Farmer: Ongoing search for Mollie Tibbetts happening in Poweshiek County

reposting my own post for discussion. Anyone have any clue what it could mean that they walked in there without a white van, but came back when they finished searching with a white van?

Sounds to me like they most likely called for a pickup (and it was a white van) on the other side of where they entered the property. That’s what the article seemed to mention.

In the live video the reporter says something about how she didn’t think they would be in that area for very long but it had already been an hour. But that the truck was left running so she thought they didn’t think they’d be there that long...

She gets home from run and does homework and goes to bed

Gets up and ready for work puts in an extra pair of contacts and the dogs away for the day

Puts drivers license and a few bucks in her pocket and grabs her phone

Starts waking to the car to get to work.... The drive to work is approx 25/30 mins so she needs to leave the house at about 6-630 and may have needed to get their earlier due to the field trip

The electrical co op's hours are 8-5 and she is waking alone on that street way before any workers start showing up

Finally her brother was surprised to still see the car that morning and texts her about needing a ride home later

the text is at 7:30am and never gets a response

I think she got taken that morning
6-6:30 am

Where I live ppl use Uber/Lyft all the time. Is this relevant to the area she lived in? Could she have scheduled a ride with a perp?

We looked before, you can't get Uber/Lyft out there. There are some cab companies in nearby cities. I can't see a college student paying for a cab to drive 15-20+ miles just to pick them up, that's going to be one big tab.

I think the shirt appearing is something everyone needed at this point, to keep the investigation alive and going. Almost 3 weeks and nothing, is a long time witthout any new evidence/clues being collected or released to the public.
Good point. I suppose if it is hers, there's still a chance....

That morning the house was left in it's normal state as it would be when none of the residents are home. Dogs fed and watered in the basement. And I assume the door unlocked, as Dalton says it always is.

But, Mollie didn't follow her usual routine. She wasn't on social media. She didn't answer texts. She didn't show up for work.

How could the house be just right, when Mollie wasn't?

Another thing is... This case has me thinking about my daily routines I have and what I always do vs. random events.

1 thing I have done, every day for 10 + years, when I first wake up is; text my mom good morning... or she text me,it’s kinda a race of who text first... sometimes I won’t do it first thing, but I make sure to do it when I first remember. So, if this didn’t happen tomorrow by noon, red flags would be up and Either me or my mom would be on the hunt to figure out why.

Your daily Routine, sometimes is the best thing that could help an investigation.

Just sharing for others to set up some type of system with a loved one.
This has been bugging me and is probably meaningless, but Mollie had been away at college. Her “daily routine “ after coming home for summer was a relatively new routine, bouncing from mom’s house to BFs, job in Grinnel with apparently unknown transportation at times, dogsitting on her own, heading to the DR for the wedding, getting ready to set up her own apartment for the next school year. It’s kind of a non-routine. Did someone new to town notice her? Idk.

Is this a rhetorical question?

Makes me say, "Hmmm..."

The FBI is there. There are probably 40-50 LE officials looking for her. The entire country is watching. Not to mention she was happy & looking forward to her life. I don't mean to be disagreeable, but suicide just isn't plausible here.

What is probable and what is possible are two very different animals. I agree it's not probable that MT committed suicide. I do, however, think it is possible. We can't know what we don't know. Meaning, we can't know that she didn't commit suicide when we don't know what happened to her.

Maybe she was walking down the street/hwy and someone familiar, stopped and offered her a ride to the car and she got in?

Yes, to this but I'd say between 5 and 6:30 am.

I would also add the stormy weather might have prompted her to accept a ride when she wouldn't have otherwise. Or, she asked someone she knew for a ride who had bad intentions.

I also have to draw attention again to the fact that her boyfriend's house is not a crime scene. If LE thought she was taken from his home, they would not have been allowed to return to it, even if it was in the yard. Digital evidence has led them away from the house, which would make this a crime of opportunity.

Years ago, a woman’s body (suicide) was found on her own land after a year. Another woman died within something like 100 yards from home (natural causes) and was not found for months. Also, several suicides happen when victim seems happiest...you just can’t know. I do not expect this to be the case here but you can’t judge by mood or body not being found...jmo

Here is one that I have found searching terms,

"suicide close to her house body found later"

UPDATE: Body Found By Hunter In Woods Apparently About 500 Feet Away From Lilia Aucapina's House - Sagaponack

And I would bet others as well?

Yes, to this but I'd say between 5 and 6:30 am.

If she ended up getting taken before work that is close to my guess of the time too. I would narrow it down even further to between 5:30 and 6:00 am because i read where the place she worked opened at 6:30am and assuming if she had to be to work when it opened I would guess between 5:30 and 6:00am she would be ready to head out the door.

Who farms this field near Lincoln Wildlife near where they searched today, and why is the farmer making phallic designs in the field?

But, why walk to the mom’s to get the car in the morning? Why didn’t she get it Wed night, which is what I would have done, anyway. Maybe she’s more of a morning person than I am, because I’d want the car ready for me to hop in and zoom off once I got myself dressed and ready, and took care of the dogs.

The only thing I thought of, that I wrote in an earlier post, was if her brother was using the car all Wed night, inconveniently. If that were the case, I’d have no problem making him pick me up the next morning for work!

Just thoughts..
