I hate to be a nag, but I wanted to remind people that WC has not been named a POI or suspect, so we really aren't supposed to accuse him of involvement or sleuth him. Thank you for taking the time to read my Public Service Announcement (for the benefit of keeping the thread open and Harmony from having a nervous breakdown!)

I feel like Mollie would have told her brother or mother if she had a ride to work, did not need car. And this likely would have come out early on, before nothing at all was being released, maybe when her mom spoke about her not showing for dinner. If they shared a car, it would have to be normal to let someone know she when needed it. So it does not SEEM she had made specific plans on her ride to me...

It seems more likely she was en route to her mom’s on foot almost...except for the lack of texts etc that morning. Seems she would text that she was on her way, at least, that she needed car or ride. I am rambling now but really, neither option makes sense. The one that makes MOST logical sense is that she obscured her plans in order to make her escape as she took off on her own. That would explain most things, except allowing her family and LE to endure this for two weeks.

So...nothing makes sense to me. Nothing works.

If she was walking towards her Mom's house early - say 6:30 or so, she may not have texted her brother because he might be sleeping and she'd be there anyway before 7:00 a.m.

She knew the car would still be there because it was so early in the morning and she hadn't confirmed one way or another that she needed it.

Just a thought why she may not have texted anyone yet - too early.

Plus she may have had her earplugs in for music. Her brother stated that she listened to music as she ran. Maybe as she walked too. Relaxing to listen to music while walking that early in the morning.

I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he’s being swatted. People don’t seem particularly fond of him and he’s an easy target to throw under the bus.

Easy enough, doubting...

Yesterday I was sticking to the theory that she left on her own because of many reasons but today I think I moved over to a real perp got her if that shirt ends up being hers.

The things that had me leaning to her leaving on her own was that darn wedding and Im guessing she started to feel real pressure to marry her BF. Because the brother was joking to the BF about him proposing to her and also her Dad said in an interview that he would pressure her to marry the BF when she gets found. So I had wondered if maybe during the 3 hour phone call she may have felt pressured to marry BF and decided to take off before the wedding of the brother.

These are real pressures I believe she felt and it really had me leaning that she left on her own. I still think its possible. There were other things too like some twitters she made that alluded to her goals in life may have been changing.

But if that red shirt is hers then I just dont see her throwing it out the window on her own. And the longer this goes on with the national news I would be really surprised she would put everybody through this. So today is the first day I am leaning to a real abduction.
If that red shirt ends up being hers it would be a game changer - the first piece of tangible evidence that something happened to her.

But until that’s confirmed we’ve got nothing.

Also, more visitors than normal could be around due to the county fair.
The thing that is throwing me is the quote from the bartender who stated that she didn't see any out of towners at the bar that night and that things were quiet. Struggling with this due to lack of information but intuition leads me to believe that a stranger was not involved here.

Is JC WC's wife? Or is there any relation? Working with people with cognitive disabilities, I see Asperger's in WC.

Off Topic: Recent lecture at National WWII Museum: Asperger’s will be removed from diagnostic manuals and will not ever be used again. Dr. Asperger, who defined the condition enabled the euthanasia of children with the condition in Nazi Germany.

We agree to disagree. Phone calls can, and have been, extremely harrasing. Doesn't matter what the relationship was - or wasn't.

Especially if you are terrified of the person like most victims would be.

Was he stalking only that woman or two women? Do we know if she was a random woman or a former girlfriend? Thank you for answering my question!

It doesn’t matter. A stalker and someone who assaults women is a danger to women. And I previously posted, a guilty stalking charge is a plea most likely down from something like assault, holding someone against their will etc. Almost all guilty pleas are to a much lesser crime. Anyone with these charges is a danger to women.

Research shows stalking is the number one predictor of femicide. Think about that.

I believe the initials JC refer to the owner of one of the first hog farms searched. Need to double check to be sure but could have sworn the name was Chaney or something close to that.

Brothers.

I think it's impossible to know if it was a stranger or not, based on the fact that this bartender didn't see any out of towners. Not every out of towner is going to stop at this bar.

I thought JC was a woman, Julia?

True. I'm curious what led investigators to search that area. Was there a tip about a red t-shirt, or did cell phone data triangulate to that location? If cell phone data led police to that area, and they found her t-shirt, does that mean she is in that location?

Yeah, it's not so much his interview just his history of stalking and the fact since the day they said they started getting the electronics data back everything has been focused either on his property, or a half mile from his property. And the fact that they took his phone overnight is really odd, nobody else has said anything of the sort.

His history of stalking makes him no more a suspect than the two registered sex offenders in the area. I guess my feeling on him at this point is its way too obvious for it to be him and him to not already have been at least detained. They've been searching "non-stop" near that area for two weeks according to the reports today, they took pictures all over his house, they questioned him for 2hrs, and they had his phone at their disposal overnight, I would think all those experts get something out of all that by now if its him.

Her dad said that? That he would pressure her to marry? What if she wanted a life outside of Iowa, as her post about NYC hinted? And her BF is a smalltown guy who wants to stay one? And doesn’t she have two or so more years of university?

Mollie has lived in that community since she was in Grade two.

She is well known and being a small town, people would know where she lived/was staying.

I’m guessing suicide still can’t be ruled out? I’ve known people who have committed suicide that seemed fine on the outside. Had future (near and far term) plans scheduled. It would account for the dogs in the basement, her leaving on her own, no need for her wallet or glasses/contacts, maybe took her phone in hopes of it helping to locate her, no need to pick up the car for work... I’m sure it’s a very slim possibility but it just popped into my head

They should interview every single sex offender or <modsnipped> stalker like <snipped> (or WC?) in the area.

*New member Q: Can I write full names or do I have to use their initials?
Dear WhimsicalWillow,
They will interview every sex offender in the area. Please do not post their names here. The police already have them. As far as Cheney we would prefer you use the initials WC. Thank you

The problem with this theory is: why then did she not have her eyeglasses or contacts? I also think her not having her wallet (if she's leaving for the day) is a slight problem.

This is why I prefer the idea that the abduction took place at the house first thing in the morning or between midnight and 4am (while she was sleeping). If the perp had a gun, this would explain why there are no signs of struggle.
