I recall in one of the early press conferences, the officer saying something to the effect of Mollie doing something "out of character" and "Getting to know Mollie better" or something to that effect. It made me think that maybe she'd either been romantically involved with somebody other than her BF or possibly been active on a datng site such as Tinder.

In either case I could see a jilted love interest being very upset about her leaving to the Dominican Republic in a few days on a romantic wedding getaway with her BF and contacting her while the BF and roommates were out of town to discuss. She agrees to talk, gets in a car with this person and *poof*...gone

I have been thinking this way as well. It stands in contrast to the narrative about the hog farmer, who is highly unlikely to be someone Mollie would have conversed with on social media.

What bothers me, and I realize it doesnt matter, is that in many cases it is a family member who ends up being the perpetrator. Not allowing discussion of family members would be similar to LE not being allowed to consider immediate members of family either. Everyone is a suspect, regardless if LE has said otherwise.
Completely different. LE doesn't post their assumptions about someone on an interest forum, left to be seen for life, until the person is solidly a POI or suspect. You are also welcome to speculate about anyone you would like to, privately.

Have you ever seen one of the big slurry ponds? I think it would take hundreds of tanker loads to empty it. And I'm just guessing here but I'd imagine that a body tossed into one of these cesspools would degrade to nothing faster than it could be recovered. I'm sure it could be attempted but I'm also sure there is a cost/benefit analysis that would have to bear out first before such an undertaking. It would be interesting to research and see if a body has ever been recovered from a hog slurry pit.

I would like to know if there was ever a case of a body being in one either. Im guessing but I dont think its as acidic enough to dissolve a body and especially the bones. Maybe over time it would deteriorate but I am guessing the bones at least would be there for a very long time.

Mafia have been known to try to use real acid to dissolve a body and its very difficult to do it all the way. I just dont think the slurry would be acidic enough to dissolve the bones.

Wow. These hog confinements are every bit as large as I was envisioning if we are seeing just a section of it.

That does sound like an ideal place to hide a body.
I hope LE has enough tips to focus on where she may be and search whatever needs searched.

This hog farm is owned by a large agribusiness, and most large hog farms have thousands of pigs, so would be very large.

What iDVD this is someone like AH’s abductor, post in progress, tech diffs,

I’m afraid reading/posting etc has become virtually impossible. I know Tricia and team have been working hard to get things fixed. Hopefully it will be resolved soon. Making note to pick up at above post re: AH.

Here’s an idea-
Any adult children of the neighbors visiting the week of MT’s disappearance? I have a theory but Iowa’s court case lookup website is currently down.

Someone who is familiar with MT and her family, with proximity but lives in another city

No, unfortunately fitbits do not have WiFi or cellular capabilities. Data is transferred to the phone via Bluetooth, then from the phone to the server over WiFi or cellular.

eta: Fitbit data they have could potentially show them the location where the Fitbit and phone were in close proximity. Could have been faster and more accurate than cell carrier info.

This is going to be way too much information, but for those who are curious the pulse sensor is a wearable tech sensor that is programmed using python code on something like an Arduino (essentially a stand-alone hard drive). The sensor is programmed to collect specific data at specific intervals. The data is transmitted via bluetooth (short range wifi) from the sensor to another device, such as a laptop or cell phone (must be paired with these devices in order to receive the data). The sensor must be close enough to the device to sync with the device and download the data.

When the fitbit (which includes a pulse sensor) are paired with the cell phone and in close enough range to the cell phone, the cell phone can transmit the data to a remote device using cell phone wifi.

This thread moves SO fast, so it's no surprise to me I missed something. There's an insider? (I still have miles to go before I catch up, assuming I ever will, so my apologies if it's already been addressed)
Yeah, there is someone on here who was involved in the search. They decided not to share anything that law enforcement had not already shared.

Oh don’t get me started on that. I want that troll jailed. What a wicked thing to do.

That may be the very reason it's not taken down. Evidence gathering! It is wicked.

According to this article about an accident where a man fell into a hog slurry pit in a bobcat, the entire body would be decomposed within a few weeks, including bones. Grizzly, awful things to think about. Let's hope nobody has taken those measures. Body in hog lagoon likely decomposed

I'm from Iowa and the boyfriend is just classic Iowa rural teenage male to me. Raised to be tough (or at least pretend to be tough). His statements, facial expressions, word choice, body language -- everything seems exactly like what I'd expect based on the guys I grew up with. Poor guy -- he is so young to have to deal with such a tough situation, plus getting piled on with suspicion.

His chest and arms, tho... Hopefully Mollie comes back safe and gets to cuddle in with those!

LE is not revealing anything at this point. If they have a solid POI they are watching, I get it. But I hope we’re not here on months from now and LE decides to reveal that they are looking for a particular car in a certain area or they provide some grainy black & white surveillance video of a vehicle and they held onto this info to ‘protect’ the investigation. I can’t remember who I saw in the grocery store last weekend. I get that we need to protect the investigation, but at the same time if they wait too long memories fade and LE might miss that one tip.

They've said that if they thought that sharing any particular information might help them find Mollie, they would do it. I guess we just have to trust their judgment at the moment, because we aren't in the loop.

Really wish I could believe they have a POI...but in so many cases, LE finds some reason to haul them in on some other charge or at least be questioning someone. Hard to believe this is a leak-proof LEA when so much gets out, as a rule.

Im in agreement.

If LE had a definite POI and that person was at home I think they would have hauled them down for questioning multiple times by now.

Which tells me one of three things.

Either they have a definite POI and he/she is missing along with Mollie or

they already questioned them and are in watching mode now while trying to get more evidence for charges or

they still have not identified a specific POI yet.

They could have interviewed someone multiple times, and we just don't know that fact.

Do we really know who all has been questioned? I think not.

You have a great point that memories do fade so anything of potential value needs to be released ASAP.
