I wish he knew this was the case. What it is is a father's only hope at this point. I feel so sorry for him. I too really hope someone is holding her against her will and she can somehow get released. Statistically this probably isn't the case but it has happened.
I feel that usually the person who is closest to another person in life MAY have factual knowledge that creates gut feelings that no one else can feel. I.e. she was excited about the wedding but not about her relationship... she was feeling stifled in her life, she has met some interesting people at school, maybe a guy has a crush and Molly downplayed it to dad in the 3 hour conversation... maybe the fact that dad has remarried, Molly sees that there are options in life....

Mollie's Dad's new wife would certainly be sharing their excruciating grief with Mollie missing from their lives right now.

She would have known Mollie for a few years and loved her. I was glad to see her there as well. They all share a deep love for Mollie.

They make up a very loving family, although there are two families. They are standing together with their deep love for Mollie. They are all suffering right now and I can't even imagine how they feel.

Supporting one another and holding each other tight is the only (and the best) thing they can do right now.

My heart goes out to all of them.

Beautiful post.

Looking at Mollie’s smiling face in the pictures on her “Missing” posters, it strikes me that really some pictures should be included of a missing person NOT smiling, because if in a kidnapping/abduction scenario, if the victim was spotted (after abduction), it is highly unlikely he/she would be smiling. People’s faces can look somewhat different depending on expressions. But if the purpose of the Missing Posters is more just to bring attention to the case, I guess a smiling/attractive pic is more eye catching. Still, I think one non-smiling photo should be included. IMO

I said the same thing last thread. I wonder if hey don't have one

I don't think we ever heard who found the red shirt.
When was the red shirt found?
Was the red shirt found on WC property?
When did LE first interview WC?

I will have to dig. ;)

I think the majority of reports said it was found in a field near his property.

I think Cheney was first questioned 7/31, but that's just going by the date of this article and him saying he was questioned Tuesday. Could have been a prior Tuesday though, for all we know.

I posted informtion before on the relationship of burglary and sexual assault.

I feel the person who did this did not wake up one day and start on a life of crime. I think the person has done other things. One of the things that is correlated is burglary.

It is of interest that there was a burglary a couple days before Mollie was missing in a house a short way o Des Moines.

They PC was supposed to be today but they probably got what they needed in order to arrest the perp. Lots of preparation on how it will be handled. I’m guessing that’s why it was postponed to Friday. Today was probably just going to be a briefing. I would be willing to bet a suspect most likely WC will be arrested Friday before PC.

JMO

Fingers crossed you are right! And prayers spoken that Mollie is found unharmed. I’m not optimistic, but the world does surprise us now and again.

I wonder if they found something at WC's........
Entirely possible, would explain why LE has focused on that area 'from the beginning' with several searches and interviews with property owner/leasee WC-cell phone/fitbit pings, other physical evidence found in searches, info from interviewing WC, red shirt. They've got to be verra verra (that's Scottish for very very) close to a huge break in the case and finding Mollie!!

I don't know if this has been posted. If so sorry to repeat this article about the other girl found that others thought may have been Molly:

Sadie Alvarado, Whose Body Was Found During Mollie Tibbetts Search, Left on Roadside by Boyfriend: Cops

The body of a woman found during the search for Mollie Tibbetts has been identified as 20-year-old Sadie Alvarado, whose boyfriend has been arrested for allegedly leaving her on the side of a rural Iowa road.
I feel awful for her family and friends. There were a handful of members the other day here who made it a point to lament that another young girl had died. I think we should all read this article and also go look at other current missing people threads. It’s not just Mollie who needs to come home. There are hundreds of others whose loved ones need them home also.

Was the ABC news report I just posted about a repeat of what mollies dad has already said/was this aired before tonight? No one has commented on his words. I’m guessing this is an old interview?

SBM: THIS times a million, thanks Suglo. Yes, please, please visit other threads. Lots of missing folks need to be found. New ideas and insight are ALWAYS welcome.

Pentagon restricts use of fitness trackers, other electronic devices that reveal locations
It adds, "These geolocation capabilities can expose personal information, locations, routines, and numbers of DoD personnel, and potentially create unintended security consequences and increased risk to the joint force and mission."

Interesting question. There were a number of people that had some very detailed fitbit tech specs a few threads back that might be interesting to you. My recollection about the fitbit was that it is sync'd to a specfic phone (MT in this case) via bluetooth. I think what I recall from the thread that if the connection to the phone is lost then the fitbit has the capability to still capture information but that it wouldn't be transmitted to the phone until the bluetooth connection is reestablished or the device is sync'd on a computer. The gist of what I remember is that the fitbit communicates with the phone it is sync'd to only and doesn't communicate with other phones that might be in the area. Wonder if a fitbit can be hijacked or hacked? I don't know but it would be interesting to know how secure the technology is for the device.

I am not a tech person, but I wonder if the reason DoD is shutting these things down for people in the field is because these devices are effectively sending out bluetooth signals. So, I would think that someone someplace has the ability to track and possibly visualize all these bluetooth signals to then figure out how many personnel are in any given area.

There were three blonde women behind the podium at the August 3 press conference, if that is the one you're talking about:
  • Laura Calderwood, Mollie's mother
  • Kacey Auston-Tibbets, Mollie's step-mother
  • Medina Rahnanovic, Iowa Missing Persons Information Clearinghouse Manager
There are photos with captions at this link: Watch Live: News conference regarding the Mollie Tibbets search

ETA: It irks me that they still have not corrected Mollie's name and the captions still read "Maddie Tibbets."

It was Medina who was only one visible in clip I posted above. Your link is either not available in UK or taken down now, so can't see!

This is just heartbreaking.
