We were wondering early on why the reward money was only $2,000. Then kabooooom it’s around $300,000 now. That could be a good sign.

Where does all of that even come from??? Is that just people donating towards it???

Are you familiar with VSCO? I ask because I didn't know of it until this case and try to stay up to date on social media so I can monitor my teen closely (and be the strictest mom in the world if you ask him). It seems that the type of photos she posted there are commonly shared on that site. As you say, most on other social media are falsely positive and "happiness required or you suck." No one is happy all the time. In fact, self doubt, sadness, loneliness are all very normal emotions that we all experience. So, if we all had a VSCO account and used it as many have described it's purpose here, couldn't it be argued we would all be perceived in a similar state of mind? JMO but I don't see anything overly significant, especially not knowing her personally.

I was not familiar with it until earlier today. However, no, I do not believe that most of us would be consistently posting things alluding to suicide, being miserable, and/or other potential clinical mental health issues if our outward persona is as "genuine" and "happy-go-lucky" as everyone close to her has insisted that hers is. Just like her disappearance, this too is an anomaly that should be treated as such.

JMO.

It felt like it took them awhile to get a reward up, then only 2k. It just feels like everything moved too slow in the beginning. I hope I'm wrong.

Not sure that I have seen someone mention this but thought it was interesting. On her VSCO the second picture she posted was one stats about suicide and mental health issues. Of course not 100% proof that she was suicidal but when I see friends or friends of friends post about heroin or suicide stats on social media 99% of the time those people experienced those issues themselves or a family member. Also worth noting that this wasn’t a post from years ago it was her second most recent post.

Wow! look at the two portraits of her towards the bottom. She looks so much like Jodi Arias in her younger pretty days before she became the slasher killer.

I think donations and the family digging deep into their personal funds.

I respect your opinion. However, the suicide posts were commonly shared during the time of high profile suicides in the media. I shared and continue to share regularly posts about depression and mental illness. I'm a mental health professional with a psych background. But, my friends in other fields equally share the same. I'm not depressed or suicidal. I agree that nothing can be ruled out but am cautious to judge based on what she shared. Jmo.

Accepting a social norm doesn't equate to thinking it is a good idea. It is so important that parents are informed of the newest apps and monitor the use of their children and teens to teach internet safety from a very young age. But, the reality is that social media is a large part of adolescent culture and selfies, sometimes provocative poses and dress is more the norm than not. It is possible (likely) that if social media and the internet existed during adolescence for older generations, we would see the same behavior. It is more related to brain and typical adolescent development (identity formation, risk taking, seeking independence) than it is to poor morals or the like. JMO.

definitely agree. ive mentioned tonight im almost 29 (and im from a family of 6 kids) and two of my younger siblings are 24 and 20. more than once, i have seen them on some app posting a picture that appears stupid/not necessary and ive asked why and theyve said "i havent posted anything today". this really reminds me of the similar mindset of mollie's bf needing to be at the top of her snapchat list - there is a strong yet undefined pressure to constantly be posting and exposing yourself with either profound insight to life (insert emo quote and/or picture of a bf/gf) or a trendy update (insert instagramming food, puppies) constantly. i think this pressure also caused young people to post things they loosely agree with but havent thought through (why im not jumping to conclusion about her SM).

at the same time, i do agree hers is maybe a bit more expressive than the average person her age so i get the speculation but on its own, its not enough for me to really learn anything concrete, imo.

Any thoughts on the homework she was doing that night? Could it have been some type of clinical study where she was interacting with real people or doing research that required her to interact with some folks that were having some type of issues? I'm thinking that the person that has her is related to school, her major and she was trying to help them - this is why the dad keeps mentioning the relationship and school like he's trying to bring this person back to reality.
I had only looked at her images. Then I clicked on her collections... https://vsco.co/mollietibbetts/collection/1

This makes sense now looking at the other girls that these bathroom selfies/tongue hanging out pics are a thing and it’s like a contest to see who can get their pic published most.

Mollie is so cute in the video!
.......

O M G.

That is frightening! She looks so distraught, I can feel it. He is still harassing them after all the orders, fines, court, etc!!!

Oh boy. This isn't good.

As am I and as do I. However, when I do share those posts I do it on ALL platforms, and particularly the ones that have more viewers. Not just one smallish platform, and one that I also happen to have all of my "raw and uncut" self and thoughts permeating my feed.

The red t-shirt & denim shorts is what Mollie was expected to wear to her day camp job, and reported at a fast and furious moment in the initial missing report. However, this red t-shirt discussion was terminated (within LE) before the first missing poster ever went up because by then, LE was able to VERIFY on school camera and witnesses that Mollie's was last sighted wearing her jogging clothes. Days later, Mollie's Mum also confirmed she found both of Mollie's red t-shirts located in her room at Mum's house. Later, a report of red shirt found by a mower, but this shirt never linked to Mollie by LE. (There was also annual Iowa bike race on the road the shirt located). Granted, nothing confirmed by LE but I don't think red t-shirt an issue here....

BBM

Can you tell me where this information came from? Another poster was working on a map the other night and asked me if I knew about a school sighting and unfortunately, I didn't. I would appreciate it so much! :) TIA

I thought we didn’t know if the Red shirt had any attachment to the case, whatsoever, and I thought it was found at a Park.

.
As far as I know, it was never verified that one was even found. That was all speculation

Agree that a deranged predator could be stalking it, but my primary concern about it is self-harm. Again, if those posts were recent she doesn't appear to be in a very good mental/emotional place at all.

JMO.
Some of the photos she did not look happy and had kind of a strange solemn look on her face, blank, maybe in a dark place? It’s like she trying to get a message across. I can’t pinpoint it. It’s really bugging me. She had been with her boyfriend for years maybe she had outgrown him, stagnate relationship not into it anymore and was looking for something new in her life. I just don’t know. How sad

I noticed on page two of the monetary donation form that they have a date of August 2020 or November 2020 regarding tip and reward money. After that, the form says the money is given to the family (August 2020), or Crimestoppers, or kept by a bank till November 2020, unless a donation return form is submitted

I am sure the phone is dead now unless it has been charged during the missing time. but does the phone still ping while on airplane mode? the tech could give so much data that is so hard to wrap your head around and then there is the volume of data that would just be so massive to go threw. if there is a truck stop near (truck stops often have networks that don't require a password for their guest) the phone could have connected to a open network, if someone had data shareing as a open network on their phone her phone could have connected and showed someone she was jogging their way long before she was even seen physicaly by them.

I don't want to say too much on a public posting, but I will say a little, I have a business router and other equipment that requires I at least briefly from time to time open my business network (devices are futher secured so I feel ok saying this), I learned fast that I could use that to my benefit, I can see when ups comes and goes, I can see fedex, I can see usps, I can see anyone that has a phone or tablet that gets within a 1/4 mile of my router. it can ding and tell me every time a device logs on or off, it tells me their mac address, if it is a iphone, if it is android, if it is a phone that can be used world wide, brand of computer, and who any of those items belong to if they have named it. it logs how many times that device has logged on and more. I have no reason to think other open networks don't do the same.

If Mollie was a regular runner, she likely had a routine for what she did before and after runs. Early MSM articles said she liked running at night when it was cooler but before it got dark. If she showered every night right after her run, and there's no sign she showered on the 18th, LE might suspect she never made it back to the house. If there was no wet towel or sign of water in the bathroom they could also assume something must have happened during/immediately after the run.

There has been focus on whether she did schoolwork the night of the 18th. Web browsers also will tell you the last time someone accessed a page on a computer. If her history showed she opened a webpage after say 8pm, then LE likely knows she (or someone) did go back to the house after the run and open the computer.

There's a lot of time information that we don't know but LE definitely knows.

MOD NOTE

Please stop any and all discussion of the VSCO account and the pictures on it. It does not seem to be relevant at this time and the discussion is veering into non-victim-friendly territory.

Thank you!

‘Just hang on’: Mollie Tibbetts’ parents share theory on her disappearance
BBM
A man who lives near the fields and a hog farm in the search area, (WC) said it doesn't make sense to him that he's been questioned by the FBI at least five times about Mollie Tibbets.

I had only heard about 3. WC says at least 5 times!

Why is he even telling anybody that he keeps being questioned? Seems so strange to do imo.
I wonder other than tying a Fitbit ping to his property, does he have ANY ties to the town of Brooklyn. Can he be placed there ever?
