I've mulled this over within my mind. If it was a fling (I'm doubting). I could see it being very hard for her to bring it out in the open with her family or friends. So if she did go on her own even just for a little...I'm sure it would be hard to figure out just how to explain all of it to her friends.... family. Just speculation of course...which I dont want to get to far out with. She just seems very close with her family and her bfs family. Would be devastating to bring that out to them. Also I remember them saying that there was "quiet" talk of marriage...isn't that an engagement ring on her finger? If so..how's that "quiet" talk.
Based on an Instagram photo of hers, I believe the ring is something she was given after one of her grandmother's passed away. An Irish "claddaugh" type ring.

Why is the FBI holding back so much information. The public could help if they knew alot of these facts. I don't understand this at all.
Maybe they are not holding back. Maybe they just don't really have a lot of information to give.

Actual conversation with my 17 year old:

Me: what is Vee Ess See Oh [spelling out VSCO because what do I know]?
17 year old: [blank stare]
Me: you know, the social media site?
17 year old: [rolling eyes] Oh, you mean Visco [how it is actually pronounced]

I feel old.

Keeping this on topic - I hope today is the day Mollie's loved ones gets answers.

Im 28 and I teach at a middle school, this is the first time I hear about that app. I hope its because i live in Cali not because im old. I will ask my students what they know about that app

LE has said that if they felt like releasing some piece of information would help them to locate Molly, they would release it. Apparently, they haven’t felt that to be the case.

What’s the time stamp on the cell pings on the two towers? Was it like 7:45? If so she didn’t make it back home obviously as she was in a vehicle headed south towards I-80. So if she was 15 min into her jog that puts her at the section where she was abducted or left with someone in the middle of town about to head north to her moms but instead she ended up south. Does anyone know when the cell pings came in? Once they came in it seems to me her phone was then confiscated and that was the end of the trace. To me that’s where a struggle may have occurred. Took her right at that intersection and went south. She then put up some resistance knowing she was in a bad place and the abductor then pulled over to get her to be quiet and maybe even tie her up better and that’s when the phone was destroyed around WC farm. Then back on the road out of town and onto the interstate and gone.

Good day, everyone! I've been out of the loop for a few days due to personal matters, so would anyone be so kind as to let me know if any significant developments or updates have occurred since the weekend? I heard there will be another PC this Friday. TIA very much!!

If you are going to ask them maybe you can include a question like "What are the newest SM conversation apps the kids are using these days?"

This may help us in other cases too. Thanks in advance as I am real curious.

When I learned some kids say FB is for old fogies I could not believe it. LOL

I like your first theory but about her being abducted while running, now seems less likely because of the timwline LE provided. They now think she made it back home since she send a snap and worked on her computer till 1030pm. Also when she went running she was wearing a sport bra not the red shirt that was found and LE have not disclosed if the shirt belongs to MT or not but mom said she had her two red shirts so a red shirt is not missing (it could belong to someone else)

BBM: Where is the information coming from, if you don't mind my asking?

I've also heard that cadaver dogs were used. Hopefully the dogs were cross trained in scent tracking as well but I'm puzzled as to why she wasn't tracked to a certain point where she may have gotten into a vehicle and the trail was lost. I was expecting this information to be out. Guess not. o_O
I will search for links in a bit, but IIRC, it is a fact that dogs were used in searches. We do not know for a fact if the dogs used were cadaver dogs, tracking dogs, trailing dogs, etc.

I am sure many listened to Mollie's dad's interview yesterday. There was one thing said that has gotten under my skin. He said bless her heart Mollie was a terrible driver.

We know she was chauffeured from her job to Dalton's by her brother. She "shared the car with bro".
I had to wonder - had Mollie gotten into a routine of either being chauffeured around or bumming rides since she was 16?

She was supposed to be living off campus next semester with her roommate. Was it so close to campus she would be able to walk there? Was someone going to carry back and forth during breaks?

I can't imagine any girl preferring to have to depend on others to get her from point A to point B.

If this was me, I would be walking. If I hadn't by 20 figured out how to get my own vehicle on my own. By the time I reached 20 I would have gotten sick of asking for rides AND at that time many of my friends would have jobs, lives that were no longer as closely knit to mine so I would have a more difficult time finding a ride. I also at 20 wanted to be as independent as I could. So I would just walk. Brooklyn is so tiny I could see myself just walking from Point A to Point B.

With that said - I am not happy that efforts were not made between 16-20 to improve her driving skills. Unless she was planning to move to particular locations in our Country being able to drive is a necessary skill. Even in places where folks routinely walk there are times a vehicle is necessary. Unless you can afford to have a private chauffeur or pay for cabs/uber/lift every time you need to get from Point A to Point B or there is public transportation, which there was none in Brooklyn, being able to drive is skill set that girls need to learn.

Dalton also most likely carried her from Point A to Point B too, didn't he? And on Wednesday she was stranded. The sometimes car she could use wasn't available, Dalton was out of town. What to do? Walk!

Could she have decided to learn to drive better on her own? Or could her needing rides and not having her own car have played a part in why she is missing?

My grandma lived her whole life on the outskirts of a tiny town raised nine kids and never learned to drive. Her husband carried her places until he died. Her children and their spouses and folks from her church did it up until she left this world. My mom made sure we knew how to drive - a manual and an automatic. The man who carjacked me didn't get very far because my truck is a stick. I am so grateful Mom and Dad both made sure I understood how important knowing how to drive and drive well and allowed me to learn those skills way before I was 20. I can't imagine living in IA and not knowing out to drive or not having my own vehicle to use to get from Point A to Point B.

I know there are some folks who are just not good drivers. But honestly how good do you have to be to drive in Brooklyn IA? I really wonder if her driving proficiency not being corrected and her not having a car of her own may have set something in motion.

Her dad even mentioned he thought someone picked her up...
Thoughts?

Interesting scenario but there is one problem. Brooklyn is north of the interstate, and the farm is south of it. So the farm wouldn't be on the way to the interstate.

I have two theories and I’m new to the board.

#1 - I believe Mollie was abducted. She did not have her wallet and ID etc with her so if she was going to get a vehicle at any point she would have had that with her to go to work, especially in the morning. LE had pings from her cell and Fitbit data sync that put her on a route out of town headed towards WC and south. This is where the abductor and her may have had to make a quick stop to get her under control and she tried escaping. Maybe she tried getting out and he broke the cell and fit bit and this is about where the red shirt was found also. I think there might have been a struggle somewhere close to WC. I don’t think it was him anymore but more leaning towards the attempted break in at the hardware store which nobody seems to link. I’m not sure if anyone is from a small town of under 1,500 people, but I am. Break in’s just don’t occur. Robberies don’t occur. If they do, they find out who did it. So the fact someone was in town to attempt a hardware store breakin. Makes me think that was the black suv person as well. They saw mollie running and followed her and waited for the right time to take her. The hardware breakin which is usually done by a neighboring town person seems to give some possible credence to a person in town around the time of her abduction.

#2 A second theory is Mollie had a potential sugar daddy while attending U of I and he became possessive and wanted her to leave him. Many at the U of I have them. Dalton was out of town and she made plans to leave with him for a while and an argument happened and she never came home. The run was 15 min which tells me she was picked up along the route in theory by someone. The black suv thing could be his and she knew him so got in.
Rumor has it that the rumor about the black suv has been debunked. That’s the trouble with rumors!

Honestly, not really. The only thing you probably missed was that Mollie's father has given interviews in which he says he believes that Mollie is still alive and was taken by someone she knows misunderstood/misinterpreted their relationship. He told the abductor to not 'escalate things any further.' It's totally speculation on his part, he says, but i also can't help but think maybe he does know more information than he's letting on in order to come to that conclusion...

After reading so many comments about her SM, I finally cruised over to look. Seriously, I would have thought she was a Mormon, except for 1 or 2 shots. And I write this from deep behind the Gold Plate Curtain. Mollie, moo, is a *delightful* young lady.

I’m so glad I had sons who are grown adults now. If I had a daughter she would have hated me. I would never let her out of my sight and be a paranoid WRECK constantly checking up on her even as an adult. My adorable 25 year niece has to tell me on many occasions “I love you but just stop it already” I’m so over protective and the skimpy clothes she wears just freaks me out and my heart pounds. I admire all you Moms and Dads out their raising daughters.

AFAIK, LE has not released a timeline. Family has made conflicting statements about whether she returned to the house after her run.
