I grew up in a small Iowa town and I have always been a runner. Having said that, if I were wanting to meet up with someone that I maybe “shouldn’t” meet with - say someone she knew was interested and she wanted to set things straight, or whatever scenario you think appropriate based on what we know - I would probably run my usual evening run and meet the person at a set place away from my house so no prying eyes would be privy to my conversation.

When one department head disagrees with another department head you get delays and/or postponements...
What does an MSM mean? Is there a thread containing websleuth lingo? I’m a rather young 20-something and I’m a part of many forums but I keep wracking my brains seeing all of the initials on the site. I even have tried googling some of these initials and acronyms. I’ve been able to gather that LE and PC mean “law enforcement” and “press conference” and NOT someone’s first & last name, at least.
I am new too, and I found a list of them when I was looking through the rules. But I don't remember exactly what it's listed under, maybe someone else can tell you exactly how to view them.

I viewed their intended purpose as a way to redirect media to not contact them until the Pcs (not recalling the direct quote from the press release). And to keep her name in the public. They have stated no information will be released unless they feel it would help bring Mollie home. I've chosen to believe them and that it meant they have had a good idea of what happened. Could be wrong, been wrong many times. But I'm hopeful they know what they are doing and her family will be able to move on from wondering and waiting. JMO

I am very concerned that they have not located MT yet. This "purgatory" her mother has described herself as being in right now must be excruciating. Mollie needs to be found, and I sincerely hope LE is employing the correct strategy here to accomplish that end.

I have hit a wall here... I've been incredibly optimistic, really thinking that this girl was going to be returned safely to her family. Also, I have thought that LE had a clear picture of the situation...
Today, I'm sadly thinking that they have nothing. To me, pushing the pc back is an admission that they are failing.
Dear Lord I hope I'm very wrong... Maybe some of you folks can away me with your logical conclusions

MSM is mainstream media, like CNN, FOX, MSNBC, etc. Don't feel too bad, I was on here for a full year and couldn't understand why people would moo at the end of their posts, so I did it too. I thought it was like saying 10-4 on a cb radio, so I mooed like a cow at the end of every post. Then one day I asked why people mooed at the end their posts. Let's just say there was a flurry of acronyms: LOL, ROFL, and ROFLPIMP. I waited another year before asking what those meant.
Hilarious! Moooo.

Very interested to see everyone’s thoughts on the presser being rescheduled. I’m hoping they’re onto something big and don’t want to give anything away.

Have there been other cases where this has happened back to back? What ended up being the reason?
I pray you are right but I fear that they just don’t have anything at all.

Sad case. Tried to bury her in a cemetery.
She fought so hard too.
Shunick tried to use her cellphone to call for help but Lavergne, who had a knife and a semiautomatic handgun in his vehicle, threatened to stab her if she continued. Shunick sprayed mace in Lavergne's face and managed to wrestle the knife from Lavergne and stab him several times before he grabbed the knife from her.

Lavergne stabbed Shunick at least four times before she collapsed. He then drove 30 to 40 minutes to an isolated sugar cane field in north Acadia Parish.

"The Defendant believed that Mickey was dead from the stab wounds he had inflicted upon her. The Defendant drove deep into the sugar cane field and brought the Z71 to a stop, intending to drag Mickey's body into the field," the court documents said.

Shunick suddenly jumped up and stabbed Lavergne in the chest after re-arming herself with the knife. Lavergne then pulled his semiautomatic weapon and shot Shunick in the head. She died instantly.

With fresh wounds, Lavergne drove back to his home in Swords while Shunick's body slumped in the passenger seat. He destroyed his clothing, attempted to clean out his truck and got rid of the empty bullet casing. He then drove to an old cemetery in Evangeline Parish and, unable to dig a grave because of his injuries, covered Shunick under tree branches and debris.

Gosh I remember that sad case. She came so close to saving herself.

LE ended up releasing video of the suspects vehicle which helped in that case if I remember right.

I continue to believe by releasing something will help and many cases like that one where LE does release certain information.

I think they have nothing more than they had the last time. My heart is set on stranger abduction.
bbm
My mind is set on stranger abduction, too. The type of "missing person" that is, IMO, the toughest to track & solve. The perp rolls in, picks up, rolls out. Goes anywhere.
I really hope I'm wrong on this one.

And yes, the PC could be more nothing. We just really want to hear something.

I hope this is allowed. I don't think it would be considered "rumor". If not allowed, please snip or remove. :-)

I asked a LE friend of mine what might be the reasons for the continued postponing of the PC...his answer:

Unfortunately there are numerous reasons why an a LE Agency would delay in conducting a press conference, and in most situations, it will depend on the nature of the case, the victims, and if the conduct regarding any members of the department involved in the case or circumstances, may be in question or seen in a negative light. Most agencies try to be very strategic in what information is released, so that they can provide pertinent details without hindering or damaging the results of an on-going investigation. It also could be that new developments are coming in, and they need time to process the new evidence, facts, and witness testimony, to make sure they are not releasing inaccurate or old information.

Hope this helps and gives an insight from the LE side of things - good info...and makes sense to me...jmo.

What if someone is feeding tips, clues, bits and pieces directly to the family/loved ones and have instructed them not to involve LE or Molly will pay for it. But information IS being checked out and tracked. I almost can't imagine someone not something like this in a case with so much publicity (not saying they have her or don't). Maybe they go so far as to think they can get a look alike and do a hand off with some sort of stipulation that part of the money be in cash at the hand off and the rest when they see "Molly" is ok. Not that this would work but just from this thread, I see imaginations go wild and all over the place.
The family is told of these hazards ASAP. Idiots are always trying to come out of the woodwork to gain notoriety in a huge case like this. The FBI is used of dealing with ransom cases. Sick when people do this, the family is gullible & only wants her back at any cost. Normally the victim is dead, Sad but true.

If there is a POI or someone they are close to arresting, I wouldn't worry about them running. Chances are extremely high if LE is that close, that person is under heavy surveillance so if they try to run for it, they won't get far.

Except for Hannah Graham’s murderer, Jesse Matthew, who bolted, while under surveillance, and was captured in Texas 5 days later because a woman recognized him and called LE.

Many have speculated and I agree that it's very unlikely they've found her body. There is no way that news would stay under wraps for three days. At the least a family member would leak it or there would be signs. I think we can rule that out.

More likely is that they've done much testing and investigation and are close to naming a POI or even arresting a suspect or if she does happen to be alive they have at least some idea where she is or who she's with.

I still say that if they had nothing and the case was going cold, the PC would be canceled vs. postponed. Additionally, MT's case wouldn't still have 30+ FBI agents involved and basically every LE agency in the area near Brooklyn out in full force. LE only has so many resources and if this case were going purely cold, you'd see a scaling back of LE presence which has not happened here.

I would be shocked if there wasn't something - what that something is to me is the question.

This is a bit blunt from a private investigator, it's much easier to hide a live body than a dead one. In other words, when someone isn't found quickly it had been his experience it was because they were still alive.

Hi Stormy
Some do slip through, although LE will usually put a surveillance on them until they can find something.
Also, flight can usually be used against you in court. So unless you're certain that you're about to get arrested, it might not be a good idea to flee. Of course, there's always an exception: OJ.

I'm trying to remember something that was said about the camera at the electric co-op. Did someone say it was out, and if so, was that a problem that occurred recently?
I recall something about lightning or hail storm damage but not the timing.

I just drove by his trailer and 3 reporters in his yard knocking on his door. No police and no sign of WC. Spooky in this area. I have Verizon and one bar

"Can you hear me now?" :)

Just kidding and thanks so much for our locals in the area. Much appreciated.

But even worse than that would be the ignored hints, because many times the perpetrator shows up on a tip board, sometimes several times and is excluded only to find years later that "they had him at one time early on".
