I agree 100%, obviously LE has shown that if they don't have new information, they would just have the PC and state that the reward was updated.

Could it be as 'simple' as a hit and run and then panic? If it were darker than we originally had thought maybe someone just didn't see her and then took her to cover up the evidence? Might be easier to do this in a location that is not as central to downtown vs some of the prior theories? Pure conjecture though at this point.

I'm not seeing that as a possibility. I can't recall a single case where a motorist hit a pedestrian, then picked up the body, put it in the vehicle, and took it somewhere else for disposal. Not saying it isn't possible, but it would be highly, highly rare.

The only thing I don't understand is why they keep setting it back a couple days at a time. Why not just say.. We won't be having any more scheduled press conferences unless we have something new to say. Any LE types care to chime in?

I can 100% see LE making the (IMO, correct) calculation that they can't step up to the podium yet again and provide absolutely nothing in the way of information to the public. They have exhausted both MSM's and the public's patience with that particular "non-communication communication" strategy, again JMO.

I think the most likely scenario is that they kicked the presser to Monday because they have nothing new that they are ready to release publicly. This doesn't mean they don't have anything new at all. They may think another no-news presser will hurt more than help.

Scenario 2 is that they're close to a big breakthrough and hoping by Monday they can share more. I think this one is possible too, we shall see. It would certainly be my preference if I had any say here.

I'll just throw out scenario 3 even though I don't think it pertains right now, but something to keep in mind for the future. I know a man whose family went through this years ago when his sister went missing (later she was found deceased.) Her killer has never been caught, and so every now and then there's some new push from LE to get tips from the public or release new leads/info. When they last did this a year or two ago, they had originally scheduled a press conference, but then they moved it back a few days. A major sports story broke locally that they knew would swamp the news cycle and they wanted to "own the day," with their presser, lead news broadcasts or at least be in the A block, etc. so that they could reach as many eyeballs as possible. So obviously this is something that they do consider, fwiw.

Because we saw a news report earlier where they more or less promised something this time. This was an article before the cancelled one.

I hope they have something substantive to report because LE is only making people angrier by canceling the press conference twice.

They have been clear that they do not intend to release information about the investigation at these Pcs. Likely until they have an official POI, Mollie, or both. Cancelling two of those PCs and rescheduling within a couple of days leads me to believe they are on to something. If they still had nothing, they would just hold the big nothingburger PC as intended, if only to keep her name public. Moo.

There's a number of reasons to postpone and some of it could be just logistics. They've recently had a young woman killed by her boyfriend, they may have gotten a break on another case, there may be testing their waiting for the results on. The reasons are endless and it's happened before. From my perspective I'd rather have them working on the case than giving press conferences unless they have something vital to share with the public.

I'm not so sure. Since they haven't waivered on their stance about the Pcs since the beginning. Honestly the expectations for new info were unwarranted given the info they put it out in press releases prior to the Pcs. Any disappointment is not on them. JMO.
