I'm trying to remember something that was said about the camera at the electric co-op. Did someone say it was out, and if so, was that a problem that occurred recently?
Yes, camera at co-op was non operational and had been out for 2 weeks. Wonder if it ever got fixed?

It could be an expression of belief. If I know I did not do X (whatever X is) well founded belief in my own innocence could cause me to use words reflecting that confidence. Evidence could show up on this guys property but its presence might not be from his direct association with it. What happens if the culprit simply drove by the man's farm and tossed evidence on the farm to dispose of it? It would be present, but the farmer would be confident in his innocence and speak and behave that way out of an absence of knowledge.

It is one of three things:
1. He is innocent and knows nothing.
2. He is guilty and knows all.
3. He is tangent to the event and knows something of the crime.

What do we think his actions say?

I've been thinking the same thing all along, she's a runner, out there to put some miles on, I think the only way she'd get in a vehicle is if someone aimed a weapon at her. Proof of point is she didn't call her brother to come pick her up, she wanted to run/jog/walk.

Mooooo
Could have been spur of the moment too, like she did her regular earlier run, she wanted to go to Mom's for dinner, and rather than calling for a ride she just started walking/jogging. If you're that much of a runner, a mile is over in about 5-10 minutes. I've walked home from work instead of waiting for a bus because I could be almost home by the time it came. Of course I would never do that these days, and don't recommend it unless someone walks with you. Even 25 years ago you would not believe all the creepers that would follow me home on foot, in trucks, stare at me out a window, etc. I started having my brother come to my work and walk me home. He also took a few of the more aggressive creepers aside and told them to get lost. Firmly.

Something speaking louder than words; but beyond that, it's a mystery.

Same with truth serum - not reliable.

However -- true story - I used truth serum (an iv barbiturate) on someone once. What did I have to lose? And believe it or not he relaxed and told his story. That was incredible. And yes he was a sex offender stalker who was planning a kidnapping.

Still, truth serum is unreliable too.

But yet they continue to be used.

I want to know the expression on her face.
I’ve been thinking the same thing for awhile. What did her facial expression show?

There was a camera on the house right next to the coop. It was a grey house i believe. Cameras on a few houses. They have to have more than they are telling us

We have to explain, people in Iowa are not like, normal.

When we see a tornado we do not go to the basement. Nope, we follow it. We get into our SUVs or batmobiles and go out tornado chasing. I am serious.

Everyone not from Iowa says that is pretty stupid. I say it is genetic.

However it can get you into trouble. Once (and I was not chasing) a tornado came right at my car, in the general area of I-80 at Brooklyn (seriously). It was a little once, but I did not think it was going to turn out well.

I’m not in a good mood about this BS at all. Brooklyn is not a spooky town, it’s one of the nicest and safest towns you could ever visit. There’s no need to dramatize. Be respectful.
I think night time in rural areas alone is scary. Being that Mollie is missing makes it more suspenseful. You don’t know who’s creeping out there and everyone should be especially vigilant.

Do more veteran members have any knowledge of cases where LE held off arresting a POI hoping they would lead them to the remains of the missing person? I only ask because I speculate that once a person is charged with homicide that they must give them a public defender who will immediately tell their client to stop talking, and with no body it's very hard to get a conviction.. just my random musings as we sit here wishing we knew where Molly was.
Sadly, the alleged murder of little Lucas Hernandez (KS) led PI to his body after several months missing, and committed suicide before an arrest possible, taking all the facts with her. It does happen and glad at least the child's body recovered.

Yes, and what I meant was that that would add to the number of investigations LE have to continue to follow if they have no other strong leads. Such as, there is a "troll" I think they are called, posting under at least four or five names and accounts of a relative of Mollie. Horrible, disgusting things, taunting .... this account is open to the public and remain so. I don't post openly unless it's a missing animal or something similar and I also don't allow posts - only replies and then only from friends. So my reaction is close this thread to the public!!! But it remains open, so I believe LE has to watch those types of things also. Maybe pressers keep getting delayed because more and more of this type of thing is happening.
This troll is not on Websleuths right? You can answer when the thread opens after I have cleaned it up or blood stops spurting out of my eyes from anger. Whichever comes first

Would you all get any benefit if I were to strap on my GoPro and take you on a walk along that route we keep thinking Mollie took?
I think everyone at Websleuths would appreciate this SharonNeedles. Please do not feel obligated. Only do this because you want to. Please do not follow anyone OK? I know the thread is closed but it will be open shortly.

The thread is now open. SharonNeedles I will be in touch with you about your offer via PM aka "Conversation". Thank you for offering and it's a great idea.

We had a poster who claimed to be in Brooklyn and claimed WC was following him. Not actually following him but was driving behind him. This poster had pictures he was going to put up on Websleuths.

In no way, shape or form, would we allow a random member, drive by a person's home who has been interviewed by police. We never would have allowed any pictures to be posted.

Here is the thing. I don't know this person. What if this person really did go to Brooklyn and something happened? Use your imagination. All kinds of wrong can happen in a situation like this. To randomly go driving around a small town and to drive by the house of the person the detectives have been interviewing and to report back and take pictures is not going to be allowed.

However, an offer like SharonNeedles is completely different. He has offered to go film the route we think Mollie took on her last jog. This could be very helpful in our discussion. SharonNeedles is doing this on his own free will and is not being asked by Websleuths to film anything. This is something that is pre-arranged and we are clear on what the outcome will be. It will be a video of where we believe Mollie went jogging.

Thank you all for caring so much about Mollie. Let's please stick to the facts of the case and stay on topic.

Thank you,
Tricia

What does an MSM mean? Is there a thread containing websleuth lingo? I’m a rather young 20-something and I’m a part of many forums but I keep wracking my brains seeing all of the initials on the site. I even have tried googling some of these initials and acronyms. I’ve been able to gather that LE and PC mean “law enforcement” and “press conference” and NOT someone’s first & last name, at least.

HI WW--I sent you a message with the link to the WS lingo
just check your messages to find it

Planned Update Postponed
DCI Postpones Planned Update on Mollie Tibbetts Search

Update now moved to next week.

All along I've leaned toward the theory that Mollie came to harm during her run. Three witnesses saw her
running. The run was only fifteen minutes long, much shorter than MT's usual runs. I know that there was a huge ground search initially, but I cannot shake the feeling she is hidden somewhere close but out of sight. Perhaps I watch way too many crime programs but in so many missing persons cases a body is found in an area that was previously searched. It might be a cornfield, a culvert, a gully, a drain pipe. Somewhere that you couldn't see driving by in a car. If people know MT's average time to run a mile, they could figure out
approximately where she'd be 15 mins. from home. Folks could search on foot or on bikes to get a better view of those hard to access places. Anyway, this is my personal theory. I sure hope I am wrong. My heart goes out to family/friends hoping against hope.

I continue to be impressed with the interviews RT gives to the press. This link is to one he did for CNN/HLH, and was posted on Ashleigh Banfield's verified fb page yesterday (8/8). (AB is an anchor of CNN/HLN's Crime & Justice show).

In this interview, RT responds to a question concerning what the police are telling him/the family. In his response, he states that they (the family) are told not to read too much into any one lead ... and that there are dozens of leads that they (LE) are tracking down just as aggressively, but they aren't part of the public record and the media's not following those (the leads).

Just something to consider until the next PC.

(note, I didn't place this in quotes, as the transcription is mine and it may not be exact, but catches the essence of what was said.)

They keep making new names up on the FB page, I think if they were on here they'd already be causing trouble. JMO. I've haven't seen anything like what is/was posted on there over here.

And you won't. That is why we are grateful to be part of WS.
