I also find that interesting. If they are not sharing information is because they already checking on someone and that someone could be related. Maybe they asked the dad to give that statement of understanding so that the abductor can release MT. Also maybe all the attention towards WC was so that they can get the read abductor in a comfort zone.

Had MT's family given pressers every day?

Couple of quick thoughts -
1 - a few people are confusing “voluntarily went with someone” to “voluntarily disappeared”. She may have voluntarily got into a car with someone (friend, neighbor acquaintance), but something went wrong and then she disappeared as opposed to she voluntarily went with someone to start a new life, escape pressures, etc.
2) If she was abducted by a townie who had a secret crush or who decided to do this on the spur of the moment, it’s possible many people actually saw him that night but never gave it another thought. I’m sure there were cars on the street that night in Brooklyn, but people only notice “suspicious” vehicles not ones they know as belonging to neighbors or friends. Because there isn’t a precise timeline known to the general public we haven’t heard of someone in town saying, “I saw my neighbor Joe Smith driving down that street about that time.”

I don't believe he fabricated it at all. I believe that is what he was told by the LEO interviewing (or speaking to) him. And this is why, IMO, local LE isn't being kept quite in the loop. People know each other, they speak casually. LE or not, they're human.

Moooo
So in your opinion, do you think local LE gave the neighbor incorrect info or that they divulged information that was correct but was supposed to be kept quiet?

Listen to the audio: Man fears he was last person to see missing college student

"Jogged down the street and up the hill..."

What hill? Maybe he was talking on and on or fuzzy memory?

But, I thought someone said she was spied from inside a house looking out a window. So one would not see anyone jogging for any distance. Was it someone else who reported her sighting?

And why would authorities search the house of a 'observer'. That's odd. Might discourage people from phoning in.

Prolly nothing....
He probably just knew the terrain and always referred to up or down the street as "up the hill". He didn't necessarily see her go up or down the hill, just knew it was there.

Yeah. It looks like she was looping back to the house.
maybe she did make it back to the house like some have been saying.

Just an aside re: "dinner". I live in an area where they call lunch dinner, and what to me is dinner is called supper. Where I grew up we called supper either that or dinner, but we called lunch lunch and never dinner. I still forget and say dinner when I mean supper, and it really confuses people here. I know people who think dinner/supper is around 7-8, and some who think it's 5-6:30. I don't know what time normal dinner/supper time is there, or if there even is one for her family?
My mom was from Iowa and so it's breakfast, lunch, dinner, the latter in the 5:30-6:00 range. Supper is fancier and for the lower middle class like us, happened only on holidays, Maundy Thursday occasionally featuring.

This^^^^. Growing up in the Midwest, the late meal was always supper. Not sure about the rest of the country?

Well I’ll tell you this. I was a 4.0 student in college and high school and graduated with honors from college with an engineering degree. Being intelligent and being naive are too way different things and I am speaking about myself here. I was very book smart but very sheltered. Someone on SM showed me a ton of attention and I liked it. This person seemed trustworthy and charming and we were “just friends”. I guess if all this makes me unintelligent then so be it, but I don’t think so. It makes me naive for trusting people I shouldn’t.
I don’t think she was looking to have a relationship with anyone else and I never said that. I think she was being nice to someone she met online and that is all. Again I’ll say this I don’t think she was doing anything wrong.
Exactly! I came from a small town and was not exposed to a lot of the "worldly evils" until I went to college. I was a straight A student, so I was intelligent - but I wasn't world smart. I was engaged, but it was to someone from my hometown. I found myself in a situation where another guy was giving me a lot of attention - if he would have asked me to end the engagement, I would have. He didn't ask, I didn't end the engagement, and no - the marriage didn't last. Hard lesson learned.

First off, THANK YOU again to the creator of this map. Absolutely fantastic.

The route here appears to begin at 7:30 PM and take her:

- W. Des Moines St. (JD's house) to W. Pershing Dr.
- W. Pershing Dr. to Jackson St.
- Turn left on Jackson St. at Casey's and down E. 2nd St.
- Last known sighting between 8-9 PM on E. 2nd St. heading towards Mills St. which is next to a field and kind of out there OR turning left on Williams St. and going back through neighborhoods

After that, there's nothing we know of. LE has searched heaviest near WC's property about 15 miles south which is further away from the home. Absolutely everything at this time points to her being taken (or leaving) on the run.

However, I'm wondering what her normal route even was. If she kept heading south and ended up somewhere near E. 2nd St. and Mills - where was she going to turn to go back to the home? Obvious question is - was she planning on going back to the home? Her route based on eyewitness reports just took her continually further away from JD's house and at this point, it's not clear when she was going to turn back.

EDIT: Just realized there's another possible route:

- W. Des Moines to W. Pershing
- W. Pershing all the way down past funeral home to Williams St.
- Williams St. down to E. 2nd St. which puts her going past DR's home
- Path would then be to take E. 2nd St. back to Jackson St. taking a right at Casey's
- That path would bring her back towards JD's house - especially if she was going to run down E. 2nd St. which turned into Historic Route 6 then go north back up North Orchard St. to E. Pershing Drive

Not sure if MT jogged in a linear fashion meaning she took the same route down as back or had a different path for whatever reason. If that path is the run, it seems strange that she'd be taken between Historic 6 and N. Orchard and nobody would see anything. Even if that was 8:00-9:00 PM it still would have been somewhat light out (or dusk).

Given Mollie's possible routes, how would as a runner, she possibly plan out her run if she were going to her mom's verses planning to return to the house, considering where it's uphill?

Thank you so much for this, ACG2x, and a quite belated welcome!

The map Rocks!

How do I link a video? going to look for it now. It was really a good interview.
Are you using a smart phone? On mine, even with videos, I just go to the button that you use to either text or email a link, but instead click “copy.” From there I come to WS thread and hold the touch screen down, within the reply box until I see a “paste” option. I hope that makes sense.

Supper and dinner are interchangeable here in NY. Although Sunday dinner is earlier (in Italian American households in my experience).

Not a big point, but I think it is the other way around. The fancy people out east have breakfast (then change to afternoon clothes) lunch, (then change to evening clothes) dinner.

In Iowa it is breakfast, dinner, supper.

It was explained this way: traditionally 'dinner' is the largest meal. Midwestern farmers would have a larger meal at noon, and a smaller meal in the evening -- thus supper.

IDK. I eat like a pig no matter what.

JMO The "dinner" issue is a nothingburger......I think MT did plan to jog to moms, eat brats, or nuke em if everyone else had eaten....probably on the run.....not sitting at a table with grace and linen...., pick up the cake ingredients and drive the car back to D's house, let the dogs out, study a bit (or bake the cake?) and go to bed. Someone abducted her before she got to mom's.........JMO
Her mom apparently messaged her that they were having "brats" to which she replied either "ok" or something to that effect. Perhaps her mom knew it wasn't a favorite of hers and because of that wasn't surprised when she didn't show up.

My 17 year old son has had all of my private info since he was about 14. He is the ONLY person on this earth that I absolutely trust with my life!
Omg. That is so sweet and he must be one heckuva young man.

So much to consider after reading posts, thread after thread, it’s like this investigation is going from wide open to very narrow lines of actual facts. I appreciate the work being done here as the threads are moderated very close and rules are applied to all.
I think Mollie is alive and this is based on their not being enough facts that point to her being deceased. I believe this will have not sure who in the family said it but used the word “odd” conclusion or ending that would be a surprise??? Anyone remember a family member saying something like this? Plus the weird comments from Mollies brothers?? Having Mollie when she returns Take down the missing posters, and have her wear the Missing T-shirt....The mother saying in that raw interview “When she left... clapped hands... went missing” the boyfriend saying he has words to whoever is holding Mollie he won’t or can’t say on TV....
I agree with ex FBI profiler O’Toole That Mollie knew the person or had a relationship with them, or the non threatening demeanor. People can surprise you and this is what is suggested I believe by the family. FBI working on getting to know Mollie?

I so agree with this theory.....I know it is not favorable after 48 hours....but in this current world situation....all we have is hope.

The cameras were not working next door at TIP I believe because of lightening. (is that right?) They are only open until 4:00. Do they normally have lights on at night there? Were the lights out too? Was the parking lot completely dark?

Best Italian is in a small diner on the main drag in Albany. Best omelet is in Buffalo NY. Best Pizza is Frank Pepe's in New Haven CT....
