Note to self: Just because there is bait in the water, it doesn't mean the little fishies have to bite.

I found the answer. A first degree murder conviction for a minor is a life sentence with a chance at parole in 25 years.
Don't people almost always get out early though? Way early? Just seems I keep reading how people hardly ever do full sentences, esp. minors. Like parole board is years earlier than forecast. Right or wrong, for me just depends on the case at hand.

Police are allowed to lie to suspects, but I wonder if they're allowed to lie under terms of a surrender agreement? This is assuming a lawyer isn't representing a suspect and no written agreement is requested.

It's hard. I'm new. I'm learning.

I see value in this approach! May I borrow it and post how I see the probabilities differently?

Abduction location possibilities IMO
• Inside the house 0%
• Driveway to house as she returned from her run 0%
• Somewhere along her run -- perhaps in the direction of the hog farm 0% (She didn't run out there, and LE told witness she made it home from her run)
• Theory 3 -- < 5%
• Somewhere along her walk to her mother's house -- > 95%

Also:
• Stranger < 2%
• Friend < 5%
• Acquaintance >93%

• Female 0%
• Male 100%

The only snag I have with your greatest probability is that she was purportedly last known wearing her running clothes, coupled with her (streamlined) running tech/gear. If she was en route to her mom's to eat/get the car for the next day, it seems she would have grabbed her wallet/ID/etc beforehand, which purportedly was still at the house.

JMO.

This is another of the big mysteries of the timeline. Why did he text in morning and not previous night? When he didn't get a response to text in the am why wasn't that a red flag something was up at that point? Why wait to get a call from BF that MT didn't show up to work that day? Why did work call BF and not Mom or Brother? Why go to the movies when your sister is missing or you haven't heard from her? So many questions about the shared car situation and why it was ok for MT to possibly be walking or jogging back in the dark to pick up car?
No offense to the men here, but I do think that it's a guy thing. Men are more apt to not be on social media, they don't reply to msgs like women do, they are more lax about keeping in touch. Also most people rationalize things, the old "when you hear hoofbeats, think horses not zebras" thing. When someone doesn't respond most people would make a assumption that the phone is dead, or the msg didn't go through, or the person is in the shower, etc.

Question:
Does anyone know for sure if there will be a presser tomorrow? what time?
Thank you in advance!

One correction - no time was given when she was doing homework.

New details provide insight into night Mollie Tibbetts was last seen
Family members told KCCI on Saturday that evidence shows she was doing homework on her computer late in the evening on July 18. Authorities declined to release a specific time, saying it could hinder the investigation.
If she was the one who logged into her University of Iowa account that night, it lends credence to her being taken against her will. Why would she be doing homework late that night if she knew that she was about to run away?

It was because she has family there.
Yes, but unless they thought she ran away, that wouldn't matter. If you think someone's been abducted, where they have extended family wouldn't matter unless you think someone from that extended family committed the abduction. There didn't seem to be any indication that they thought she had run away so that never made much sense to me.

I was reading over other cases where the persons who disappeared were found alive and what the circumstances were and what led to them being found. One case I read which could apply to MT's case and it hasn't been mentioned ... abductors posing as church members seeking help. They could have pretended their car was broken down on the side of the road, out of gas etc. They could have said they had no phone to use due to strict church rules, and they could have flagged her down or knowing how helpful and kind she is, MT could have wanted to stop and help. Then they ask and she allows them to use her phone to call AAA or named a totally random person. They take her phone then it quickly turns into an abduction and off they drive with MT on the freeway that runs through town.

Good point and I do recall somewhere someone stated, perhaps DJ, that the door didn't have any scratch marks on it. I have a dog and if he were locked up and I was in distress or he even heard a tiny scuffle, he would be barking like mad and scratching and pushing against the door. My dog is actually capable of opening some doors in our house I kid you not. We have to make sure to lock them so he doesn't get out. I have a picture I took when he was rushed to emergency and had to have an operation for bloat. He had been at a daycare that day because we were having the floors polished. He gets seperation anxiety and worked himself into a state where he bloated. Luckily the kennel owner was also a GSD owner and recognized the signs immediately. He loaded him in the truck and rushed him to a local vet where they performed the operation on him and he survived. I was insane that day because the GSD we had him we lost to bloat. I went to see the dog that afternoon and he was just up from surgery and pacing around. He could hear the people in the waiting room and he actually went to the door and turned the handle and opened it. I was taking a pic of him at the time because I thought it was adorable he was trying to get out and wanted to send it to my hubby to show him he was ok. No sooner did I take the pic and he got the door open and was out the door like a flash. The vet had a stray cat that they kept in the office like a house cat and my dog went right after it. This was all within an hour of his surgery. He is an incredibly smart and determined dog and he figures things out real fast.

How adorable! I have a 5 lb Morkie (pictured on my profile). I'll never have to worry about her opening a door. haha But she sure would ferociously scratch up a door if she thought a family member was in distress on the other side.

That’s impossible. We are discussing the same information we had a week ago.
I was thinking about this earlier...at least they are updating us that they can’t update us yet lol...better than cold silence...at least we know they are working it behind the scenes...in some cases imo we don’t always know this...

I think they should hire Andy Griffith and Barney Fife to find her it kinda reminds me of Mayberry RFD. I’m tired just couldn’t resist. This case is driving me nuts. Goodnight y’all. Hopefully tomorrow we will get answers.

Iowa has mandantory sentencing laws on at least some crimes.

Oh Mollie, where are you?

As much as I hate to say it, I think it's time for LE to look at state/county parks within easy driving distance of Brooklyn, if they haven't already. I'm still hoping. And I think live recovery should still be the priority. But evidence preservation is imperative if the worst has happened.
My mom lives at the state park and she and I are still perplexed why LE has not searched it. Everyone in the area knows Rock Creek.
