The silence is deafening on this subject ... from everyone.

The more I read these threads and hear the info they have released on this and what they have said nothing on, I am convinced she didn't leave on her own (seems to be very social with those closest to her) and that she was not abducted by a stranger. My best guess is someone she knew and maybe even considered to be a close guy friend (outside of her bf) is the key to solving this.

I'm beginning to think she did go to her mom's for dinner. That makes more sense to me.
So you mean you think she had dinner at her moms house and they just haven’t confirmed that in the media/LE reports or you mean you think she headed to her moms for dinner and didn’t get there?

If it’s the former that actually makes a lot of sense. First it would explain why her mom didn’t wonder why she didn’t show for dinner when it appears she had confirmed she would come. She didn’t freak because she did come to dinner. And it also makes the call to her mom asking if she was in a house at 9:45 a little more understandable since maybe they were asking her if Mollie was still at the moms house after dinner at 9:45.

But on the other hand if she did have dinner at her moms it contradicts what her brother said about being the last one known to see her when he dropped her off since surely by then he would know his mom had dinner with her even if he didn’t have dinner at his moms house.

Family members told KCCI on Saturday that evidence shows she was doing homework on her computer late in the evening on July 18. Authorities declined to release a specific time, saying it could hinder the investigation.
New details provide insight into night Mollie Tibbetts was last seen

This could be very good news for the investigation. If Mollie was working in an LMS (learning management system) they will have access to very detailed info regarding what she was doing, and more importantly *where* she was doing it from, and *when* precisely she was doing it.

Don’t know if her summer classes were through U of Iowa, but if so, they use Canvas as their LMS: ICON | Information Technology Services

Source: work experience in in instructional technology (but primarily with Moodle, not Canvas)

I note that the article says the family (bolded by me) told KCCI this new detail about Mollie doing homework. I wonder if it slipped out to the press, and authorities didn’t want this info out to the public. I looked at the Finding Mollie Tibbets FB page, and thus far they have not posted this new information detail.

It seems that she was walking east on W. Des Moines Street and then turned either left or right on 398. Blue arrow would take her past his house, then if she turned left where the green arrow is pointing, that would take her in the direction of her mom's house.

The article just says "Wednesday evening," no time given.

My guess is that the path to her mom's might take her north up Park, rather than the main road, as that had a sidewalk clear to the high school (according to Google Maps, which is probably out of date anyway). The main road doesn't appear to have sidewalks the whole way. That would leave her cutting through the high school parking lot/area and out the far side before coming out on the main road close to her mom's road.

After I heard about the homework, I wondered if she didn't head out dressed for work to head over to her mom's to get a car early on Thursday, and got caught by the weather and something happened. However, if it was as simple as that, I'm sure she would have been located by now.

I can't get all the known "facts" as they have been presented to fit into any satisfactory scenario. For example, if she headed out Thursday morning to get the care, I question whether she would have left her wallet behind when she would have been taking kids to the fair - although it is possible she stuck some money in her pocket or somewhere.

You got to think if people seen her jogging, they would of seen a strange person or car following her to

Unless there wasn't anyone around to see
... or if seen, car wasn't strange or fully noted

Obviously, I'm in the minority here.

To my knowledge, KCCI is the ONLY one reporting this "working on the computer at night" and inferring that it was a statement made by the "anonymous family member", and
"Anonymous Investigators" are not confirming this.

So, no names are given? No interview is published?

One thing I've learned, never give credence to any news source that says "family member" or "investigator" or "someone close to the case"...if they don't have a name, or there's not an interview backing it up, or LE does not confirm, I call BS.

RSBM. I think if she went up Park she wouldn't have passed the neighbor's house, which I think is between Park and 398. He says she either turned north or south but she couldn't do that at Park.

Her brother dropped her off at her bf's around 5:30.
i know that, did she drive the car to her moms after work or did the brother go and pick her up

Perhaps, if she WAS taken overnight/early in the AM, she ended up not going to her mom's for dinner/to get the car the night before because of doing said HW. Now, in this theory, I'm not sure what she was doing walking nonchalantly around 730 when the neighbor saw her. Perhaps doing just that? Going for a walk? Maybe taking a break from HW?

So she ends up not getting the car that night. A lot of people are asking what were her plans for a ride then. Maybe she planned to walk and get the car in the morning instead. Tired from HW, knows it's close by. Now I know people have said the weather was awful the next day but it's possible she didn't know it would be raining or pay any attention to the weather reports. So maybe she planned to wake up, get dressed for work, and then walk to her mom's to get the car. The sun would probably already be up by that time unless she was leaving at like 530. But then something happened to her at home before she could leave to get the car.
I have said this too. She probably just planned on texting her brother the next day and that’s why he texted her to ask if she needed the ride still. He assumed she didn’t need one. He’s not expecting his sister to go missing. I don’t think there’s much more to look into on that part.

idk. But it would stand to reason if she drove the car to her mom's after work they wouldn't have had the texting about dinner around 7:00 but I could be wrong.

I don’t think she would have the keys, I think they were either in the car at her moms, or in her moms house.

you think if she was walking to get the car she would have a set of keys. So if she went missing while jogging that would of been an item on her.

Why would what time she was doing homework impede the investigation?

If she had a stalker, where would he be located to watch her? In looking at pics of the house, everything is wide open in that area. Someone would be spotted right away.

This! I keep trying to think of a reason why that time release would impede the investigation!
Following this thread closely but haven’t posted because don’t have much to add.. other than prayers and hope for her..and her family!
