If Mollie was abducted from her home after she had been doing homework, it's also possible that someone entered the house through an unlocked front door while she was jogging.

For example, Russell Williams was known to enter homes and remain silent/hidden in the home until he decided to attack. His last victim, Jessica Lloyd, was assaulted at her home and then moved to a second location where he continued to assault her. He parked his vehicle in the trees along the side of her property.
That guy left a trail though linking him to other crimes. Somebody could have parked on or by the cornfield though

I feel pretty confident they did as much as possible given that multiple people had likely been in and out before they would get a chance to do so.

Right, I'm sure the house had already been compromised by family/friends checking there for her unfortunately. But still one would hope in spite of that, they did all they could there

What difference would that make? Would they still not make their own tests?
it matters because nobody knows what they touched or moved.

First time here- Just wanted to say you are a spectacular group of people!!!
As for Mollie- to me she seems squared away 100 percent- she seems to have all aspects of her life where they should be- positive relationships with family, bf, coworkers, a college major etc. I just don't see her as recklass in any way- not a risk taker- She seems 100 percent put together- I do feel she is alive I do feel she is being held by someone she knows- not inner circle but knows in an more casual manner- it is so very heartbreaking to see those who care for her speak- I don't know Mollie but admire her for being 20 and so put together- I cannot imagine where she is or what she is going thru but my thoughts stay with her- praying for her -

What makes you think she’s alive?

Have you ever heard of a crime scene not being sealed?
Seems to indicate LE has good reason to believe that the home was not a crime scene.

Of course, it would be hard to do so with two dogs in the house.

Yes. But wouldn’t they tape it off so they could do as much forensics as possible?
We usually see photos of law enforcement and techs with bags and items of evidence. None in this case that I have seen.

No contacts? No glasses?

She may have had several extra pairs of glasses. It's so easy to buy them online these days, and a lot cheaper too.

Exactly especially if they thought it was a stranger who had entered the house, could easily find DNA that didn't belong there..I really think they believe she went willingly and nothing happened in the house especially if they haven't sealed the home as a crime scene...

Would this mean they are confident that nothing happened whatsoever in the home? That she at least left the home willingly? Or could it just be that they did a terrible job?

I am very curious as to if any veterans here suspect a random abduction? And if so, why? Tia.
It's hard for me to suspect any one possibility. Do you mean random, as in a stranger abduction, or random as in unplanned/opportunistic? Brooklyn, Iowa is a rural town with a population of 1,468 as of 2010. It's a place where everyone knows everyone. Still, there might be delivery trucks passing through town now and then. I would guess that, in a place such as Brooklyn, the odds are greater that it's a local person than an out-of-towner, just because there are fewer people with business in town. Now as far as an unplanned abduction by a local person, I'm sure there could be a person who would do such a thing living in a small community, but he'd be less likely to get away with it. And then it could have been an out-of-town stranger, satisfying both definitions of random.

Mollie uses an iphone per her instagram.

Reasons why an iphone will go straight to voicemail.

Your number has been blocked.
The phone is on airplane mode.
The phone is turned off or broken,
The phone is not in range of a cell tower.
The phone is on 'do not disturb'.
Your data plan is unpaid, or limited.

Any others?

Your battery is dead?

LE has not yet established a "crime scene".

This, exactly. Also if they did a thorough search as soon as they could, and found nothing, then I wouldn't necessarily expect them to seal it off indefinitely.

I imagine that plenty of people touched her belongings before LE got there, and I imagine they have those belongings collected off site.

I think if there were very little for them to collect, it could well have not been caught on camera when they did it.

What makes you think she’s alive?
Her father's pleas- the way her bf and brothers and mother speak of her- at the PC the tone did not seem to me to be one of searching for a body but rather directed towards someone who has Mollie - I cannot fully explain but I in no way believe that she is no longer here

That makes sense for sure. What about the dogs and LE probably not sealing the house, though

If she was jogging when someone entered the home, that person knew that the dogs were in the basement when she was out. Let's suppose that she returned from the jog, let the dogs out of the basement, did homework, removed her contacts/glasses and was just in bed when she learned that someone was in the house. A calculating, experienced abductor might want to stage the scene such that it appeared that she disappeared while she was jogging, perhaps telling her to put the dogs in the basement. For example, think about the Iowa cousins: bikes were left at the lake, bodies were found 20 miles away. Police don't know where or when the girls were abducted, but the scene was staged such that police spent a lot of time looking in the wrong place.

We know that it took police some time to figure out where Mollie was abducted, and the dogs in the basement would suggest that it happened while she was jogging. Since everything at home appeared normal, investigators may not necessarily have assumed that the home is a crime scene until it was too late - until many people had been in and out of the house.

Regarding the Fitbit and the cell phone that probably led to police searches of farms 15 miles South of Brooklyn, this could also be a calculating decisions by the abductor to lead police to the wrong location. That is, if he drove to that area and then disabled both the Fitbit and phone prior to taking Mollie to another location, police would waste a lot of time looking in the wrong place.

There are so many minute details LE is not giving the Public. I think it speaks volumes. IMO

If somebody came and got her in the morning, i doubt anyone would notice a car
