We usually see photos of law enforcement and techs with bags and items of evidence. None in this case that I have seen.
I wonder if this is part of the small town holding things close to the vest thing? I think it would have been before tons of media swarmed in, probably.

It seems like the media really started going crazy once it was announced the FBI had been brought in, but I would guess maybe the FBI and DCI had already been there a bit at that point, and may have completed whatever they did at the house.

If the dogs usually sleep with her and they were found put in the basement for the day, then it means she left the house as she was getting ready for
I really think somebody came to get her in the morning for work and she let them while she got ready or they came over to get her and she went outside to greet them. Thats when they toook her

This makes the most sense, or a neighbor came over to ask a favor. But why the boyfriend's comment about locking doors at night? a red herring?

Details on How to Contribute to Mollie Tibbetts Reward Fund to be Released Thursday

Greg Willey with Crime Stoppers of Central Iowa says the organization will announce Thursday how contributions can be made to a reward fund for information about Tibbetts that leads to her discovery or an arrest in the case. Willey says several details still need to be worked out before the announcement can be made. A time for the news conference has not been set yet.

Mollie’s family is expected to take part in the announcement Wednesday.

The current reward in the case is $2,000.

So anyone with info might just sit on it waiting for a bigger payday. SMH.

I'm not a fan of rewards. It brings the circus into town. So many people make up stuff just to have a shot at that money.

There also as been no mention of what time she typically gets up to go to work and how long it takes her to get ready either. What is her normal routine in the morning?

This is baffling. You know the techs always take bags and bags of evidence even if they aren’t sure any of it will be helpful at all. But here is appears they didn’t take any or even seal off the house at any point. Wouldn’t they take some or even all of Mollie’s clothes, especially undergarments? They don’t know her. Sure she had a long term boyfriend but what if she met someone else and had a consensual interaction with him. Then she leaves the house voluntarily with him and he turns nefarious. Clothes or sheets of hers left behind could have biological traces of this. Not saying she did this. But it’s just an example of reasons why takin tons of stuff now that could be useless is better than wishing you had later. Did they even do fingerprinting in the house or take exclusionary fingerprints or DNA from the others who live in the house? This is just weird.

Yes. But wouldn’t they tape it off so they could do as much forensics as possible?
They may have taped it off, but it has been 2 weeks. It would not be taped off anymore. Usually a crime scene is done being processed and released back to the owner/resident, etc in less than 48 hours.

All of this may have happened before it hit the news that she was missing.

I would think it’s ridiculous that she’s being held somewhere, but then there’s the Sherri Papini case. Ya never know....

  • #349
Possibly.Bec

Possibly. Because of the proximity of the large interstate highway. Highway runs for about 2000miles, I think. That and the seeming totality of her vanishing. LE has stopped searching locally ?
Any truck stops close by?

DCI - July 20
FBI - July 23

For example, Russell Williams was known to enter homes and remain silent/hidden in the home until he decided to attack. His last victim, Jessica Lloyd, was assaulted at her home and then moved to a second location where he continued to assault her. He parked his vehicle in the trees along the side of her property.

He was in the middle of the field beside her house. This is a few minutes from me. Highly recommend the book "A New Kind of Monster" about him if anyone wants to read about that case.

That makes sense for sure. What about the dogs and LE probably not sealing the house, though

This is what makes me think she left willingly, with someone and then it turned bad. Or someone came to the door, and she left with them. Friend? 2nd BF? LE agent? All speculation by me.

That guy left a trail though linking him to other crimes. Somebody could have parked on or by the cornfield though

It was his car hiding that tipped the police off though.

sorry messed up the post... was merely wondering if she was taken by the person picking her up from work, why did the BF recently tell Fox News that the house doors were likely unlocked and now people were locking them

Doesn't that usually correlate with cases where it turns out the victim died in the home, though?

  • #357
What makes you think she’s alive?
They haven't found a body. Unless and until that happens, there's a chance that she is alive.

  • #358
Unfortunately after Ariel Castro...and AH...
yep and the guy gave them all rides, one home from work, and one walking home and i cant remember about the other girl

I agree completely. Unfortunately it might not help get anyone to come forward even if they know something...I'm reminded of my other 'pet' case on here--Katelyn Markham...wasn't there somewhere around $100K+ offered for her case & while her remains were found, that reward money sits there and what happened to her continues to be unknown...
