My understanding is that they tracked the car. They saw Mollie in video/s and the car in the back round. Then it was a matter of finding out who was driving the car.

Does anyone know how long it took for the video to be turned over? I sure hop it was within the first few days, if not What were they waiting for the reward to hit $500,000?

I have no doubt this guy committed similar crimes in other countries.

This is a prime example of why LE sometimes withholds information. If they had made it known to the public that they were looking for this man he would probably be back in Mexico or some where far away by now. Mollies body would not have been found and there would be no one to hold accountable. He probably would have slipped back into the country again sometime in the future under a different name and committed another crime just like this one.

So sad. My heart goes out to the family of Molly.

What hits home again, is that there is a loss of safety in the United States. Don't run alone.

Sounds like more support for proper mental illness treatment is a better way to think then blaming media that "There isn’t evidence that media makes people kill"

Media, in various shapes and forms, can fuel a desire. As for mental illness treatment, essentially the only remedy for violent sociopaths is iron bars and stripes.

What? He had his car? Then he was running beside her? Did he knock her down near that dirt stretch of 385 headed back toward DJ's house and come back with his car? I am confused. No one saw this whole thing happen?
He got out of his car and ran beside her at which point she told him to leave her alone ( he had been following her close, with his car) She told him again to leave her alone or she was calling the Police, then she got her phone out and at that point he took her, but he claims to have "blacked out" at that point...

I just saw FB, I think ex liked remembering MT FB Page which is different than being a FB friend.
You're right! I didn't notice that at first. Somebody posted that CR's "ex-girlfriend" and Mollie had ran cross country together in high school. Although, now I'm having a hard time finding that link.It will be interesting as the story unfolds to find out if this was as random as it seems. As of right now, there seems to be nothing definitive showing otherwise. So sad for Molly and her family.

I moved house on Friday and it’s been an an exceptionally busy and stressful few days and it pained me that after following Mollies threads constantly with an almost obsessive fervour, that I had to come off line for a few days. So I was so very sad when I logged back into Websleuths a short while ago for the first time in days, to see the updates regarding Mollie being found deceased. I really hoped that the way it was playing out, she would still be alive , being held captive by an obsessed stalker and that with all the attention surrounding her disappearance, she would be set free - unharmed physically and with psychological injuries that could be healed in time. Now I realise that it was just wishful thinking and a way to cope with the thought of what had possibly happened to her. So if I feel so sad sat here in the UK , I cannot imagine what her family and friends and co workers, not to mention her BF are feeling and my heart aches for them all. And also for all you wonderful people here on WS who just want the best possible ending. Sadly, today, that’s not to be . ❤️ Mollie RIP sweet child ...

How did he kill her? I didn't see that part. Was she left to slowly die from internal bleeding under a pile of corn stalks for possibly days?

5'6, 130. Damn, the guy was my size exactly. smh so much for a false sense of whi I could take.
This is exactly a point I made many many threads back....the experiment I had my over confident daughter perform with her then scrawny boyfriend. She thought she could keep him away and prevent her from grabbing her. He not only grabbed her he also prevented her from running. Women need to be realistic and not think of themselves as superwomen. There ARE differences in our anatomy that make men stronger than women in most instances.

I don't think they withheld anything. They just recently got the video, and in the last 24-36 hours determined he was the driver at which point he was immediately picked up and interrogated. It's not like they knew it was him for 3 weeks or anything and were just looking for him.

I've not been following this case that closely but what a shock to learn who is suspect.

Poor Mollie.

We need a better vetting process.

RIP Mollie.

And how fascinating that he blacked out and doesn't remember how she became dead, but "from memory" could lead police to where he left her body.
I know how convenient!
That's the best story he could come up with
selective memory?

But what if the guy is wanted for murder in another country? Then what? LE said their was an immigration hold on him.

We got him and we are keeping him. If he was arrested here on a lesser charge than elsewhere, maybe. But we like to mete out our own justice here in the states.

Remember the person posting here who claimed WC was Following him? Didn’t they say he was driving a dark malibu.... that is strange.
It was probably him having a laugh that WC was being framed. Maybe that should be reported to LE.

LE said they had been looking at it for a couple of weeks. I'm sure there were other videos they were looking at so it could have been turned over right away but they didn't get to it right away.

As someone who works in the medical field I’ve been a medical assistant since 2011, I worked on a neuroscience unit in the hospital can we please stop acting like there is no possible way that he could have blacked out? HONESTLY, NOT TO DEFEND HIM, medical things like that are far more common than you would realize and we don’t know his medical history to not say he has an underlying condition that would cause this, he could’ve been drinking all day before he decided to attack her people can black out please have some respect for science it does happen. And yes you can remember everything before and everything after a black out. By saying that he is just using that as an excuse, he may be but it discredits people who actually experience blackouts.

ETA: even if he never admits it through an autopsy the judge is going to know exactly what happened to her during the timeframe that he claims he doesn’t remember so please can we not focus on that ?

Actually he himself says he "blocked his memory". Not really a blackout imo.
