IA - Mollie Tibbetts, 20, Poweshiek County, 19 Jul 2018 *Arrest* #36

I suspect there is a difference between self-preservation lying (illegally entering the U.S. with intent to find work to provide for his family) and maintaining an ongoing 'pattern' of lying to cover for an underlying evil.

Acquaintances of CR and of those he hangs and lives with claims to have overheard or discussed with them their experiences in Mexico, which was described as being very negative, read: horrendous.

I believe CR was looking for a way to become a legitimate citizen or at least be perceived as being a 'man' (very important in his culture). What better way than to attempt to win the favor of a particularly popular American woman? It is possible he never intended to hurt/murder MT.

Of course, worst case, CR was simply looking for an outlet to serve a primal urge and unfortunately, MT became his target.

I'm leaning toward one scenario over the other.
I don’t believe for a second that his was anything but a planned and executed assault.

He had lived in the country long enough to realize that approaching a woman on the street, especially one who was running, wasn’t a gateway to some further relationship.

From what we know, he had been around women, had a girlfriend, and at the very least, was aware of social norms.

He saw Mollie, and he had to have her. Whether he initially intended to kill her, I’m not sure. But I absolutely believe that he intended to have her sexually, no matter what she had to say about it. The result speaks for itself.

Maybe a search of CR's 'premises' was already done by LE working on the case (local/State/FBI) right away when CR was questioned and while he was leading them to her body and was arrested, it hasn't been published. There were one or more other locations that were crime scenes (where she was abducted, where she was found), and they would also be looking to see if there was any evidence where he lived related to Mollie's abduction and murder.

The announcement on MSM today that the Omaha division of the FBI mobilized to search the grounds where CR lived seems like it could be that the autopsy results that came out today on cause of death (COD) triggered a new and separate, federal response due to possibly other murders with same COD FBI has been investigating, and they're looking for evidence on the property that could tie CR to other cases. JMO of course.

Maybe couldn't get a search warrant until it was declared a homocide and they could specify what type of weapon they were looking for.

Given his crime, I don't know that his lies can be parsed. He may well simply be a person who lies. Even about forgetting that he killed someone. I also don't believe he wanted win her favor and didn't intend to hurt her. JMO

Because most people who have horrendous experiences in any country don't hunt down women and inflict multiple sharp force injuries when the woman isn't interested in them. Or may not have even seen him coming and wasn't even given the opportunity to reject him.

If he ambushed her, which is more plausible than stopping the car, running to catch up with her and running alongside her, then having to somehow incapacitate her and drag her back to the car, or convince her to walk back to his car and get in the trunk, he is beyond someone who's seeking legitimacy. Again, JMO

Agreed.

Excellent Point!
Thanks! Hope springs eternal LE is gaining leverage from facts in the case of Mollie's murder to solve other cases with similar MOs and/or CODs, and that's why there's a new federal presence (Omaha FBI) searching on the property where CR lived ;) please and thank you LE!!!!

Family, attorney of Mollie Tibbetts' suspected killer fight back

The aunt said that Rivera — whom she described as a good father to his daughter — lived with Monarrez until about a year and a half ago, when the couple broke up. Monarrez has since moved out of the area.

"He was a good person. He was a jokester," the aunt said of Rivera, through a translator. "For us, he was a good and normal person. Not aggressive or violent, no. He was normal just like us."
You know, it's important to realize that for the most part he probably was a good and likable person. That's what the people around him saw. Don't fool yourself into thinking you can spot a dangerous person because somehow they give off that evil vibe.

I absolutely agree. I will be shocked if there was no sexual assault. JMO

seemed to be more to the Omaha fbi mobilized today but the article disappeared as I was trying to read it so I have no idea what it was about but got far enough to see it wasn't just one place. maybe something else will come out about it. might have been a misreport, I was reading and it just switched to article not found. I don't know name of what I was reading but seemed to be local report from Omaha.

They had a K-9 unit. I think they are looking for the crime scene. Mollie may have been held for several days before she was murdered.

Totally agree, he wasn’t looking to go out for a cup of coffee

Thank you. I’ve researched it for years. I was forced to by someone who stalked me for over 10 years. But I thought it was something missing from the brain, therefore they may be born that way. Thus, medications don’t help. I’ve literally read a stack of books and online articles. Not because I wanted to. There are two different camps it seems: those who say you are born with it and those who say it’s familial, but develops in childhood.
there are people born with certain types of brain damage that make them more prone to tantrum state and possibly lack empathy. these children require parents and doctors that help them to find other outlets for their rage. a co-worker's baby was not getting enough oxygen to his brain during a complicated delivery which caused his brain to become damaged. he has learning problems and definite personality problems. he throws tantrums and makes threats. for a while, his own sister was afraid of him. and this is a child...a child threatening to kill. my co-worker and the child's doctor have been working on helping him to find other ways to release his rage such as stomping on the floor or punching a pillow. I've been told he's made progress. his sister is not afraid of him anymore, though I'm not convinced any of them are safe around someone who is like that. so they learn to control it, but what if something really provoking happens. it just seems like he is a loose cannon, but what can you do. you can't lock every brain damaged kid away for their entire lives unless they actually commit a crime. Truthfully, I think it might not be one or the other. I think both nature and nurture can contribute.

Someone stated his parents were in the courtroom . If that's true it would indicate he came as a teenager with his family. Does anyone know how long he actually has been here? 4 - 7 hrs, but which is it?

Great point. We should look at unsolved cases that could possibly be related.
