There are folks you know and folks you know of. IMO Mollie maybe knew him to see. Seems their circle of friends was very different. IMO

Yes, but CR had specific intent and already told LE as much, so a dimished capacity defence is out. He had the mental capacity to drive a car and stalk her, and approach her but lacked the mental capacity to stop from killing her? That's a fascious excuse, and if true would justify every rape ever committed. It speaks to a lack of self control, not lack of mental capacity.
Well stated.

I lived in the Atlanta area at one time in my life, for about a year or so. There are some brutal cases that happen with an uncomfortable regularity throughout Atlanta. I lived there around the time that that Meredith Emerson went missing, & I found that case & its outcome both tragic & disturbing.

It wouldn’t surprise me at all if CB from ATL is a different guy from Iowa’s CBR. I brought it up because there is a community of combined knowledge on here that can analyze it better than what I am able to do alone. I agree, esp after hearing others input, it’s likely not the same CR.
My husband worked the Meredith Emerson case. That was an incredibly tragic case and is the case that opened my eyes to how certain areas we deem so safe can be the very place evil hides. Have you heard of the case out of Bartow County where a woman’s remains were found chopped up in a landfill? It just happened a week or so ago. I haven’t seen any updates on the case yet but check every day.

On the DeKalb County Clerk website, it has the DOB listed as 10/03/1997, height listed as 5'9", and the charge listed as theft by shoplifting. So it's probably not him.

I wonder why they list 2 different heights. The actual arrest is reported as 10/4-10/5 , which is around the date you found listed as the birthdate (the record was input when found at around 3 A.M. & the time of arrest is given as 10/4, but the footnote confuses me, I interpreted it to say that the record input date is used when the arrest time isn’t available)

I can not find another link at all soap mama.
Me neither. Do you have to have a special app or something? My phone told me I couldn't do it.

Intent can be formed in an instant. Legally. In this case I think it was formed long before. It was glaring to me that he admitted seeing Mollie running before. He has such an intense look about him. Scary IMO.

I never said that the defense will absolutely use diminished responsibility or that if they do that I feel it will be successful.

I found that it's allowed in Iowa. As we learn more we will see if the defendant has any chance of using that to negate a first degree murder charge. JMO

Ms Betsy, are you a psychologist? Just wondering what your best diagnosis would be at this point? I have a online research type education, part of it personal to me, and I have my ideas, but what do you think? (Sorry if you’ve posted your idea before, sometimes the thread moves too fast to keep up!)
Is anyone else thinking dissociative disorder psychopath?

Well, heck, guess we don't get to see it. No one is Periscoping it either.

Same problem for me. Shucks.

Oh well. Prayers for her and her family and friends.

Doesn't work for me either. That's why I threw the words 'might work' in my post. Links look good until to actually want to use them, then---not so much.

Do we have to be provided with a link to watch it? Don't know how that works. I don't know if I could bare to see their grief. I bet the media are jumping over fences to get footage. Those people should leave that poor family alone! Imagine grieving and people trying to get a glimpse of you!

Looks like you have to pay a bundle to see the livestream. It is not on of the local stations' livestreams. And it looks like national news is covering the video game tournament shootings this afternoon. If they were planning on showing the funeral or not, I have no idea.

It’s not on KCCI so perhaps closed to media as it should be.

I wonder if the media hadn’t asked the family for permission, who maybe vetoed the broadcast? If so, I really couldn’t blame them for seeking personal privacy during this time. They don’t deserve any of the rabid FB critique that generally folllows.

I have a difficult time differentiating motive and intent. Mass Guy explained it to me but I always need several examples. So intent basically is he meant to commit it and motive is the reason, or circumstances, that led one to commit a crime? I know it's not always necessary but they must show intent, is that right?

Yeah , I can see them selecting one media source to cover it, if they are actually live streaming it, right? Is live streaming basically news on the internet? So we will see it later?

Yes Jurors dont always get a motive. They do like one tho. Sometimes some evidence can give you an idea of the motive if there is a lack of evidence. Intent is needed to apply the appropriate charge.

So how can it be live streamed? Someone has to be doing it. Can it be anybody?
