No doubt the defence will arrange for all sorts of tests to be carried out and reports on his 'black out' spells produced for the court. They will get a whole load of expert witnesses.

I could see that happening if CR has a provable history of such "blocked memory" events, but as a one-time, single event (as in this case) it likely wouldn't carry significant weight. In fact, it might backfire as a jury might perceive it as CR having known what he was doing was so heinous that it caused him to "block" the memory.

I understand, so let me put it another way. Jurors are supposed to decide a case based on the facts and evidence, but I think most jurors, even if the prosecution does not make such a statement, will probably still arrive at that conclusion in their own minds. Should that enter into their determination of his guilt or innocence when deliberating? No. Would it? Perhaps. JMO

I know what you're saying I just don't agree with jurors voting on their feelings vs using only the evidence.

It works both ways. I've seen jurors vote not guilty because they ignored the evidence presented and went with the statements of the defense attorney. That's how Casey Anthony got away with murder.

Justice for all victims should include a fair trial for the accused. JMO

I see. So potentially his sentence could get overturned due to lack of proper legal procedure the first time around. I'll admit to being afraid of that scenario, but it's the cart so far ahead of the horse I'm just being *neurotic* now. Thanks

We'll see. Or, the younger people here will see what happens in 20, 30, 40, 50 years. We older folks won't be around. I'm a show me kind of person. As long as they follow through on the imposed actual life in prison sentence, I'm good.

In this case, and in Iowa, rest assured that life without parole means that CR will die in prison, or a state medical facility as an old man. Since he has an ICE detainer, hopefully the Feds will ship CR's body to his home country, and save Iowa the cost of digging a hole.

Actually we have no idea what really happened do we. All we have is the statement from the man we think killed Mollie and led us to her body.
He blacked out??? and nobody really knows what happened to her.
Coroner might give us some information once the autopsy is complete. Fitbit and phone, if found, might relay info.

BTW have they found the earphones he said were in his lap when he 'came to'?

I would think they must have them as he included them in his story. He only revealed what they already knew, where the digital print led to, and where he drove his car based on the video. All that he "doesn't remember" is what police DONT know. What a coincidence.

Haaa yeah. This case is going to trial. He will be convicted. He will die in prison. You’re right, we’re getting way ahead of ourselves.

The good thing is the CCTV footage LE has would of captured the vehicle from most angles as he was busy driving around; so they can check the current condition to the CCTV footage.

LE has stated they were not able to see license plate numbers; it is not clear if the plate appears on video or not. LE stated they identified the vehicle by unique 'features' visible on video, not by license plate identification.

At this stage now, all I am envisioning and hoping for are scenarios where MT suffered least..
As morbid as it sounds, the blindside hit causing blood to head or being struck by his car would offer the best chance that she had not even been conscious after the first strike …
Just listening to music one second and then boom, everything goes black.
There is some evidence to support this may have transpired this way, and that's what I'm hoping for..

What is the evidence that she was hit by the car? I missed that

A preliminary hearing could be postponed for many different reasons such as inclimate weather, a judge was not available, or the State requested a postponement.

The State is ready to go, and will not play around. I want to see what games Columbo for the defence will play!

There appeared to be damage in one of the photos. There is absolutely no reporting, or evidence that has been revealed, supporting this. It’s speculation only.

I- like many of you- am just SO tired of seeing people get away with ****. Plain & simple. Just over it. I just want to see more good triumph over evil before I saunter off this mortal coil not too far in the future. lol

Of course. That's why we want a jury that will do their job correctly and not fall for disingenuous defense statements. JMO

I think that it right, he dragged her by foot, my interpretation is by her foot, or feet, obviously he was on his feet dragging her into the cornfield. I believe this took place in upper far right pink area on the map 1900 block 385th. Where he put her over his shoulder and carried her into cornfield 20 ft., I believe was at the location he left her at 460 Ave east of intersection 200th St., where he led LE to her body. I don’t believe his story, his descriptions of his movements are not complete at all. I think he is a very sick, dangerous predator.

But the taxpayers will still pay for him for a very very long time should he make it in prison. I say he should serve his sentence in a Mexican prison but that is not how it works.
