Thank you. Do you know at what point he will have to enter a plea?He did not enter a plea.

Wow - how did I miss the location of the homicide! Can you provide the link so I can be in the know. I was under the impression that 1900 385th was the approx area where video footage collected, showing CR car making multiple pass by. TIA
IMHO I think it would be very difficult to completely remove all trace evidence from the trunk, especially trace blood evidence that can be seen only with use of CSI techniques. Ever try and totally clean a liquid spill in your trunk lol? I have and really hard! He could not get it professionally done for obvious reasons so i think there will be trace evidence found. here's hoping! MOO

That baby may also be considered a victim here.
PLEASE tell me than an innocent 3 year old child is NOT considered anything but a victim here! [bbm]
On WS, the term "victim" has a broad meaning. The word includes anyone, essentially, other than the perp/suspect.A victim in that his/her father will not be around to support the child. But that is true of every child of every felon and I've never heard other children called "victims" when we have a true victim who is deceased as is Mollie.
Not splitting hairs but feeling like she should not be called the same term as a live child who will have an opportunity to grow and live a full life which she has been denied.
I do keep forgetting about that affidavit being for homicide and that those times most likely reflect time of death. Since it is first degree on that affidavit, could those times be from time of pursuing (with intention) until time of death as all one event that ended in homicide? So the location is where it started (maybe they don't yet know where death occurred)? Or would they then need to list more than one location if they thought death occurred elsewhere?LE swore out an affidavit of application for a Homocide arrest warrant. On the 2nd page of the application there is a form that gives 1900 385th Ave as the location of the occurrence and 19:45 - 20:28 as the range for the time of occurrence of the crime of Homicide. LE MUST report the facts as they best understand them, at the point they apply for the warrant. The sworn statement signed by a commissioned Iowa LE officer says that a Homicide was committed (in or about the area of) 1900 385 Ave.
I'm sticking with what the cop said, until better official info comes down the pike. Telling a lie on the warrant application could cost the LEO his job, put him in jail and give CR a ticket to walk if the warrant were to be tossed. Ain't gonna happen.
It is my understanding that the area of Boundary and Middle Streets is where the video you describe was taken, and that MT then (apparently) ran East on 385 Ave to where the cited crime occurred. MSM had video of a reporter on the ground, and it looks like a city neighbourhood with houses everywhere. On Google satellite, 1900 385 Ave just a mile or so away, looks pretty barren of houses and is rural.
Please tell me, if you were going to commit an assault or abduction, which area would you choose? I believe, at this point, that CR was thinking with his little head, but please give me a break!
Also, a link for the warrant and it's application is posted at the start of each thread, you might want to give it a detailed perusal.
Well there's this. I keep thinking how he managed to get Mollie in the car. She and he were the same weight and height and if I remember she had some defense training. Most girls have those mace clips on their person. What's next?
Thank you. Do you know at what point he will have to enter a plea?
So that helps, plus I pulled up a map again to review. So...is her mother's house along that road, coming from town to before that 1900 area? And where is the cornfield from there? Sorry for what may be a repetitive question, but this 385 thing and all the circling/stalking and then abduction area has been confusing. The link to this interview has been posted somewhere here already, iirc somewhere within the prior thread.
“.....The area where Tibbetts went running is a narrow farm road leading out of town, Mortvedt said, and investigators are looking at whether her killer noticed her by chance or had seen her there on previous occasions. “It’s not like a jogging path with benches or picnic tables. It’s a city street that turns into county road, with corn fields on both sides,” he said. “She was just running on the side of the road.”...”
Republicans seize on the death of Mollie Tibbetts to focus on illegal immigration
Thank you. Do you know at what point he will have to enter a plea?
I don’t think he used anything other than his hands and a knife. He had a small weight advantage, and likely a strength one as well.[

I followed the Abigail Hernandez abduction and her abductor used a taser on her.
Anybody think this guy might have one of those.
His FB page picture shows he was interested in guns.
Of course Mollie is truly the fallen one. I was applying WS Tos definition of victim, and I'm sorry that a 3 year old ever made it to the thread!A victim in that his/her father will not be around to support the child. Thank you very much bizzle2!He will do that at arraignment. The court video that many have seen was just his initial appearance. The purposes of his initial appearance were to legally notify him of the charges, potential penalties, his rights, and to decide bail.
Snipped.[

Thank you. I am so used to watching "Law & Order" and seeing an arraignment right away! Most likely not until all the discovery (ie evidence) has been complied and released to the new defence team and they’ve not had opportunity to review it. So we don’t know when a plea will be entered at this point in time or if a plea deal is a possibility.
Rivera hires new attorneys; waives preliminary hearing
“...In other filings filed by Rivera's new attorneys, the preliminary hearing scheduled for Friday, August 31 has been waived and all pending motions filed by Richards have been withdrawn.
No additional court hearings have been set according to Iowa Courts Online...”
I think you are correct in that the 1900 / 385 site is all we have now. That is what the Affidavit stated. And that makes sense. Based upon CR's statement, that is where he abducted her, blacked out. He later realizes she is in the trunk, where she has a head injury. All he apparently said after that is he carried her into the corn field. So, he must have inflicted the fatal injuries at 1900, at least according to his statement. So that is the location used by LE since there is probable cause to believe that is where the crime occurred. Now, is that really where he killed her? I think there is a lot of question about that. But at the time of the signing of the affidavit to get the arrest warrant, LE had sufficient probable cause to believe that is where the murder occurred. I personally don't think its likely that he killed her there, but probably punched her, knocked her out to get her in the trunk, then took her to another location, perhaps the pig farm or corn field. but it is certainly possible that he killed her at 1900.LE swore out an affidavit of application for a Homocide arrest warrant. This is not necessarily my opinion, but a conspiracy theorist might say that a family with political ties and immigrant farm workers might slide a few hundred thousand under the table...
I agree, seatle1. When I saw a photo of the little girl in the courtroom my heart was broken all over again.Of course Mollie is truly the fallen one. I was applying WS Tos definition of victim, and I'm sorry that a 3 year old ever made it to the thread!
