If you look at celebrities when they have been arrested; they look nothing like their public persona;
so CR not a celebrity; but charged with a very grievous crime - murder; contemplating the rest of his life behind bars; clearly looks that way.

Yes it does.
I think that's a good point. No doubt his peers might be a bit protective. I also don't know if we can believe all the stories being described in the media. Some people crave attention, and then there is always inaccurate reporting. Some sources are worse than others, but I have seen much misinformation presented throughout this entire case.

I hope LE has already questioned her extensively to help gather whatever evidence they need for this case. I suspect she would be a treasure trove of information on CR.

The fact she showed up in court right after his arrest speaks volumes. She may even know the routes he liked to drive on in the country roads so if LE is having trouble finding the location of where MT was killed or the actual murder weapon then she may be able to help LE with that possibly.

The fact she shared a kid with him means there was likely continued contact with him even if they were not getting along anymore. A lot of breakups involve periods where the people get back together even if it is for short times before they split again. Sometimes they reconcile differences and begin to stay together again.

It would not surprise me if she was occassionally staying in that house or trailer with him at times.

If she knows of locations where he had taken her in the country then there could be other evidence found in other locations. Thinking along the lines of after the murder he may have dumped other evidence like a knife or other weapon or his clothes he had on and she may have possible ideas where they had been in the past out on those country roads.
Although she may not be willing to reveal so much if she has a sense of loyalty to him, especially if she believes he is innocent.

I don’t notice Brooklyn listed on the official crime stats. Maybe because of its size? As for other websites that produce data, the accuracy is questionable if they don’t reveal their source.

Iowa
I think the source is somewhere in the beginning of the thread. Apparently it's not accurate.

That is how I am looking at it. They will protect each other and as far as getting correct information out of IM I would not count on it. CR is her baby daddy and I shall stop there!

It probably has more to do with the fact that they have a 'child' together. He will always be her father; something she can't change, even if she wanted to.
Just to add, he was probably paying some sort of 'child maintenance' or something; that will obviously stop.

Yes, as I said earlier the mug shot shows his ears to be a bit more Dr Spockish. Not that that's a word but you know what I mean.
Has a thread ever been closed down for Vulcan racist comments? :)

I had that same thought last night about CR possibly helping financially with child care.

If he did it would have to be on his own because he was not in the "system". If she was still living in the trailer than most likely yes.

I linked the crime stats

Anyone is free to look it up all the stats they want to, even from the city of Brooklyn police

Each site explains how they calculate the numbers

I'm sure it has everything to do with the fact that they have a child together.

Could very well be! Hard to tell one day from another lately! I think it was yesterday morning. Near the beginning.

I missed last night's discussion about CR's education and work history, but I thought I'd share some thoughts, belated. MOO

  • In one article I read the father said CR came to the US to work because there were no jobs in their native area. That tells me, possibly, that school was never even in the plans.
  • We don't know the uncle's situation at the time, either. Perhaps he wasn't in the position to take on a student with limited or no income.
  • The father had described CR's first years in Iowa as working a "series" of dairy farm jobs, although a different article said it was one. Either way, the fact that he got the job at Yarrabee's (some say with IM's help) right around the time IM got pregnant, indicates he could have previously been living in a different town, yet a town close enough to have had the social contacts to have met IM, and so moved closer to be with her.

We have heard of CR's Aunt & Uncle, do we know how many other relatives were living at Yarrabee if any?
Also weren't there other relatives living in other towns in Iowa possibly close to Brooklyn?

was is Blairstown?

I don’t think so, another poster knows the city, hopefully he will chime in later!

It’s also been reported that IM helped him to get the job at the farm, maybe when she got pregnant and they needed to earn a stable living?
