Even if CRs I.D was fake, I wonder how fake was the name. Because early news reports claimed a different middle name (which would’ve been his father’s last name I think). As an example in English and “Jose”, the J is pronounced like an H. Notice the similarity in letter sounds between “Bajina” and “Bahena”, and then the different spelling of the first name as well.

About the right age too. Makes me wonder if fake ID's are not only from deceased persons but perhaps those who are incarcerated for a long time. ??

Yes, the name and the SS number matched. So John Budd is a real person, CR was using his identity to procure a job.

Could be, but it doesn't have to match JR's age, it just has to be the right name connected to the right social security number, and the person has to be living.

I would think so and wonder if the person is deceased? It is the SS card that they need because they have been making licenses fake forever. The SS number is in the system and I truly do not know how so many go undetected. There must be other ways too but fake ID's is not something I know much about except that they are out there.

I agree it is unlikely they provide employees any health insurance. CR is young and healthy and if he got hurt he could go to any E.R. If you aren't stable the hospital has to admit you AND eat the cost. Having to treat illegal immigrants is why some hospitals have closed their ER's or have shut down altogether. They simply can't afford it.

It makes perfect sense. The IRS detected millions of tax returns with stolen identities. If the user of the fraudulent ID doesn't file tax returns, and the employer still files a W-2, the real person is likely to get audited.

A certified birth certificate is needed. My state won't provide one to just anybody who asks. They used to, but not any more.

There is actually nothing unusual. I'll explain. A US man called Budd goes to Mexico, marries a senorita, they have a son. They call him John. US man decides Mexico isn't for him. Leaves wife and son in Mexico.

SS death records are public. You can look at the death records for someone on Ancestry. It will show birth date, death date, legal name and yes, SSN.
