Milk is milk, beef is beef, veal is veal. While the general public may rant with pitchforks, the industry that conducts itself in the same manner as Y Farms will not care.

Who buys Y Farm milk? Have they been boycotted yet? Cow meat is used for hamburger and other "stuff" like hot dogs. Veal comes from unwanted calves (many, as cows must have calves to produce milk). Has anyone boycotted Y Farms meat processor? And other Daries and ranchers and farmers who buy their prize bulls and cows and semen will not care. They rely on migrants too!

I don't think there will be pitchforks and boycotts but I think the farm will want a clean slate after all this, especially if they are connected with politics. They will want a family friendly image with sunflowers and laughing cows. Laughing Cow Farms?

Stopping by looking for the Mollie Tibbetts thread to see if there’s anything new to talk about yet... I must have made a wrong turn and ended up here at the Yarrabee Farm thread by mistake?

I knew you couldn't stay away. It's because I started writing fanfic right?

Too soon? ;):p

The story was posted in this thread about twelve hours ago. You can find it by searching the thread for the word 'Malibu.'

I know it's been reported, with a question as to whether YC is MSM or not. It hasn't been removed yet, for whatever that's worth.

Thanks! A MSM news report is always credited to the reporter who wrote it but oddly, one thing I noticed is the writer of the yc.news article isn’t acknowledged whatsoever. That’s kind of odd.

Yes indeed, welcome back and think about getting your pitchfork out!

I don't know what world you live in. Yes, the claim would be paid, the policy canceled (if it could be shown conclusively that the Farm had actual knowledge of the car being used by CR), and good luck buying insurance at anything but a multiple of normal rates. I have already been through this same situation with State Farm.

Al. Had one exactly identical come across my desk when I worked I House Speakers Office.

A commercial policy refused to pay. Had someone who lied about a license. The fisherman (insured) paid it and filed suit in court. Can’t see where it’s settled as if today. It’s been 4 years of litigation.

I think it all Depends on language in the commercial policy, and if course the company and state policy was issued. I tried to help through the state Division if Insurance. Worthless. Fisherman had to file for statute of limitations.

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

Besides, we found out he may have been using the name John Budd. That opens all sorts of doorways for arguments and crazy theories...

The John Budd development is a rather new revelation that nobody is denying.

One thing worth commenting on, about some of the other farm workers leaving the area. They don’t feel safe. I don’t blame them, the level of hostility is through the roof. It’s even affecting the kids at school and I’m afraid it’s going to get worse before it gets better.

That's what I was afraid of. I'd imagine they are getting a lot of eyes on them right now.

I think it is going to get worse. I live in a neighboring state and illegal workers have been a hot button for quite some time because of the increased cost to taxpayers. As the Iowa Governor said today, it isn't about politics, it is about policy. I think it also is about public safety.

What's the John Budd thing? I'm too tired to read back.

No worries, I just found out about it too. It is believed that the fake name/identity on the documents he was using was "John Budd". That is the name the farm knew him by. Not verified by LE.

Doesn’t every employee have to fill out an I9? That is everyone in the US? You, me, everyone is supposed to fill it out.

You mean the 'I-9 form'.'Putting the cart before the horse' doesn't help. I was talking about SS numbers; get that sorted first. The 1-9 form would be your secondary defence against people without the legal right to work in the US. I don't reside in the US; so won't be filling one in anytime soon.

It is the I-9 forms that are being audited by HS/ICE. Everyone working in the U.S. has to fill one out. Not everyone has a SS#.

Does anyone really believe that the farm is going to admit that they allowed a non-licensed driver to have access to drive one of their vehicles on a public street? No way. He was not authorized to be driving that car, and certainly not the night Mollie was abducted and killed.. That is most likely their story, and they most likely will stick to it. Gee, they may even try to press car theft charges against him. JMO

If the car was registered under the farm; I wonder if they administered the use of it; like a log book i.e. who used it, they book it in and out whenever they use it, etc.

Maybe that needs looking at.

Earlier there has been a lot of discussion pertaining to CR “blaming” Mollie because she threatened to call police, according to his story.

Just an observation, now the “blame” has shifted away from CR’s personal accountability to blame Yarrabee Farms by an unverified allegation that they provided him with the vehicle he used in connection to her murder.

Interesting, the theme of blame in this case....
I don't think it's blame; I think people are highlighting; that the employer failed to carryout 'due diligence' amongst other stuff.
