Curious, isn't it. He's now claiming that he entered the country when he was 13 or 14 years old. I doubt that either year is correct.

And the court believes he has no money from working the last 4 years?

He lived for free, paid no child support and only had 270 for a car

Where did all his money go?

He doesn’t claim the last 12 months income

That whole affidavit is incorrect, don’t know how the judge let it pass

I doubt it too.

Have from the start.

If he was getting paid under the name, John Budd, than does that money not legally belong to him, so he can't claim it? I don't know how that works.

$5000 to hire a private investigator, and more costs to follow. I'm curious what plan is, and what information the investigator needs to find.

He probably lived month to month, just like so many other people.

I wonder if he was being paid under the table by the farm? In this case, there would be no record of salary and more trouble for the farm.

Good point! Didn’t think of that!

Didn't his father quote an age in the interview he gave?

He said he left when he was around 16, lol

I guess that’s open for interpretation

16, give or take 3 or 10 years...

But he would still have to itemize on the affidavit what his income was the last 12 months, was this a ploy to snag the farm by paying him under the table?

He had no expenses listed other than 270 for a car

According to his first attorney he worked 12-14 hours a day, even at minimum wage that’s a couple grand a month, less JB’s with holdings

The PI might be looking for the couple guys who fled the scene, creates doubt that he didn’t act alone

Collecting character witnesses

Looking for a possible eyewitness alibi person who can take him away from the scene

Looking into the farm

Who knows.....

My first thoughts on this were that he was younger than he claims and he made himself older in order to work and not have to attend school.

He would of sent money to his folks in Mexico; not sure how much.
He would of given his ex-girlfriend money; up keep of his daughter.
He would have some money stashed away; not much, but some for emergencies.
Food, drink, gasoline etc.
He might even have 'debts'; the cost to get him into the US, ID etc

Yes, I’m sure he did but he didn’t list that either

But if he was using a fake ID, he could have put whatever age he wanted for that. What's strange here is if CR is his real identity, why the different birth years? It could be a clerical mistake - typed a 4 instead of a 7 (close on the keypad) on the affidavit, or a communication error. Or more lying. Who knows!

Right, but he only listed the car

He should have listed the baby but he didn’t, I wonder why?

We know he wouldn’t list any of the nefarious expenses

In order to work full time in Iowa he could not be a minor, that’s why I think he lied about his age.

Rivera also indicates he's not supporting any other family members and has no assets worth more than $100, including cash on hand, bonds, or collateral. It does state that he has a monthly car payment of nearly three hundred dollars.

What happened to his sending money home to Mexico?

But he was working under John Budd, who's birthday is probably something altogether different from CR's.

Right, I see what you’re saying...

But we don’t know if those fake documents were tampered with yet, they sometimes use kids documents because they are not working yet and it wouldn’t raise red flags when someone finds out their identity is being used.

What ever he submitted had to have him old enough to work full time, I’m saying I don’t think he was when he came here and his birth dates have all been tampered with.

He did not list the baby because she is on the system.
