10 min recess to fix sound system- jury can’t hear.

Thought agent said THREE crime scenes- did I hear that correctly? Malibu, cornfield and CB’s house?
I also heard 3 crime scenes, but didn’t catch where.

I kind of wondered if 8:28 was time of death since it was a murder affidavit, but I'm not sure how those affidavits are filed out. I hope we get some answers today.
That could be. Maybe it was actually 8:30 when the phone was travelling down the road.

He didn't say where the three were, just that 622 W. Desmoine (sp?) was not one of them.

Good morning all.

Maybe the first was where he approached her on the road, the second where he attacked her a short distance from the road, and the third the cornfield? Could the trunk of his car be considered a crime scene?

Freese team must have read WS- can’t remember who posted about CB’s gangbanger doo last week, but he has a more respectable crew cut today.

Imo, Malibu & cornfield for sure, but not sure where 3rd would be. I was under the impression LE never precisely pinpointed where initial contact/attack occurred. Iirc… So maybe 3rd location was CB’s home- looking for clothing & weapon, etc.?

I don't think they did specify where the initial attack occurred. He may have chased her several yards from the road into a field and stabbed her there or he may have assaulted her right on the road before putting her into the trunk. Imo

Agent Vileta says in any missing persons' case, they start w/people closest to missing person, try to create victimology or snapshot of the person. Says #MollieTibbetts was no "high-risk" : no drugs, alcohol, abusive relationships.

"Were you going farmhouse to farmhouse trying to get any information?" Scott Brown asks. "Yes."

"Ultimately you were at the location where Mollie was discovered." "That's true. [...] I think relatively close, I think maybe quarter to half mile away."

"The footage on Logan Collins' cameras broke open the case for us," Agent Vileta says. Says it showed the black Malibu and a "brief glimpse of Mollie Tibbetts" running past.

"We had Fitbit data that showed previous routes," Agent Vileta says it showed the route taken July 18th was one of Mollie's previous ones.

Agent Vileta says the investigation hit a snag after Deputy Kivi first made contact w/CBR as they lost some FBI resources to a missing person case in Wisconsin. They didn't have Spanish speakers to be able to make contact w/CBR again.

"If everybody remembers back in 2018 our political environment was pretty hostile with our immigrant population," Agent Vileta says of why they talked to all workers at Yarrabee Farms. Investigators wanted to make workers comfortable but also be able to identify them.

"No, we never found them," Agent Vileta says of Mollie's phone and Fitbit.

Also never able to locate a weapon.
9:38 AM · May 24, 2021·Twitter Web App

"To your knowledge, was a firearm ever associated w/the death of Mollie Tibbetts?" "No." Scott Brown asks if a knife assoc. w/the death was ever found. No. "Did you look?" "All over the place."
9:39 AM · May 24, 2021·Twitter Web App

Looked in CBR's home and cars. Knives from his home were not associated with the death. Also looked near Tibbetts' body.

Cross-exam from Chad Frese now.
9:42 AM · May 24, 2021·Twitter Web App

Frese: Brooklyn was a media frenzy, wasn't it? "People don't believe us when we...we didn't pay a lot of attention. I guess it was."
9:42 AM · May 24, 2021·Twitter Web App

"This was a case w/a lot of attention. The whole town was circling the wagons trying to find Mollie?" "Yes."
9:43 AM · May 24, 2021·Twitter Web App

"Did you ever go back to [Blake Jack's home] to look for weapon?" "We would've had no reason to."
9:43 AM · May 24, 2021·Twitter Web App

Frese asks who made decision to have sheriff publicly clear Dalton Jack on TV. "Media decisions were way out of my decision-making process. We gave a lot more press conferences than we were used to."
9:44 AM · May 24, 2021·Twitter Web App

"Generally, press conferences are distractions for investigators." Says investigative team would have probably given OK.
9:45 AM · May 24, 2021·Twitter Web App

Frese asks about Dalton Jack interviews where he wasn't "forthright" about previous affairs.

9:47 AM · May 24, 2021·Twitter Web App

"If she didn't know you but saw you needed a hand she'd offer a hand," Frese asks. "Truly an innocent victim." She "truly gave everybody a fair shot."

She was so nice I don't think she ever would have said "I'm going to call the police"
And I truly think she never even had a chance to say that.

Rivera has appeared to be completely disinterested throughout the whole trial. His facial expressions barely ever change. It makes me wonder if there is much at all going on in his head.

I disagree. Mollie grew up with two brothers and they will be the first to support that she could hold her own. No comparing her texts to her reaction under threat.
