This was really touching. The FBI agent on the stand said:
"Mollie Tibbetts was extremely low-risk." "A lot of our victims...there's drugs, alcohol, there's abusive relationships." Mollie Tibbets had none of those. She "probably had the nicest text messages we've ever read," Vileta says.

This has to weigh even heavier on them. Of course no person should ever be the victim of any type of crime no matter what they are involved in, but the truly random crimes like this are hardest to understand. It means all of us are at risk for being a victim. That means we can live our lives with integrity and be kind and just a good soul and still be murdered at random by someone just because we chose to go for a run that day. It's terrifying people like that exist.

OMG..sorry just getting on here due to work.
OMG...to me, JMHO...we now know how he got her in the trunk....massive knife slam to her head above cheek by her right ear. They said she was stabbed in the cheek...maybe they mean that one that WENT THROUGH HER SKULL.
O-M-G. I mean he SLAMMED that knife in her head!
He probably ran a up behind and slammed the h*ll out of her.
To me, if I saw correctly the shape of the HOLE IN HER SKULL looks like someone could have done that from behind and a little bit above her...she was 5'2".
He slammed a hole in her skull and put her in that trunk. Then hauled @ss down the road to that cornfield...straight down 385, right on 200th, under the freeway, left on 460th and right up the cornfield driveway.
She still fought him! He chased her in that dang cornfield, in the dark, kept attacking, ripped her clothes off, stabbed her more and rapped her while she died. Literally a living nightmare...horror movie in real life.
What a sick sack of you know what he is.
Obviously we knew he was violent. But to literally slam a hole through someone's skull with a knife...that is another level of violent.
And the rest in that cornfield...that is another level of sick.
Not to mention he keeps his baby daughter's toys in the same trunk...just gross.

Sorry if this has been mentioned already. I'm just floored. And the artery he hit...this was very violent and very bloody.
Just wow.
Poor Molly
OMG!

There is some reason they are still willing to risk all of that. I guess we will see it is. I can't imagine it will be too useful. The prosecution succeeded in essentially getting his confession in. Who cares what this woman says about Mollie's bf. He wasn't the one that admitted grabbing Mollie and dumping her in the cornfield and then leading police to her body. I think the Judge is predisposed to give the defense a LOT of leeway here, just to limit issues to appeal. So I am afraid this questioning could get hard to listen to.

Just because she is subpoenaed doesn't mean they have to call her does it? Maybe that was a tactic to use to rattle Dalton? He would have known she was subpoenaed and I'm sure that increased his disgust for the defense who would be questioning him. I could have served it's purpose just to have her listed as a witness on their list. Do they question her before she gets on the stand? If someone isn't a willing witness and they have to be called to testify by subpoena then how does the defense know what she will testify to before hand? That is risky isn't it?

And for what - an hour alone with a woman that he thought was attractive?

I wonder if the reason he sneaked into the USA was because he did something like this in his home town in Mexico. I'm curious about his back story.
Yeah, I almost believe the suppressed story in the video linked this morning about him injuring his head on a goalpost playing soccer. He certainly does not seem right in the head...

I believe he came at 17 with his parents so I don't know that he had control over coming here. Not to say he didn't do anything previously that caused the parents to move him here, but he was a minor when he arrived here.

They don't HAVE to call her, no. But if they subpoened her, I'm pretty sure they intended to call her. They could change their mind, but they need to notify the court and revoke that subpoena ASAP.

This is the blood in the trunk. The pool of blood would be from the initial head wound. I don't have the link anymore, but it was linked upthread.

Granted I haven't caught up on all the posts yet. Is there a possibility the initial had one could have come from her being hit by the car, and then transfer to the trunk?

Also makes one wonder what he was exposed to growing up in his private family where he lived.

I surely don't have the knowlege to determine this myself, but I really can't imagine anyone living through, let alone running away, after being stabbed through the skull. I admit I could be wrong, though.

No, for the power of taking a female he would not normally get. She was an object he wanted but could not have and he enjoyed the power of getting her anyway. If she said no and that she would call the police, that just made the whole event even more appealing.

So if I understood everything right, the many stabs went through her sports bra. Then after that her sports bra was listed up to her neck.

I also wonder if this was his first time doing something like this. Maybe first time killing, but I'd bet anything it wasn't his first time assaulting a young woman.

This is where he lived until age 17, when he arrived in the USA - sounds rather lawless.

Her skull was not fractured...people do live through that. She probably was knocked out...her usual running route was 6 miles. She was fit and young.
Kelsey Berreth managed to be alive long enough to still be conscious enough to crawl on the floor and beg for her attacker to please stop while her large attacker beat her head in with a baseball bat. She did not die right away and was very aware, bless her.
CBR is not a big guy...jmho...but to me he would have to slam her in the head from behind by surprise to get her...plus chose Mollie in the first place since she is 5'2".

Sounds like it...not sure how many.

OMG!

I think we are all shocked. I took a screen shot of the exhibit during testimony today. Right side of the skull injury so forceful it went through the skull bone.

He arrived alone, illegally, and stayed with his uncle. The uncle testified that he offered to enrol the suspect in school, since he was only 17 years old, but the suspect didn't want to go to school. Instead, he obtained false documents and started working as a labourer.

How much pressure to break a skull?

You will need about 1,100 pounds of pressure force to be able to fracture the skull of a human being especially at its weakest points, which are usually located around the temples. Because your skull is quite resistant to external forces, it is more likely that a person would instead be affected by strong forces emanating from intracranial pressure forces.

To answer "No", reveals what a monster he is.
After such actions, you would think he was remorseful, (or pretended) now that he is being questioned.

He was also seemingly unphased by any of the testimony and none of the pictures or any of it. That spoke to me as well and I feel would also to some of those on the jury. Unless he was having some emotional reactions we didn't see.

The medical examiner said that it depended also on the knife - giving me the impression that a particularly sharp knife would go through the skull more easily.

Thank you for clarifying. I must have assumed he was with his parents since he was a minor. I still don't get it. He must have had a good work ethic to work such long days on end. He had a car his cousin testified he paid money to her on time. I guess we never really do know or understand the why often because we just wouldn't do or think the things he must have done and thought to get to this place of doing this.
