I will discount such, as if a cup is on one side, (and normally such is placed on such side). I'm left handed, but would not pick up a cup on the right side cross body. MOO. Also, we have discussed in many many cases here, that if someone writes with their (e.g.) left hand.. they do everything else with their right.

e.g. I am "left writing, left eating with a fork" EVERYTHING else is right handed. Shooting, archery, bowling, batting, skiing, etc.
I do everything right handed. The only thing I can do is deal cards left handed, can't do with my right.

Why the heck are we looking at a family wedding pic from 2016? Prosecution got it thrown out on relevance… Sheesh.

I forgot about this account by one of Mollie's friends.

Friend of murdered Mollie Tibbetts reveals chilling texts with Cristhian Rivera, Mollie's killer | Daily Mail Online

Aug 28, 2018

A school friend of murdered Iowa student Mollie Tibbetts shared with DailyMail.com a text message exchange with the murder suspect that took place two weeks after the young girl's disappearance.

[..]

Haileigh frequently returned to Brooklyn to visit family and would often see Mollie while she was out with friends.

She is also familiar with the 24-year-old Mexican immigrant who was arrested for Mollie's murder yesterday after police uncovered surveillance footage of his car following the 20-year-old while she was out jogging on July 18.

The 18-year-old asked, 'So you think she’s [with] someone she knows', before Rivera wrote, [I don't know] her parents say they think she is so probably.'

On August 10, while she was visiting friends in Iowa and while the hunt for Mollie intensified, Haileigh ran into Cristhian while she was out with a group.

She once again asked if he had known what had happened to Mollie and he became uncomfortable, she claimed on Wednesday during an interview with DailyMail.com.

Everything was normal except for when we brought Mollie up. He didn’t seem to want to talk about her, just changed the subject.

'I was panicked and was asking everyone if they knew anything. So I brought it up again and asked what he thought happened.

''All he said was “Probably what her parents think, she took off with someone and doesn’t know what to do.”

Defense wanted to show a photo of CBR w/some family from 2016, but State objects because of the date and relevance. Judge Yates does not allow it to be published.

CBR is looking around less, looking down more. His head is normally on a swivel, like he's at a tennis match, but now he's looking down.

Defense makes opening statements in Cristhian Bahena Rivera trial (kcci.com)
[...]

Freese stated that the trial is about Tibbetts and Bahena Rivera and that the jury should consider justice for both parties.

“…Your heart should break for Mollie Tibbetts,” she said. “Your heart should break for her family. Mollie Tibbetts deserves justice. Her family deserves justice, but so does Cristhian Bahena Rivera.”

Freese said the defense will call on witnesses in addition to relying on the “failure of the state to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt.”

She stated that the jury will learn more about the circumstances surrounding Bahena Rivera’s immigration from Mexico and his work ethic.

Freese also claimed in her opening statement that the idea of “blacking out” during Tibbetts’ death may have been put in Bahena Rivera’s head.

[...]
In the Watt's case, investigators put the idea in his head that Shannan may have hurt the girls, but that doesn't mean he wasn't lying when he claimed she smothered them.

Rivera had probably already admitted to chasing Mollie down on the road when the idea of blacking out came up. He led LE to the body so I'm not sure why it would matter, either way. Imo

Here we go -- more about the funny, family jokester, CBR, yet I've not seen any reaction from the accused seated at the defense table -- not even to acknowledge his family testifying on his behalf.

Jennifer Frese: How did you find out CBR was involved in police investigation? "I found out once he'd been stopped, asked questions. Routine questions. The second time was when my sister-in-law called and let us know he was at Montezuma Police Dept."

"Beyond a reasonable doubt". The new "standard"..."we don't have it on video with 25 eyewitnesses".

Prosecution:
“So Mollie Tibbetts blood was inside the trunk.”

Defense expert microbio witness:
“Apparently so.”

No further questions…

Mic drop...

How convient to try and say he may have been on a date that night

Am I hearing this right? There MAY have been extraneous, unmatched DNA in the trunk of the car? The state failed to match it to every possible person....

Seriously.

Sheesh a couple denigrated alleles could be from others who used the fishing poles ten years ago or someone who loaded groceries into that trunk four years ago or.....

When there is no defense....

JMO
And there were previous owner(s) of the car.
