So let's say DJ sneaks home from his out of town job, stalks his girlfriend and kills her, puts her in the Malibu...
How or Why is the Malibu seen driving in circles around Mollie that night? Who was driving it?
And if DJ killed her and put her in the trunk, how did he get CBR to confess to the crime?

I dont see them having a chance to sell this story.
How about DJ hired CBR to murder her and threatened to turn in he and his family to immigration if CBR ever told anyone.

It's stupid, I know, but instead of insisting on how dumb the defense is, I just try to imagine what arguments they might try to come up with against the prosecution's overwhelming evidence.

Why can't the defense guy repeat the question? Is that a power or control thing? He asked for it to be repeated and then the defense had the court reporter repeat it? I've never seen that before. Usually they can just repeat the question.

Dalton says she never mentioned someone stopping her while jogging to talk.

"She wouldn't strike up the conversation but yeah, she'd stop and have a conversation."

Frese asks if Mollie would immediately get frightened or upset. State objects for speculation.

"In the ten years you knew her, tell me how many times you saw her get provoked?" "I can't speak on those seven years but three years we were together, not very often." Says maybe zero.

Lots of objections here. Brown says the questions have asked and answered, Judge disagrees.

"Would you get angry more than Mollie?" "Yeah. [...] She would try to calm me down, that's for sure."

I hate the way the defense is trying to set up Dalton. Like a shark in the water...

This defense attorney so far seems like he is trying to prove that Mollie did not react negatively/threatening her killer like he claims.

  • #768
Here it comes, how many times did YOU provoke Molly??

What does the cost of his engagement ring for her have to do with anything?

I think he's so nervous he couldn't remember what he said.

Moving to the cheating......

Maybe he was ascertaining if it was real or if it came out of a pinata.

Frese asks the last time Dalton talked to a girl he'd had an affair w/. "She messaged me about coming here to testify. She asked me why she was having to come here, that's about it."
1:28 PM · May 25, 2021·Twitter Web App

Dalton recounts his calls to friends/family/Mollie after he heard she didn't come to work. "Is it possible you called Mollie only one time?" "It's possible, yes."
1:29 PM · May 25, 2021·Twitter Web App

Frese: "Explain to me why you'd call your girlfriend who's missing only one time in the days following her disappearance?" Dalton says he was trying to get others to call, doesn't know why.

He is doing a good job of staying calm today. I hate that he has to be scrutinized like this when there is zero evidence that he had anything to do with this.

I think it is a mistake to go after Dalton so hard. There is no evidence that he had means or opportunity. I think it will make them look less credible, badgering him about how many times he called her.

  • #777
Too bad they can’t refresh CBR’s memory

  • #778
What does the cost of his engagement ring for her have to do with anything?

I think he was trying to get him to say I don't remember so he could insinuate that no ring was bought and he didn't want to marry her. That they had a rocky relationship and that somehow gave him reason to harm her. He responded quickly so I think that was true. He knew where be bought it and how much it was.

Ditto. I think he seems uncomfortable, perhaps knowing that what he is doing do defend evil is itself evil. (This is just my reaction to Freese's nervous, breathy behaviour and odd questions--and trying to smear the boyfriend's character.)

So when did he move on from Molly? Why would he blow up her phone?
