Mystery -- just as he had no knowledge of how they arrived at his trailer.

Or how the mystery men they walked away (vanished) from the crime scene.

Kinda disappointed in the cross so far. Really missing the big things. I realize his story is so ridiculous it probably doesn’t matter but come on...nail the son of a gun!

I bet he was just trying to get a few things laid out before lunch. No doubt he is going over his stradegy really well now and will come back after lunch with a clear plan. I mean how could he have preplanned to ask about that story that was given. I'm not sure even the best of the best could have came up with someone great on the fly with that fairy tail he gave.

Prosecutor's cross is a bit clumsy but he is getting the points made. He was clearly ready to cross him, but I don't think he was ready for this ridiculous story and is having to make adjustments on the fly. Needs to ask for a lunch break and use that time to organize.
Making the points, but to my ears, they are getting lost in to unorganized questioning. I think you are right though. They were not prepared for this story.

CBR answers “the truth , no”

well, he seems to have a problem telling the truth
I have found over the years that in an interview or questioning when a person answers "to tell you the truth......" it is rarely the truth.

Court TV said jurors are taking lots of note during CBR on the stand

During the exchange below I sooooo wanted to hear the prosecutor ask, "Did they ask politely? Did they say 'please?'":mad:

Shannon Moudy on Twitter
Says the man came back, got in the car, and asked him to keep driving. He was told to stop after "not more than 300 meters."

"Stop and hand them my keys."

CBR says he heard the men open the trunk. "I just heard a movement in the car and then that the trunk closed."

Says he was then asked to turn around and keep driving toward the gravel road.

I can see the grasping at straws to get himself out of his crime & LWOP. But why implicate DJ & Ulises Felix? Is this an act of revenge against the Tibbetts family because they are close to these 2? And CB blames them for his predicament? Why DJ & UF?
I think Seattle had a good point above. He knows he is going to prison for this. but maybe this story helps him (even if just in his mind) save his image in the eyes of his parents and daughter. He can go to prison thinking "in their eyes I did this to protect them." I don't know. This is just a bizarre story.

Hopefully the jury will be angry about that. I can't imagine them believing any of this story.

That could be a good sign. Jurors writing down all the things in his story that don't make sense. His story carefully weaves in and around to match the known facts, but is just so outlandish its crazy.

Tuesday we witnessed CBR show some emotion for the first time when his daughter was talked about in court.

Today he testified he drove the ninja's around and protected them with his silence -- all to protect his daughter and her mother.

I think CBR really believes that his child will believe this fantasy and he'll forever be her hero. What a sick puppy.:mad:
I don't believe it was genuine emotion/love for his daughter. He knows he is going to spend the rest of his life in prison and this preposterous story is a last ditch effort, he's using his own daughter for sympathy.

CBR seems devoid of any real emotion to me.

Good chance this was revenge against Iris (his baby's mother) -- I believe Felix is her cousin!

Perhaps CBR viewed Felix as encouraging and supportive of his former girlfriend ending her relationship with him. Don't think CBR would take kindly to this interference.

IMO, I think many believed that CBR was way out of his league when he managed to capture the attention of the Brooklyn HS Cheerleader.

ETA:

Monarrez graduated in 2016, a year ahead of Mollie, and was on the school’s cheerleader squad. Mollie, meanwhile, ran track and competed on the school debate team.

Now it's time for scotch.

I’ll 2nd that. Glad I’m not the only one….coffee isn’t strong enough for this evil garbage.

Something that made me upset with Frese was inserting both Dalton and Felix into the scenario then immediately adding that he isn’t saying it was them. Just planting seeds of doubt for the lies.

I wish they would ask him more specific questions to get him to mess up. What did they say to him when he got out of the shower? Did they tell him to get dressed? Did they seem nervous? Were they forceful? Why did they "ask" him instead of order him to do things? (They sound like very polite Ninjas.) Did he hear anyone cry out? How much time passed between the time they got out of the car and he heard the thumping sound? Which direction did they go when they left him there?

IMO I think the defense team put DJ & UF in the story. I guess he came up with this story because I would hope defense would not do this but surely he was fed some information that helped him concoct this tale!

Perhaps not genuine but IMO, CBR's daughter is important for his male, Latino, image. Reportedly, his family is paying for his defense. As a fraud (i.e., narc), his family's opinion would still be important to him. No doubt he also needs them to have reasonable doubt here given he's going to be locked up in Iowa for the remainder of his life. He's a young man and they are all he has in his foreign home.

“Honor” that’s valued in their culture by whoever wants to believe his story?

I think CBR is doing a calculated hail Mary...
throw it all out there ...same story only he is victim in Mollie's place and hope something sticks to a juror..and throw anyone under the bus to get there as needed, especially anyone who would be against him/knows he did it.

Let's just hope it doesn't stick.
Does anyone know the ratio needed for conviction?
