Brooklyn residents try to find closure as trial for Mollie Tibbetts’ death nears its end | who13.com
The trial for the death of Mollie Tibbetts is in the final stages, but the pain is still present in the town where it all happened.

[...]

AT, a Brooklyn resident and a friend of the Tibbetts family, said the trial has been hard on everyone in town.

“It’s just tough knowing what she went through,” AT said. “Before the jury’s deliberation, I texted her mom, ‘Hugs, thoughts, and prayers.’ She texted back and said thank you.”

[...]

The jury ended Thursday still deciding whether or not Cristhian Bahena Rivera is responsible for Tibbetts’ death. AT said their ultimate decision will not erase the grief the town still feels after the incident.

This and the Casey Anthony verdict is making me crazy.
I have faith in these Iowan jurors.
Oh don't get me started on Casey Anothony. I have only one questions for these jurors and you marked a box which was a total lie:mad:

Hoping today is the day! Guilty before lunch

Chanley Painter (Court TV) looks amazing in that chartreuse top she's wearing. I could never pull that off.

Today's the day!

I wonder if the defense attorneys knew in advance what their client was going to say on the stand? It seemed like they led him so I presume they did. I attended the Sydney Loofe trial and the day Aubrey Trail took the stand against his attorneys advice and totally changed the story was quite interesting. His counsel was shocked. Good thing was- it sealed the deal for him- hope it does the same in this one

I am sure it has hurt him.

They practically told the story for him and just asked him to confirm. They definitely knew. But, I also think they definitely know it's a steaming crock of poo since they barely mentioned it in closing arguments.

It was the Pizza Bomber Case from 2003:

"Brian Douglas Wells (November 15, 1956 – August 28, 2003) was an American pizza delivery man who was murdered during a complex plot involving a bank robbery, scavenger hunt, and homemade explosive device near his hometown of Erie, Pennsylvania. Following an attempt to rob a PNC Bank, and while surrounded by police, Wells was murdered when an explosive collar locked to his neck detonated. It is known as the "collar bomb" or "pizza bomber" case. The incident was shown live on television."

I’m still afraid that this case is going to go politically motivated with some very corrupt people higher up pulling the strings. Why else would the defense lawyers agree to such a ridiculous “Ninja Story”? Their reputation is toast unless winning is certain. (I really hope that I am wrong.)

the Brian Wells case was absolutely one of the wildest cases ever. But I think the police did eventually figure it all out. We wont ever find the sweater ninjas though (because they don't actually exist).
If you kill her, they will come? It is a corn field after all.

This gives me hope that there isn’t a corrupt and underhanded plot associated with the “Ninja Story.”

That would require every person on the jury to be corrupt, though, if I'm following what you're saying.

If he needs an interpeture on the stand, how did he understand what the masked men were saying in the car?

Jury deliberated 3 hrs 8 minutes yesterday. Should have started back up 8:30am CT this morning. Nervous for this verdict; hope it’s coming soon & GUILTY in the 1st!

Maybe it was 3 hours and 9 minutes yesterday. They did say just over three hours.

I wonder if they are having trouble deciding between 1st and 2nd degree murder.

If Casey Anthony had been tied in rural Iowa she'd still be in prison. Those small town folks usually have common sense.
