Here's what evidence prosecutors have provided to the Idaho murder suspect's defense

MOSCOW, Idaho — New court filings in the case of Bryan Kohberger, the man accused of murdering four University of Idaho students last year, give some insight as to how much evidence police have collected for the prosecution.

Kohberger, 28, is charged with the murders of four University of Idaho students in an off-campus home, 1122 King Road, in Moscow on Nov. 13, 2022. Police say they matched Kohberger's DNA found at the scene that was discovered on a knife sheath next to the bodies of Madison Mogen and Kaylee Goncalves. Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin were also stabbed to death in the same home, sometime in the early morning hours of that Sunday. Two roommates who were home at the time of the killings survived, unharmed.

The man accused of killing four University of Idaho students could go on trial as soon as October, after a judge entered not guilty pleas on his behalf. The family of one of the victims was in court and told @LiliaLuciano how they felt about seeing him in person.

Kohberger Idaho Murders | Profiling Evil

A lawyer for Mr Kohberger’s parents, Michael and Maryann Kohberger, tried unsuccessfully to have the subpoenas cancelled, the source told CNN.

Mr Kohberger’s sister feared that her brother was involved in the stabbings of four University of Idaho students before police swooped on their parents’ home in December and arrested him for murder, according to a new report.

Sources told NBC’s Dateline that one of the accused killer’s older siblings grew increasingly suspicious of her brother and his behaviour when the family gathered to spend the holidays together.

Her suspicions were so great that – at one point – several family members searched Mr Kohberger’s white Hyundai Elantra for possible evidence of the crime, they said.

Kohberger's parents called to testify in front of grand jury

Brian Entin

Updated: MAY 24, 2023

(NewsNation) — Bryan Kohberger’s parents have been called to testify before a grand jury in Pennsylvania, NewsNation has learned.

The case is related to Dana Smithers, a 45-year-old woman who went missing in May of 2022 in Monroe County. That’s the same Pennsylvania county where Kohberger lived.

A source close to the case says Kohberger has a solid alibi and is likely not connected to Smither’s disappearance — but the grand jury has not concluded their proceedings and the investigation is ongoing.

Maddie May Mogen would have turned 22 today.

Her family is hosting a Random Acts of Kindness Day in her honor. They are working to bring a little more love into this world, just as Maddie did in her life.

Anyone can participate by conducting a random act of kindness for others. Pay for a stranger's coffee, mow a neighbor's lawn, bring flowers to a friend or bake cookies for your coworkers.

Attorney Shanon Gray also filed tort claim notices with @uidaho on behalf of the Goncalves and Mogen families. I just received copies of those notices.

As @daniallsop noticed: these documents also put Idaho State Police on notice that the families could sue… The university, ISP & City of Moscow have 90 days to respond. The families have 2 years to sue.
