I think at least one of 1st floor roommates knocked on locked bedroom door of E X and then went around back of house through kitchen sliding door 2nd level patio and peeked through window and saw either E or X or both unconscious...maybe not seeing the blood. If killer locked the bedroom door, there should be killer fingerprint if no gloves on.
I think this killer was smart enough to wear gloves to prevent leaving fingerprints.
Gloves would also aid against the killer getting cuts on their hand.

Sorry not getting the lack of news conference part.
Apologies, I was being snarky about the press conference today. I can’t imagine being a student or parent there and hearing that nothing has changed.

I’m sorry, this case is frustrating with all the contradictions being thrown out there the past week by various authorities. I feel sick just thinking about what happened to those 4 beautiful young people, it’s kinda overwhelming.

I was just thinking... How terrifying would it be to discover that you spent the night in a house while four of your close friends were brutally murdered? And you slept right through it. How creepy, and how heartbreaking. And survivor's guilt is a very real thing, I can testify to that. Then add to that, suspicion and all kinds of outright slander gets hurled at you. I just really feel bad for those two young ladies. I can't even imagine.

I think the most interesting part of the press conference is that LE suggested that the location of victims is significant. Likely the configuration is ‘holdback info’ to rule out false confessions.

I speculate that this is because of Kaylee.

I think her room had been on the 3rd floor, but it’s possible she had moved her bed out. So, where was Kaylee?

Maybe in her regular room on the 3rd floor. Maybe tucked in with her lifelong friend Maddie.

But I speculate she was on the 2nd floor in the 6th bedroom.

We know the house had 5 roommates but 6 bedrooms. Plausibly, the roomies had a couch or futon for lounging or guests in that last room.

We know she brought her dog… perhaps the dog was barking and she was not responding and that led the roommates to call friends and later 911. My own guess is that the roomies did not find the bloody scene, but rather got concerned when someone behind a closed/locked door was unresponsive.

All here have to agree with you, Layer.
The thought that you may know the perp(s) has tom be terrifying. trust is out the window. Or, if the perp(s) unknown to you, they may think of you as a possible witness and track you down.
I can see these 2 young ladies leaving the school and enrolling elsewhere.

On top of all of that, no one can tell them that they were not targeted as well. Hopefully, the two survivors are under med/psych care. This will probably be something they never fully come to terms with.

IMO.

Given the color / placement, and the way it seems to originate from the crack between cement / paneling, I don’t think it’s paint.

It saddens me to even think of it, but LE has described the scene as “the worst they’ve ever seen”. It’s very possible it was blood.
It’s crazy to think it’s blood coming out of the house, but it really really really looks like blood to me.
