I hope they do crisis debriefing work with first responders

not being gross but we need to be frank there is a difference in seeing someone shot compared to being stabbed close to death

it has a much more violent component

What the mayor said about the city - I have a friend in Boise who works with the refugee community and from what she's told me there is a lot of support for them. Outreach, resettlement, assistance with housing and employment, etc. I think a large percentage of the population there is familiar with what it means to be marginalized.

There are some in the state and the area that insist we must be frightened of immigrants--even refugees--from these countries (Ethiopia, Syria, Iraq.) Refugees are demonized by some here (Idaho) and of course nationally. The fact that a person born in the US attacked these little refugee children will not change the viewpoints of these idealogues. Boise in general welcomes refugees. But there are many who do not.

I think he was on drugs but drugs weren't a factor like we see in some cases. He was going to do something like this anyway. JMO

My guess is he's a 'user' of something off the street. And since he
had an old arrest for substance ______, Chief didn't say exactly
what other than he was involved with drugs somehow.
Interesting that cops think he came back to apt. complex to
accost/stab woman that let him couch-surf for a couple days.
But she wasn't home so he went after the birthday kids.
