Identified! ID - Coeur d'Alene, Skeletal remains in rock quarry, Sep'17 - David Mcghee

This case is now in NamUs! https://www.identifyus.org/en/cases/17358

I don't recall seeing the "orange Nike Heat Gear compression shorts" in previous press releases. Could this indicate some possible medical conditions?

Also DVS shoes appear to be a skating brand and the only place in Idaho selling them is way down in Boise. https://www.dvsshoes.com/shop/pc/epStoreLookup.asp Surprisingly there are no stores in Spokane or Washington at all listed as carrying them. I'm unsure if there were before but this seems interesting.

There isn't a great resemblance to the sketch but these new details make me wonder if this guy could be David "Moss" Alford. https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/27882/10/

David Emmett Alford had "skating in a no skateboarding zone" infractions in 1999, 2001, 2002. https://mycourts.idaho.gov/odysseyportal/Home/WorkspaceMode?p=0

Nike Heatgear? Heatgear is an Under Armor line. And to further complicate matters, the picture shows very clearly that it says RUSSELL (Russell Athletic) on the waistband. They look like they have a mesh liner and possibly pockets, and they see to have a sort of tigerish strip design, though that might be just the way they faded.

No, not likely a medical condition--those are the kind of shorts you wear for working out. Somebody out on a skateboard, a run, or doing a little rock climbing (common activity in unused quarries) would wear clothing like that. They're also popular for casual wear.

I spent some time down the rabbit hole but didn't find anything that's a real close match. The closest were some vintage NFL football gear from around 1990.

Addendum: the newspaper article cited in the post that started this thread correctly identifies them as Russell shorts.

Seems to me that he could have been found then, but not related to this case.

Yes, I agree. If they thought he was the UID then I think the UID profile would be restricted as well. I've seen this before where a suggestion leads the case worker to do a recheck and find out the missing person was located but the NaMus profile never got taken down.

I've submitted Jody via Doe Network. It's a long shot, but there's just enough resemblance that I can see the possibility.

Update: A comparison between Jody Perri and this UID is still awaiting DNA analysis at this time. No new ruleouts other than Bret Snow at this time.

Per an email from the Doe Network, this UID has been identified as someone who was not reported missing. The Namus case is still open at this time but I'm guessing it will soon become unavailable.

The human remains found in September 2017 have been positively identified as David Patrick Mcghee of Spokane, reports the Coeur d’Alene Police Department.

“Detectives are still investigating the circumstances surrounding Mcghee’s death and would like to talk with anyone who may have had contact with Mcghee in 2015,” said Coeur d’Alene Detective Jared Reneau.
