I do not believe for a second this is a legit letter. One, it is not signed. two, surely a PI can spell and knows the difference between "your" and "you're". I call fake on this one.

I'm sure the news station verified it before they printed it and since Vilt is going to do an interview with them tomorrow morning, I'd say it's legit!

I can see why you would say that but given it has been posted by MSM then I doubt it is fake. Also this particular website have interviewed this PI before.

As for spelling/grammar/word use etc, I can't talk...it is terrible!

I have seen LE announce their suspicious early in other cases to stop the public from donating, as Bowerman said is the case here, but in that case why would he wait until the fundraising was finished before coming clean.

It did cross my mind that he was worried about a lynch mob going after IR due to the comments Klein had made, but in that case he could have just said something to clear IR rather than pointing the finger at the parents.

Tbh, I think he was probably worried Klein's announcements and "findings" would either mess up the investigation or make LE look bad for not coming up with anything in so long.

Although, LE did also mention suddenly getting previously withheld information... Maybe that info was a break in the case.

I've also got to believe that small town USA mentality as a lot to do with the why's and how's in this case. In a smallish town like Idaho Falls, everyone knows everyone else's business and once things like this start snowballing, I believe a person's life could be made a living hell by intimidation, etc. if that person decided to speak out against the parents, in this case. Just my opinion...

Just thinking. I wonder how someone got hold of the Vilt letter? Could whoever it was be the witness who "gathered" previously withheld info (mainly the letter?). Just a thought. Probably wrong.

Maybe the person that typed it.

Why isn't the letter signed? Anyone can copy letterhead and type a letter.

  • #366
It probably is not the actual letter mailed to the family but a "reprint" of the letter he sent. I would imagine someone from his office/family/friends or he himself provided that copy of the letter.

I certainly wouldn't want my signature on a letter plastered all over the internet. Anyone would be able to make fake letters from my office that looked official.

JMO but I get the impression that the families could be quite scary when sticking up for one of their own...

Plus let's be brutal... We may be talking about two people who murdered a baby in cold blood then covered it up. If someone is prepared to kill a helpless child, they might be willing to be violent towards or murder an adult.

IMO, it's no mistake that this letter is being released now and that Vilt is doing an interview to go along with it. Things are happening fast and furious in this case. For so long we heard nothing and now it's almost as if with each passing hour more clues are starting to come out.

Exactly, and I'm so pleased things are finally moving.

I think many of us have put ourselves on time out from this case in the hope there'd be news when we popped back in. There never was. This would be a very bad week to be taking a case break!

We've had the statement from Klein that he doesn't believe the parents
We've had the police name them as suspects
We've had the phone rant from DeOrr Sr Sr.
We've had the interview with IR
We've had the interview from DK's solicitor
We've had the damning letter from Vilt
We've got Vilt on a TV interview tomorrow morning
We've got the Sheriff on Tricia's show tomorrow night

Have I missed anything? It seems all three agencies have basically labelled the parents liars who are likely to be covering something up.

What's next?!

My sentiments, exactly. Personally, I've been careful to not comment or even "like" from my Facebook account any of the news stories related to this because I have gone and looked through the family's Facebook pages and the stuff they post kind of freaks me out. The last thing I need is any one of them harassing ME. Nope.

You'll see when he is interviewed. I was skeptical too when I first saw it on Facebook, but now I feel certainly it's real. I think Vilt would have put out a statement denying it if it wasn't his letter.

17 threads??? ok what'd I miss. just kidding.

vilt entered the case in august

http://q13fox.com/2015/08/11/privat...amily-of-missing-idaho-toddler-deorr-kunz-jr/

and I believe exited before year-end

whether or not the letter is real or fake, IMO it's interesting because all previous articles stated that he left the case because of a disagreement over posting a reward (which was $10,000, not $20,000 as stated in the letter). IMO that's not why he left the case. JMO.

**** just got real. Very real.

Think of all the fund raising the parents have done post Vilt's resignation. Thousands and thousands of dollars donated from the public. Damn.

IMO the fact they didn't want a reward, or any publicity, were huge red flags to Vilt. He came into it thinking it was an abduction, and the parents weren't acting like people who had had a kid abducted, and weren't willing to do anything to try and find their son. Moo.

The FBI coming out with a statement? Does it do that?

Maybe an arrest is next.

Maybe by this time next week, little DeOrr will be a bit closer to resting in peace and justice.

The fact that it was complete strangers who organised the billboards was a big red flag to me, too... The parents didn't want any publicity IMO. They just wanted the whole thing to go away. And that's why I don't think they planned it for the money.

Yes. I'm hoping a lightbulb goes off for one of the parents that it is in her/his best interest to be the first to come forward.

And from the get go DeOrr Sr. was always saying it was an abduction, but then he'd was all like, "I'm staying here on this mountain until he's found!" Ummm...whut? If he was abducted, wouldn't DeOrr, Jr. likely NOT be on the mountain?
