I am pretty sure that the sheriff said someplace that IR does not drive. (sorry do not have the link handy). GGP very well could be driving even though he really shouldn't. Unfortunately it happens a lot. When people age to the point they shouldn't be driving any more, there are no systems in place to test their driving skills. Have you ever tried to drive in Florida? So I don't find it odd at all that GGP is still driving around, even if he shouldn't be.

Probably because he's going on what he was told by the parents...for whatever that's worth....Nobody but them REALLY KNOW!

This is how I understand it. They went with Reinwand to see the fish. While there, they saw some minnows. Vernal thought little DeOrr would love seeing the minnows, so they went back to get him. IMO

It was in the radio interview with Bessie and Tricia the other night when the Sheriff said GGP drove the truck and camping rig with IR riding along with him. Made me go, "Yikes!" as up to then I'd pictured GGP in my mind as somewhat feeble and fragile.

Minnows or not, I think it boils down to whether you believe DK's version of events or not.
I, for one, no longer give him any credibility.

One was the timeline, and there was some overemphasis of Jessica, uh…stating that she knew the boy was in the campground because she kept looking back – “I kept looking back…I kept looking back…” and it seemed like this was like an overkill. Why would she keep saying this over and over and over again? She wanted to establish that the boy was in the campground. This was after they came back from town and um they saw some fish that Isaac and Bob, the grandfather, caught and so Deorr says, “Well show me where those fish are. Where’d you catch those fish?” And so they went off with Jessica, Deorr and Isaac went off to the creek where they caught fish supposedly, and Jessica kept saying, “I kept looking back to make sure Little Man was there. I kept looking back…kept looking back...”

From what SB has said so far I believe Walton has been working along with them, and I haven't seen an "uncooperative" comment from him. If nothing else Walton agreed to take a polygraph which is cooperating with LE.

I've long thought that wandering off and getting lost was the simplest explanation. I still hope that is true because I don't like thinking that his parents did something deliberately or covered up an accident. I always try to give parents the benefit of the doubt. But I also can't ignore the concerns expressed by the FBI and other things I've observed that seem strange. That doesn't mean I'm convinced the parents did something, but just that I'm not locked into my hope that they didn't. This case does not make a lot of sense to me.

You asked why they didn't take DeOrr to go see the minnows in the first place instead of going to the creek and then coming back to show DeOrr the minnows. They weren't going to see minnows. They were going to see the fish. While they were there, the dad saw some minnows he thought DeOrr would love to see so he headed back to get him. Thank you for the transcript

I know some people have said it sounds unrealistic for the parents to search for an hour before calling 911... I've never lost a child but just a couple of weeks ago I let my dogs in the garden, then followed them out a couple of minutes later - and saw that part of the the fence had blown down and they were gone. I felt absolutely frantic and ran up and down for literally a couple of minutes looking for them before I had my phone out to call my family to come and help look for them... I was calling my family on my cell as I was still running around looking, and that's what the parents could have done rather than hauling off down the road looking for signal.

Granted this was a different situation because dogs can move very quickly unlike a toddler, and I was concerned about the dogs getting into a nearby sheep field and killing sheep or being shot by a farmer, or being hit by a car... But my heart is racing now just from remembering how frantic I felt after just a couple of minutes. If it were a toddler that was missing, around water and with wild animals around... I can't even imagine how I would feel. There's no way it would take me an hour to make that call. Every minute would have felt like an hour. And when I called 911 I definitely would have sounded hysterical rather than calm. Yes everybody reacts differently and all that jazz, but an hour... When there was all that water around, and everyone knows it takes no time at all for a toddler to drown...

ETA my dogs came back after a few minutes by themselves, and I have now put a sign on my door to remind myself to always check the fence *before* I let the dogs out, just in case.

17 (ish) minutes was how long they claimed to be exploring at the creek. (Time left with GGP till time they returned to campsite). Sounds like he's talking about a whole different time scope.

Thank you, this has been bothering me since Klein's 4 hour statement. It's not apples to apples.

17 minutes = Parents leave Deorr with GGP while they're off exploring. OR no eyes are on Deorr at all. ???

3 - 4 hours (SB / Klein) = From time they left to go to Leadore, or returned from Leadore (???) and called 911 or first responders arrived, IIRC.

But didn't we already know it was 3 - 4 hours ? Why did Klein even say "17 minutes" in the same sentence, just to confuse us I guess.

I so agree. Seeing that the FBI has concluded that the parents have been repeatedly untruthful about not knowing what happened to their son and where he is, I don't think it's a leap to assume that the details they have given about how they discovered he was gone are also less than truthful. IMO, I think the minnows prompting DK to go retrieve his son is a crock.
