Okay, I've been here from the beginning and had gotten sidetracked by some other cases. I have finally caught up now.

My theory is pure speculation and not based on facts or anything in the media. I think DeOrr was passed off to someone who was to meet the parents at Leadore; not at the campsite, but at Leadore. Reason? Hoax to get or raise money, to sell DeOrr, or to keep him out of sight while he recovered from abuse or injuries that could not be explained.

In the above post I asked when that pic was taken. Does anyone know where it was taken or how long before he disappeared? The parents have been named as suspects so I feel I can say again that I do not like how JM is cutting her eyes sideways looking at DeOrr with absolutely no emotion showing on her face. IMO, it isn't like a mother looks at her child unless she is disgusted with him/her. I did say IMO.

That is my honest theory until or unless different facts come to light.

GB this precious little guy and those who love him that had nothing to do with his disappearance.

Not likely, but it could happen. My friend was handed over to her adoptive dad at a small town bar not unlike the Silver Dollar. Her single, biological father was a biker just passing through town. He stopped at a bar for a beer, with his newborn daughter strapped onto him in a sling. The mother had left them both. He struck up a conversation with one of the locals, a rancher whose wife could not have children, but really wanted them... Biker dad thought his baby daughter would be better off with this couple, and handed her right over. The adoption was made legal eventually. My friend knew her biological dad well, as he visited her often whenever he was riding in that part of the country. He told her that he felt handing her to her adoptive parents was the right thing to do, as he could not take care of her on his own.

I don't think this is what happened to DeOrr, but just wanted to throw that in there. It does happen...

SB: All right. Unfortunately, the child is a small, young child who looks like every other 2 ½ year old boy with blonde hair, so if you know of a family that you think you see a child that looks similar, um, and they didn’t have a child before, then call my office, but if you see a child you think resembles him, call the local law enforcement. Get them involved. They can contact me. They can get uh information from my office as far as uh height, weight, hair color

Thank you. That was the interview I must have remembered because I recall this part below where he was discussing looking out for someone who may have a new young person in their family. Thanks.

There is so much information out there it is easy for us all to get confused. I will leave it deleted in my post since it wasn't too important to the point of the original post I was replying to.
Thanks everyone.

" a valid sighting on some family that has never had a 2 ½ year old and then all of a sudden they have a 2 ½ year old in their …included in their family. "

don't disagree with you, apparition...and very much share your frustration.

Aside, I can't find on the media thread a written transcript of IR's interview...can anyone help on this? I know it was posted on one of the gazillion threads as well. thanks!

There isn't a written transcript, but to follow up what wondering25 said, here is an article about the video quoting JM wondering who would harm them:

"Who would harm us this way?” Mitchell said. “Especially knowing how much he means to us. He’s everything to us.”

I've listened to the video recently, and I don't remember her saying this in the video, because I was listening for it. It seemed like such an odd thing to say. But I could have missed hearing it I guess. Maybe it was said off camera.

ETA: Oops! I thought you were looking for a transcript of the first interview with VDK and JM, since that was on my mind. I see now that it was the IR interview you were looking for, and it's been provided.

So is there a transcript of that first interview somewhere other than the Media thread?

Yeah, I suppose I just hope the solution to this case ends up with a live baby Deorr and I cling onto hope that maybe something like this happened.

Its probably why it is difficult for LE because there is always a possibility like something like this and it maybe why LE has to keep looking for more evidence.

I think that is why in some cases we see alternate charges. LE can sometimes prove abduction but not necessarily prove murder in some cases.

For this case, I am not sure they can prove much of anything yet as far as we know. Lets hope they have some evidence we are not aware of.

If the parent(s) had willingly passed DeOrr off to someone, I think they would've said so by now. Klein seems fairly certain that DeOrr is no longer alive.

How does one absolutely know someone DeOrr's age is no longer alive... as opposed to just disappeared into the landscape and now in existence elsewhere? Would cadaver dogs alerting be sufficient evidence of a death, as opposed to ... living with someone else?

I've been praying that this is the case but, if it were, why would they report him missing and have it all play out in the public eye and have to lie? Wouldn't it be better to just keep quiet about it? I want to believe that there was an arranged abduction situation and DeOrr is still alive with someone, but i just dont see why they'd have reported him missing in that case, right?

Its a great question and I tried to gather clues by watching them in the very first interview. IMO the mother showed signs of being sad but the father was almost upbeat and excited so trying to watch their reactions doesn't help a whole lot.

I think LE would have to find some real physical evidence like blood or tools used with his DNA on them or something along those lines.
I do hope LE has something significant and is just not telling anyone yet.

Klein does seem to be confident he is not with us anymore so maybe some of the questions on the lie detector test indicated something to him. Wonder if he had access to any of the lie detector test results.

Or maybe just in the personal interviews he had with them. He may have deduced that by watching their reactions in his discussions with them.

Hah! I'd love to hear VDK rhapsodize about that. Maybe he could tell us all about their tasers or how the cuffs are made of the highest tech alloys known to man.

Or why not just go through formal adoption procedures to let someone adopt him.

That's what makes me think the other way too.

they could have handed the baby off to someone and then concocted the missing in the woods story because, hey, they have to explain to friend and foe alike where their kid is! Do I think this happened.. ???? Probably not but it would clarify why, when asked on the poly if they knew where Deorr was, they were less than truthful.

Oh, or maybe only one parent knows about it? But i guess they both failed the poly questions about knowing where he is so nvm.

Wahh, i just want to believe that the little guy is still alive.

I went ahead and removed that part from my post as I could not find where the Sheriff said that and the more I thought about it I may have remembered that from one of the interviews or the PIs so I just removed it since it wasn't that important to the point of the post.

Thanks for helping clarify because I definitely dont want to state anything that is not correct. This case is confusing enough as it is. Thank you.

Someone else found it! I am sorry for making you doubt yourself. Like I said, I honestly could not remember and figured I'd misremembered. As it turned out, I did misremember.
