This statement of Sheriff B keeps coming back to me, which IMO possibly suggests that they probably considered it a crime scene that first day, they were searching places he could have been hidden away "that night". What did they already find that led them to believe that little Deorr wasn't lost in the woods? Anything? Or were they just following standard procedure?

Also, I know SB said they didn't really get anything substantial from the dogs, but I still question if cadaver dogs didn't hit on something around the campsite, perhaps on one of the vehicles, and he's just not saying.

LEMHI SHERIFF OPENS UP ABOUT DEORR KUNZ CASE

I would say standard procedure, working from the inside, out.

Not sure if it was pure rumor but I recall people mentioning the axe was taken as evidence. Wheres a shovel might not penetrate tough soil an axe might...especially considering the small size of the body its possible he was buried.
Good thinking. An axe could definitely break rocks too, making it much easier to dig in difficult terrain.

"Vilt tells EastIdahoNews.com that during his investigation he learned the FBI collected several items from everyone at the campsite, including an ax and pair of coveralls from Walton."

Speaking of evidence, why did JM have baby's blanket during that first interview? I would have thought that would have been taken from them immediately.

The parents are suspects. That's all good and every thing. But what bothers me is that the other two are still very much poi. So that leads me to beleive that they don't know what happen or who did what because why not then clear the other two?
And the fact that the other two are still poi makes me beleive that they don't in fact have physical evidence linking the parents 100% to DeOrr's disappearance.

Do we know GGP actually made the 911 call? From what I recall, Klein only said the call came from his phone.

Good point. Now it's driving me crazy trying to find where Klein mentioned the call that came from GGP's phone. Does anybody remember where it was?

In the Jan 11 Q&A on the Klein investigation page, he says that there were three calls, but I don't see where he said the one call came from GGP.

Klein Investigations and Consulting There were three 911 calls which are public - 14:22, 14:26 and 14:28 hours on the 10th. January 11 at 5:25pm

ETA: Found this in the Bella's Friends Q&A session. http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sh...-**NO-DISCUSSION-quot&p=12341730#post12341730

BOS: Who made the 3rd phone call to 911. Was there a disposable phone in the hands of anyone while camping?
Klein Investigations and Consulting There were three calls made to 911. First, Vernal. Second, Jessica. Third, the grandfather.

However, wasn't there another comment that said GGP's was the first call that came in?

I suppose they may or may not have thought of it, depending on how much of a panic they might have been in.

  • #1,029
You'd think so, in retrospect -- but depending on how much of a panic they might have been in, they may or may not have thought of Facebook pics right away.

Could this be added to the "DeOrr was on the camping trip" argument? The lack of any reliable testimony of anyone actually seeing the child still troubles me, but if he was deceased before the trip and the trip was a ruse, wouldn't the parents have thought to make their FB accounts private before leaving Idaho Falls? (or at least any photos they didn't want seen)

I don't think Klein knows the COD specifically. I think he meant he know the parents contributed to his death.

I dunno. He said he thinks he knows "how," but not "why." I think it's very possible that he is speaking beyond "who" was involved and literally did mean what he said, as in "how" it happened. We can only guess that he either meant what he said or that he really meant something else. But all things equal, I'm inclined to go with what him meaning what he said. (And that language came directly from him; it didn't go through the reporter interpretation of what another reporter said machine! :)

Here's the other one I have. It still doesn't make me feel certain that GGP actually made the call himself.

Is it not possible KIC being PI's they are allowed to request the 911 calls? May be that is how they know GGP made a call because they listened to it. Or LE shared the information?

LEMHI SHERIFF OPENS UP ABOUT DEORR KUNZ CASE

http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sh...Media-Timelines-and-Maps-**NO-DISCUSSION-quot

TY for reminding me of this part of the interview with SB.
The camper has bugged me since the first time I began following Deorr's case. We've had a couple campers and there were definitely little out of sight areas a small child could be hidden away. If they thought Deorr wandered off that night, it is very possible that the camper wasn't thoroughly looked at. One of my first questions was if there is a picture of the camper or one like it that we could look at but no one ever answered. I found one MSM picture of it but I've not read any discussions about it. Was it ever discussed in previous threads?

I was thinking...If the camper is designed for very cold weather there may be even more area for a small, covert compartment underneath the camper. And if parts of the inside had been remodeled or modified, areas could have been created that might not be obvious. Do we know when GGpa and IR left the campground?

I'm not saying either of them was in on it, but rather that it would definitely have given the parents a quick place to hide Deorr and also a way to remove him from the campground without getting caught. If the camper was removed before cadaver dogs were brought in there wouldn't have been anything there for them to sniff out.

I get the impression from Klein's comments and "no comment" responses that they have listened to all three of the 911 calls. No idea how he got access to them.

This is a good article to read: http://www.idahostatejournal.com/me...cle_156ed875-b71c-57e6-b472-eea0258a890e.html

Out of the four suspects interviewed, Bowerman said Reinwand’s story has been the most consistent. However, all four are still considered persons of interest in the case, the sheriff said.

"They were at the scene, so we won’t rule them out,” Bowerman said. “But in terms of persons of interest, I think mom and dad are higher on the list.”

Great post and you ask some great questions. I don't think we know anything about GGP's camper or when it left the campground. I don't remember seeing the camper in any of the media photos that were taken those first few days of the search.

Thanks. But I've all ready read that a few times. IR stopped talking with LE before the patents. So idk of course his story is most consistent if that's the case.

The first time I ever heard about it was from Klein's statement.

Sorry, I should have been clearer with my question. Yes, Klein is the first one that mentioned GGP's 911 call. However, he seemed to indicate that it was the third call that came in. Somebody later said that GGP's was the first call at 14:22. I am asking where the information came from that GGP's call came in first, at 14:22.
