Maybe this statement will be what FINALLY lights a fire under the family to find out the truth and bring DeOrr home????

Does hindering an investigation make you a suspect in a potential murder? Or does it just make them suspected in the cover-up and/or disposal? I think there are potentially many crimes committed that day and some may be involved with only one or two while another is involved in many or all.

No, they don't need a cause of death for a murder conviction. For example, toddler Aveion Lewis' mother and stepfather were found guilty of 2nd degree murder even though no cause of death could be determined from his remains.

The mother and stepfather both blamed each other for the child's death. They were sentenced to 40 and 50 years in prison. Which one killed him? How did he die? No one knows to this day.

Thank you. COD and a body are not needed for a second degree murder conviction. This is a great example.

Hold on folks !! Klein's statement does not necessarily constitute 'official' announcement re suspect status, so we need input from Admin as to whether we are going to consider Klein's release as 'official'.

Will get back to you asap, but hold off in the meantime.

Just a random thought (2am here and need to be up at 8)

Anyone remember the documentary makers interviews from October? I wonder, seeing as these interviews aren't going to see the light of day in it now, whether the footage has been handed to or requested by, LE?

Even if these interviews have no legal value to the case, I'd be very interested in seeing them.

Good question about LE being handed the footage and I would also be very interested in seeing them.

The news reporter says, "the mother and the grandfather know exactly what happened." Is she misspeaking or confusing her information? She says it twice - mother and grandfather.

I know!!! What's up with that? (She seemed a bit discombobulated to me)....She also JUST mentioned Homicide, but in Klein's report it says Accident/Homicide...(Is he not sure yet?)

It's all over mainstream media at this point... (although it's unclear whether GGPA is a suspect and/or POI with direct knowledge - can PIO's with direct knowledge also be sleuthed?)

She got everything wrong. It is per Klein a death by accident/Homicide. All three are POI/suspects and have direct knowledge.

Why didn't she just read the bullet points from the release!?

And that is precisely why I'm asking Admin to weigh in on this. Just because someone other than LE says a person is a suspect does not necessarily make them so in the eyes of the law.

I wonder if the reason that JM contacted her mom that morning was to start the cover up. I've always thought that it was a lame excuse an adult woman contacting her mother to let her know they had to get feminine products.

I believe the prosecution could seek "obstruction of justice" or impedes the due administration of justice. On just the lying alone!

Got it - makes sense. Hopefully LE will clarify.

It's confusing because they also had the part about the parents failing every test they've been given. That's not in Klein's statement either.

I bet they've spoken to Klein on the phone for follow-up. It will become clearer with the 10:00pm news report. Is that about 2.5 hours from now?
