ID - DeOrr Kunz Jr., 2, Timber Creek Campground, 10 July 2015 #32

I'm truly not convinced that this little guy was at the campground that day. Not at all. I've always had it in the back of my mind that he was killed/lost elsewhere and they concocted the camping story as a coverup. But that would also mean the family friend was in on it. So, I just don't know. All I DO know is that someone out there knows the truth and they need to speak up.

Nah, I don't think they're that smart. Conniving, yes, but smart, no.

All of the pfoposed solutions to the case still seem unbelievable to me. Poor baby.
And those private investigators don't have credibility either, imo.
Every kid has a few camo sweats & fleeces.

I believe he will be found on the mountain eventually. Sometimes it just takes time to find remains and that area is vast.

July 10, 2024, marks 9 years since 2-year-old Deorr Kunz Jr. disappeared from Timber Creek campground in Lemhi County. According to the controversial volunteer group "Justice for Baby Deorr," the day marks "another year without answers."

Little DeOrr where are you? I rewatched the People Magazine Investigates episode on DeOrr last night. I can’t believe that this case is still unsolved. Certain people are still out there living their best lives and DeOrr is forgotten. Just proves you can get away with a crime. Will there ever be justice for this child?

One of the parents knows what happened, for sure. I wouldn’t be surprised if they both conspired to conceal DeOrr’s death, whether it was accidental or intentional. This is one of those cases that exhausts you to the core because you just want one of them to relent and share what really happened that day to DeOrr. At the very least, he deserves his parents’ honesty.

I agree. It was no mountain lion either imo. It's been so many years, but what struck me the most with this case is what his mother said about the investigation iirc, something to the effect

"every day they don't find something is a good day for me" or something similar, I couldn't remember or find the exact quote. It was a very strange thing to say about an investigation into her missing son and sounded like a slip of the truth to me.

eta, there is someone on WS that has the exact quote in their signature but I forget who :/

Given the exhaustive search-- I honestly believe if DeOrr Jr. had wandered off-- they would've found him.
What stood out to me very early in the investigation (I've followed this case online and in podcasts as well !); was the parents calling him, 'little man' or, 'the little guy' -- not really saying his name.
Seemed too distant ?
Don't know if we will ever have answers.
So sad for this toddler who seems forgotten except for those of us here and elsewhere, who thought something felt 'off'. :(
Imo.

That quote is from Billie Dunn regarding her daughter Hailey.

I also believe that one or both of the parents are responsible. I believe it was an accident and they hid it from everyone. The reason for that? I don’t know. I’m just surprised that they haven’t turned on each other by now.

There's no guarantee that they would have found him if he wandered off. That area is VAST.

There are so many examples of adult remains being found in the same place that has been searched many times over also.

He didn’t vanish into the ether. Maybe something happened to him out there that his parents had nothing to do with. Maybe they covered it up out of anxiety and fear. That seems on the low end of probability to me. There are adults who know what happened in days before and during DeOrr’s disappearance and I don’t think we will know what happened to him until these people speak openly.

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) - The leaders of a controversial facebook group called "Justice for Deorr" has settled a libel lawsuit with the father of the missing boy.

*****
Browning says, Vernal agreed to drop the lawsuit against the pair after they agreed to stop spreading misinformation.

Details in linked article.

You can sue anyone you want, Vernal, you're still going to end up in prison for disappearing your little boy!

When DeOrr disappeared, we were travelling through the area with our own blond haired blue eyed son of a very similar age. We stopped to get something to eat and I felt so uncomfortable with all of the eyes on us, but it clearly meant people were aware and keeping a look out.

I don't have a strong inclination one way or the other, but I slightly lean in the direction of a cover up due to an accident. Why an accident would be covered up I am not sure.

You cover up an accident when you were doing something illegal when the "accident" happened!

another alternative i thought of that would make someone cover up an accident is that deorr was injured but lived a few days with the injury before passing. he may have suffered a blow to the stomach or head, and jessica was worried about taking him to the hospital because she had previously lost her 2 children in a custody case with an ex and they might accuse her of causing the injury. i know that's very specific but with willful ignorance, knowing it will look bad when the police see it may cause someone to make up a story and hide the body somewhere else.
