Why would Earle leave his truck and phone behind? Was he depressed/upset about something? Hopefully he is safe.

I asked my husband - who has a bike in storage - what he thought about someone taking a bike out and leaving his truck and phone behind. In his opinion only - that Earle did not plan to stay out long, and might have been just keeping the battery "up" (charged) and making sure the bike will run. For example, gas in the tank can go bad (if it's not stabilized) and can foul the spark plugs, carburetor etc. Starting it up and taking a short hop will keep it in good running condition.

The other thing he mentioned was asking if the bike was listed for sale, because Earle could have been taking it to someone local to look at (with something happening there - robbery, etc.).

My thoughts are that he has either had mechanical problems and something happened while trying to repair, or if that picture is of him leaving the storage unit without a helmet, he might have had an accident and is out there waiting for help - maybe not too far away. Sure wish he would have just pocketed his phone before heading out.

There actually is an ad on FB marketplace for the same bike but in Boise, and a different name as the listed seller.

UPDATE:
Additional Information has been released:
Deputies responded to a suspicious incident. It was reported a vehicle was parked at a storage unit for about three days with the door open to the vehicle and the storage unit. Deputies checked the storage unit and vehicle and did not see anyone. An attempt at the ROs residence was unsuccessful. Video surveillance showed the male leaving the storage unit on a motorcycle. In contacting family, it was reported the male has a history of self-harm. Back County Deputies did some patrols on the single-track trails in the national forest. A press release was sent out reference to the missing person.
