James Spencer Vasseur, 19, has been missing since Thursday night. The Rexburg Police Department is asking for the community’s help in finding the student, who is originally from Texas.

Vasseur stopped at a family member’s apartment around midnight Thursday and refilled a water bottle. Vasseur said he had friends waiting for him outside as he left with his brown satchel and a rope inside. His phone was last pinged Friday morning but has gone off the grid since.

Vasseur does not own a car. He is described as 5′ 10″ and weighs approximately 135 lbs. Vasseur has brown eyes, short brown hair and was last seen wearing a black and grey hoodie, dark jeans and possibly brown shoes.

According to his sister, 19 year-old James Vasseur has been depressed and suicidal, and hasn't been seen since Thursday night.

He never arrived in Utah, doesn't have a car and his cell phone has been turned off.

His sister says Vasseur bought rope for what he said was a Halloween costume Wednesday, and she believes he brought it with him.
