Well her father who seemed to really care about her, was dead.

Well, obviously. I’m talking about in the 18 months or so since he was murdered. Tylee disappeared from her life before she ever moved to Idaho. She drifted apart from her two best friends and neither seemed to care even though their parents are like I love her like our own! What! You love her but not enough to check up on her for a year and a half!!?? Tylee was forgotten.

YUP. LE agencies have really dropped the ball so far. It's pathetic.
That's what it looks like to me as well. Sounds like Charles' relatives were bugging police telling them they don't believe that Charles was killed in self-defense, but it gotten them nowhere.

We really don't know why friends weren't able to check on Tylee. Perhaps they tried but there was no answer? It all sounds pretty strange to me also. Sounds like Tylee wasn't using social media, wasn't contacting her friends, things normal teenage girls do, etc. What was going on with her?

I’m not sure... maybe she became depressed after the uncle murdered her dad? I do know that if my kid says one of her friends hasn’t been at school for a few days or she hasn’t heard from them via text, I reach out to their parents. 1) I read too much Websleuths and am a worst case scenario kind of person so not reaching out = me worrying over nothing! And 2) if it is important enough to my kid that she brings it up to me, she is obviously worried. If one totally just withdrew like Tylee seems to, I would be all over that, especially given the trauma of losing her dad the way she did.

A specialised psychiatrist who has expertise in autism yes most general doctors have little understanding of autism. Even regular psychiatrists where I live don’t and admit rhis themselves. And some would say many are waaaay to happy to drug. My opinion. I’m not sure how much this is becoming a tangent now. I shared my opinions which I thought could add value seeing that I have such profile and didn’t see why the overwhelming concern around this so thought my experience valuable especially when it could mean JJ may be doing better than the people saying this are thinking. And yes I agree it’s specifically this that it seemed was happening in other direction assuming this boy absolutely needs meds for this specifically. When who actually knows this.
Just my opinion, but he was apparently under the care of a physician in order to get federally regulated drugs. I don't think anyone can properly judge whether or not he needs medication without being a physician and seeing his confidential records.

I wonder if she was attending church in Rexberg, or working?

Sounds like Lori just let her sleep and watch tv all day? She hadn't been in school for years.

We know they weren't truthful about where Joshua was... But where did Lori and Chad indicate Tylee was staying?

"When investigators spoke with Vallow and Chad Daybell, they indicated Joshua was staying with a family friend in Arizona, but authorities later learned that Joshua was not staying with that friend, police said."

I don't think that LE knew about Tylee being missing on the first visit and therefore probably didn't ask where she was. They were there to check the welfare of JJ at the request of his relatives who hadn't seen him since August. Tylee's not biologically related to JJ (since he was adopted) so his relatives probably didn't have a reason to contact Tylee regularly like they would him. From what I recall, LE found out that Tylee was missing sometime after the visit to check on JJ. The next day they returned with a search warrant and found Lori and Chad had fled. MOO.

Yes. To me I think that’s the saddest thing about this case. I hope that young lady is out there someplace safe starting to live her own life her way, surrounded by people who care.

I can't read as fast as posts are being made, so please pardon me if this has been addressed in the last @6 pages or so.

I know they cannot be sleuthed, but I am very curious about Lori's parents, who I believe have been referenced early in thread #1 as still alive. Is it known if they have made any public/MSM statement about their daughter who is on the run, or their two missing grandchildren?

These people have now lost 2 of their (I believe) 3 children as relatively young adults, one only earlier this month, while the third is at the center of this massive search/investigation involving multiple LE agencies. In addition their granddaughter Melani's whereabouts and activities are being questioned, as she recently divorced and remarried without seeking any custody of her four children (their great-grandchildren).

Another early poster said she suspected they would support Lori no matter what, but even if that is the case I wonder what degree of cognitive dissonance they might be feeling as events have unfolded and been revealed over the last week or so. It appears their family has pretty much imploded in a matter of weeks, and if appearances are reality that is very sad for them.

Apologies if any of the above violates the TOS. I'm really just wondering if the Cox parents have made any statement regarding the case.

Perhaps the lack of enthusiasm on the LEA part is due to the fact that in both AZ and ID Lori / and then Chad didnt have deep roots and there is literally almost no one who knows them well, and no family living locally. No one from the community is making the phones ring. That said, I think that Larry and Kay bugged AZ police some over Charles but again they weren't locals. JMHO
Lori has family in AZ.

We do not know who his doctor was or what their specialty was.

I hope and wish so much this is the case, but I am so sad and sorry to say that this is what makes me think she is not alive. 1. Lori was already getting her out of society, 2. She is way too much of a liability now, and old enough to say something or do something to blow all of Lori's plans.

I don’t feel that Tylee’s friends have fault. Teenagers are full of hormones and lots of change and pressures that are huge maybe bigger in this generation for many then in past. Teenagers can’t be expected to get too wrapped up in this I don’t think anyway teenagers are naturally selfish and not in a bad way. If they didn’t know of any concerns they could easily have been distracted With teenagehood or even felt hurt not hearing from Tylee? Sad if they feel any blame

Are they actually alive? I don't recall any posts claiming to know that they are alive.

I agree. I hope she will be ok.

Actually I don’t know! I keep getting everyone mixed up. I think I was thinking of Charles’ parents. I feel bad for everyone that isn’t Lori or Chad. Or Julie. She’s still in the shady column MOO

This seems to be the sad refrain being sung on this case:

"Are they actually alive?"

That struck me. I had a profound moment there. :(
