I read up thread that Chad has been communicating with his children and will continue to do so, unless they speak to LE.

What worries me is that there is a small chance that perhaps they are being told that the kids are safe, but if they talk to LE, they will harm them, putting it on their shoulders (guilt can really mess with one's mind, especially where they are all grieving and vulnerable right now). I am just wondering if this is a possibility, and maybe they are trying to talk their father into bringing them somewhere safe, behind the scenes. I can't imagine with all of this going on, all that has come out in recent weeks, all the deaths and re-marriages, etc, that not one of Tammy's children hasn't had a light bulb moment go off in their heads. Who knows, perhaps the siblings are torn amongst themselves, too- one or two may believe their father is involved in something evil, while the other siblings don't believe it. Maybe they're scared for their own lives and other loved ones.

There are so many possibilities that could be going on here. Perhaps they are waiting for their mother's autopsy results to come in, before judging their father. I mean, how many of us would want to believe that their father would do such a thing? I do know, though, that I would be livid if one of my parents remarried that fast, after burying my other parent two weeks before. I'll be honest, I probably wouldn't talk to that parent! That's just me, though. But yes, I'd be angry!

Why would they not still be members? The people in PAP and AVOW are still members aren't they? I guess I don't understand the church status of Lori and Chad and the kids. If LDS members disobey the law they are not out of the church necessarily, are they?
Yes, they are most definitely out of the church lol!! What kids? Chad and Tammy's kids? They aren't involved as far as we know in any way. Some people in PAP and AVOW are members, some aren't. Chad doesn't care what the LDS church leadership thinks, he thinks he is the prophet and the Church leadership should be listening to him. If Chad, Lori, and any of their followers are involved in kidnaping and murder, some Church guy telling them to stop and be good now would mean nothing. Might as well ask the Pope to tell the Mafia to be good boys now.

You are misunderstanding what BB is saying. He isn't claiming the ex-wife was personally in a car.

You might be right that it would do no good. I'm inclined to doubt it would with Chad or Lori, but think it might with others involved (not just Chad and Tammy's kids, but possibly others). Curiously, if you google something like "Pope talking to mafia" you'll find more than one or two instances of this happening. Whether it did any good, I don't know. I'd guess not, if forced to guess. :) MOO

EDA: What do you mean "definitely out of the church?" Are you saying that when the church gives its latest membership counts that neither Chad or Lori are going to be counted? I think the church considers them in.

@Gardener1850 better get paid for it lol.

Lol, I wish! It happens all the time. That's one of many reasons I stay away from facebook. I've seen people copy and paste my personal opinion comments from here as well and post them on facebook as if they wrote it themselves (or as if they are me). I should add a disclaimer to my posts that says I'm not posting about this case or any other WS case on any social media. I only post about missing persons and true crime on WS.

As an LDS person, I do not need the LDS church to tell me not to engage in illegal activity, I and the people that I know can most certainly figure that out for ourselves. Chad and Lori are in a fringe group, if they're getting help it's from those people. Everyone I know has been able to figure out for themselves that some very weird stuff is going on without the Church needing to make a formal statement. MOO
Fair point. Just curious—do you think members would be OK w/the church getting the word out about two missing LDS children and asking anyone w/info to contact police?

My point here is just 1. Tammy's kids, we know nothing. If they are helping the FBI or not, we don't know. 2. Chad, Lori, the followers being the people that pay to get behind the second paywall in AVOW, some guy in SLC telling them to be good now isn't going to mean anything, you're in Chad's camp of authority at that point.

I'm going to go ahead and delete because I can't verify what I saw.

The shooting occurred immediately after he dropped their older children off at school... and handed the younger children off to her!
Not quite. The shooting occured after he returned from the gym (at 9:15am).

No one is certain about their membership because it's not a matter of public record. However, JR, one of the authors that Chad published has been excommunicated for apostasy. It's also apostasy to consider that you should be the prophet or leader of the church instead of the leadership that is there. So IF that occurred, then it's possible they are not members, but it's not an absolute fact even though the Daily Mail stated it, they did so without any explanation.

Some of AVOW and some of PAP are no longer members, and some are still members. This isn't really about the LDS church and faith so much as those who believe in a very extremist view of things.

I can't find where he said that in any part of that looong article. I've heard another family member, I think on the GH interview say it was the jeep registered to Charles Vallow, JJ's father.

It was also in another MSM article out of AZ that the car was registered to Charles Vallow.

BB didn't say his ex-wife was in the car.
Did you look at the link? 3rd bullet down.

Have you got a link that says they are out of LDS church? Apart from Daily Mail. By kids I meant Tylee and JJ, the innocent ones in this. Also, there is no evidence they have broken the law yet or there would be warrants out so comparing them to the Mafia is a bit OTT. Also, where has it been stated in MSM or by LE that Chad thinks he's a prophet?

I second this. We aren't Amish :) We do watch the news, and it's been ALL OVER the place in Utah, Arizona, Idaho, Colorado, New Mexico, and Hawaii from those I have contact with in those states. It's hit national news as well. I talked to a lot of family and friends over the holidays and everyone knows about this story and the chatter is that everyone wants the kids found and verified as safe and in good health. Everyone I talked to was concerned about the two kids. The LDS church is a worldwide church, but I seriously doubt that they left the country let alone the western half of the US. There has been posts about this situation in almost every LDS group I'm a part of in many social media locations. I promise you that there is little more the church could do that the news media isn't already doing a great job of.

I think it means that the shooter may not be his ex-wife, but is at minimum believed to be someone connected to her...

But there's another OMG detail there!

The shooting occurred immediately after he dropped their older children off at school... and handed the younger children off to her!

(I'm very curious about the rest of the filing...wow.)

Not quite immediately. He handed the younger children to her, then went to the gym for a bit... then went home.

What about a high up bishop making a statement asking them to bring the kids to LE then? Is that out of the question?
