Steve says Lori refused to tell them where Charles’s body was or if a funeral was planned. Steve and his brother eventually figured out the mortuary where their dad was taken and they walked inside to speak with the funeral director.

“He was very shaky and nervous. We asked him for information and he said something like, ‘I can’t tell you that. It was requested that I tell you nothing,'” Steve says.

A memorial service was arranged, and Lori never showed up. Neither did Joshua “JJ” Vallow, Charles and Lori’s 7-year-old son who has been missing since September. Kay and Larry Woodcock, JJ’s grandparents, begged Lori to allow the boy to attend, but she ignored their requests. The last time Steve saw JJ was last April.

“I loved to hang out and play with him and watch movies and run around. He would call me all the time – something like 15 to 20 times a day – and then it dropped to two to three times a day, and then it just stopped,” Steve says. “I figured maybe he’s going to school or something like that. I never thought anything bad was going to happen to him or Tylee.”

Steve was never close with Lori, even though he spent summers and weekends with her and his dad. He was 10 years old when Lori and Charles got married and describes his relationship with his stepmom as “acquaintances.” Her extended family members were always around, which makes Steve wonder why he hasn’t heard from any of them since Tylee and JJ vanished.

“Nobody has attempted to reach out. It’s weird. Her family was always over, and not a single one of them has said a word except Colby (Lori’s oldest son),” Steve says.

According to [Melani Boudreaux] Pawlowski's lawyers, she has spoken to the FBI three times, but has no information at all on JJ and Tylee.

"I don't know that Melani has an opinion about any of that, other than it's what some people are saying that's what she said," said Garrett Smith with the Law Office of Robert P. Jarvis. "Here's one of the problems that we have with questions like that. You are taking material that is taken from a divorce pleading filed by an ex who has, as we've seen in this case, motivation to lie, to withhold evidence, to behave in a very bad way. You're taking that and saying Lori says she's a God, and it must be a fact. It's something that was written in a divorce statement by an ex who has nothing nice to say good to say. Why should we take that as fact, or as reliable? Melani is very fond of her aunt. Her fondness has little to do with her religious beliefs, but more about the kind of person she thinks she is."

Another hearing is set for March 26.

I just got off the phone with a woman named Sharon. She stopped by the Shared Blessings Thrift Shop on Kauai around 2:10 p.m. today and Chad Daybell was there. She casually spoke with him in the parking lot for 2-3 minutes. Chad told her he was dropping off donations because he's moving back to Idaho "soon" to support Lori. Sharon said, "Couldn't Lori get out of jail if she just said where the kids are?" He responded, "It isn't that easy." Chad told Sharon he wasn't in court yesterday because of the media "circus" and said the story isn't being reported properly. He specifically said that East Idaho News was wrong. Sharon asked if he was still LDS and he said that he was. The conversation was polite and he got into his car. Sharon did not have her phone on her but did snap a photo of Chad's Jeep once she got to her car. I've confirmed with journalists on the island that this is indeed the vehicle Chad has been driving. Chad - if you see this and we are indeed getting our stories wrong, please call me. Email me. Message me. I will talk to you and listen to you. Help me clear up any rumors. On Tuesday, Daybell parked in the grassy parking lot of the Kauai jail and spent several minutes in his car on the phone before heading toward the front door.

Wearing a blue polo style short-sleeved shirt, blue jeans and black tennis shoes, Daybell was greeted by what looked like a jail administrator who led him inside.

At 3:15pm Daybell exited the jail and got into his gray Jeep Commander and drove about 5 miles to a Walmart in Lihue.

He parked his car and got on the phone for 15 minutes, at times appearing to be in an intense conversation.

He spent 20 minutes in Walmart carrying a piece of white paper and then headed toward his car carrying the same piece of white paper.

REXBURG, Idaho — The world watched as Lori Vallow, the mother of two missing Rexburg kids, JJ and Tylee, waived her right to an extradition hearing on Wednesday. Her actions have now left many with questions about how and when she'll return back to Idaho.

“Generally speaking, how they work is we send a couple of deputies to the location and transport them back to Idaho,” said Sgt. Isaac Payne, public information officer for the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.

In a phone interview with KTVB, Payne said the department is still planning the details surrounding Vallow's extradition from Hawaii to Idaho, but she could be on a plane soon.

"A very likely scenario is probably sometime next week,” Payne said.

Vallow's extended family shared what they've been going through since Tylee and JJ's disappearance, as well as the web of death that's surrounded Lori, Chad, and their previous spouses.

"You never expect anything like this to happen. And you're in a position where I had to hear everything through the news. And I can't reach out and talk to my family. It's just really, really hard," said Colby Ryan, Lori's oldest son.

He tried to get in touch with Tylee through text. She texted him back in late September, but Ryan said it didn't sound like her

Bankruptcy papers obtained by DailyMailTV reveal the couple were in a dire financial situation, with over $100,000 in debt related to to their book publishing company, Spring Creek Book Company.

The couple had assets totaling $149,657.21 but debts in the amount of $353,853.21

Assets included a home in Springville worth $135,900, less than $100 in their bank accounts, various household items and their book company worth an estimated $0

Daybell listed this asset - 'Copyrights to twenty (20) books written by debtor/website. (annual income of about $2,000, however this decreases every year)'

They owned a 1997 Mazda Protege (worth $2k) and 2005 Chrysler Town & County van (worth $10k), a turtle, two rabbits and a parakeet.

the couple owed $95,352 to Gmac Mortgage for their home, $7,024 on a 2nd mortgage and $36,699.11 to Central Bank for a 'Statutory lien.'

They listed five kids ranging from 8 years to 16 years. Both listed their jobs as book publishers - Chad's average income was $3,385 and Tammy pulled in $1,579. The docs listed monthly expenses in the amount of $3,927.

At the time, Daybell was working pa art-time job at Springville City Corp and she was working part-time as an Overload Tech.

The case was closed officially in 2010, with $203k of their debt wiped clean.
