Is it possible MG wasn’t in hiding as much as she was wanting to distance herself from Chad and Lolo? Stay out of the spotlight? Maybe deflect any culpability, real or implied, while making sure her narrative was in order? Im guessing she’s retained an attorney but wasn’t there a delay in her responding to the police inquiries? Not something that would make her look very good, no?

I think the interview will be somewhat scripted on her part and she’ll do everything to point the finger elsewhere. At this point she needs to save her own bacon even if she’s not directly involved in wrongdoing. I’m still looking forward to it and we’ll probably garner more from her then Lolo’s family mouthpieces.
It's possible. If she was just laying low and distancing herself from the group then I would expect she would have easily been found but just remained silent/unavailable for interviews. Instead it sounds like she actually went into hiding and couldn't be found (at least by Nate Eaton and crew) for the five months.

As for the "somewhat scripted" narrative, again it's possible, but I'm hopeful that it's not the case. In the teaser video I don't see any indication of an attorney present (though they could be just off screen) and her responses to the questions seem genuine and natural enough. Furthermore Nate Eaton says he got through all of his questions for her (I think 11 pages worth?). So unless he sent her the questions beforehand to review and prepare for then I'm going to go out on a limb and say she's being authentic. JMO.

It's becoming more common. I've seen it in relation to trying to find a suspect, or to clarify what happened in an arrest, especially if there was violence. Also in response to a Freedom of Information request from the media.
Agreed. Here's a recent and local one where the police just released dashcam video of an officer involved shooting that happened earlier this month. The criminal investigation of the suspect is ongoing.

I know only a couple of small clips have been released but there is something about the half smile / smirk on MG's face during those clips that seems a little weird to me, kind of like she is enjoying it.

I very much doubt if Alex was the only hit man (or woman) for the group. Distance and timing make it almost impossible for him to have been involved in every one of those incidents.

Well, of course it depends on what incidents we're talking about, but for the list that follows I'm must respectfully disagree. I have found no alibi evidence for him for the Brandon shooting, the Tammy shooting attempt, or Tammy's death. Are there other incidents which lead to to believe another enforcer is in the group?

This has been my impression since even before the interview clips came out; that she just very much wanted to lay low and avoid the media as much as possible. She must be very embarrassed to be associated with these criminals (Chad and Lori), knowing that they duped her so badly. She is trying to protect her family from the horrific damage that Chad and Lori's have gone through as a result of their selfishness. IMO there is no larger group to fear. Moo.

For years I've enjoyed Dateline's coverage of cases but I think some of their reporters have gone too easy during interviews... which includes the Vallow case. CBS 5 and CBS 48 Hours asked more direct questions, and also had more emphatic statements (and quotes from documents). There are two children who have been missing for approximately 8 months and a jailed mother who refuses to disclose any information on their whereabouts. So, this is not the time to go easy on anyone who might shed light on finding the children. JMO

I'm actually starting to think maybe Chad killed the kids. MOO.

I don't have anything in particular in mind. Just that if he was responsible for every death and shooting as well as known trips (with niece MB to BB's house for instance) he'd have had to have spent most of the fall driving back and forth between Arizona and Idaho. It's possible he did, but it seems more likely to me that more than one of the cult may have been directly involved.

I keep meaning to ask. With Alex dead, who is MG so afraid of that she's gone into hiding?

Jmo

I dunno, but a ridiculous number of people surrounding her best friend wind up dead.

I know the only interest I have in what she has to say relates to this case, specifically, to Tylee and JJ. But it's possible that she's also holding information that relates to things that would be of interest to others and relevant to something totally unrelated to Lori and her family. Some things that would be of concern to {insert some unknown person(s)} if she blabs them??

I could imagine something like a ritual by "James the Just", to cast out demons and "exalt" them to a better place... If he started to believe his own fantasies and got completely off the rails, helped Tammy die, kids could be next, why not JMO

From IP's document (BBM):

Melani “told me she was worried that [Vallow’s brother Alex Cox] may have had to ‘take care’ of the kids. She explained that [Cox] had great faith and never wavered in his trust in the Lord. No task would be too difficult or great for him. When I asked for clarification, she restarted her concern verbatim.”

IMO doing the dirty work for Chad and Lori was Alex's main job.

Oh shoot, I totally misread that on first glance as "maybe Charles killed the kids" and my mind was spinning wildly to conjure how an innocent murdered man could have posthumously killed two children.

Because this case has gotten weird enough for me that things that couldn't possibly happen and would never happen.....could be on people's minds as a potential explanation.

This case affects people. I was in Walmart the other day and a female pulled a big ziplock baggie crammed with cash out of her purse.

I went all sorts of side eye.

Then I thought, she's a waitress. It's tips. Then I thought wait restaurants aren't open yet. Maybe she's a delivery driver.

Then I breathed a silent prayer. God, make me more kind and less suspicious of people. Amen. Lol.

Ha! Maybe she's afraid of the money having Covid-19 on it and doesn't want to contaminate her pocketbook with virus-laden cash? I had to stop using cash because I didn't want to deal with that. It's easier to disinfect my debit card. Strange times we are living in... How many threads did we debate on all the possible reasons why Lori might have had her cash in a baggie in Hawaii? Of all the ideas we came up with, I don't think any of us guessed maybe Lori's a germophobe. LOL!

:p:rolleyes:

Monday, May 25th, is JJ Vallow’s 8th birthday. He’s been missing since September. It is absolutely heartbreaking on his grandparents. He loves his “maw-maw and paw-paw” and they refuse to lose hope. Don’t stop looking for his little boy. #azfamily #WhereAreTheKids #JJandTylee

May 25, 2012 is an incredibly special day, if you ask Kay and Larry Woodcock. Eight years later, it’s even more important. JJ Vallow has not been seen since September 23, 2019. It’s been eight months and this boy is supposed to turn 8 on Monday. #wherearethekids #fox10phoenix

**Justin Lum also has same video of Kay

2 days before Thanksgiving, Chad Daybell called Melanie Gibb out of the blue. Melanie thought JJ Vallow, Lori's son, was with his grandmother in Louisiana.

BBM. So Lori's best friend had no idea that Lori moved to Rexburg because she was being "threatened" by Kay?

Melani, Summer and Janis: "Lori was receiving a lot of threats."
MG and IP's documents: Crickets.

Mighty good question there, indicolite22!

And, I wonder if we will find out if Melanie asked Chad where JJ actually WAS in that phone call.

Utterly bizarre to suggest she was being threatened by the very woman she lied and said the children were staying with.

It will be interesting to learn from MG how it was that she thought JJ Vallow was with his grandmother in Louisiana as well as whether she was also led to believe that was where JJ would be living from that point forward. I hope Nate also asked MG if she was told where Tylee was and what she was supposedly doing wherever that was.
