I would expect he'd at least have been charged with having the remains on his property even if they didn't know whose they were. That's at least enough to hold him until an ID is made. Then, they can work on more serious charges.

He's being held without bond.

Is there a specific reason that you all think LE used the term “unidentified” human remains. I feel like I normally hear the term only as “human remains” or “unidentifiable”.

No, that's a standard term for any remains. Even if LE on the scene is positive about who the remains are, they won't say that because it has to be determined by the medical examiner at the autopsy.

"Unidentifiable" sounds to me like remains that are so degraded or destroyed that it's not possible to identify them.

I feel awful saying this, but if you have two sets of skeletal or otherwise highly decomposed remains together in a common grave, perhaps “an autopsy” is the correct way to describe the procedure.

Court tv reporting calling it "Doomsday Cult Mom Case".
This station is reporting they have sources stating 2 bodies have been found and autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow.

Imo I took it to mean they aren’t sure of the identity of the person/persons.

Yes. Early this afternoon it was said they found evidence of two seperate sets of remains, but no it is an "autopsy." Many blue tents went up today as they searched so hopefully that was a speaking error.
I mean if there are remains of two children soenwhere, that neither is alive I hope they find them both.

I have heard, in a different case, someone say "an autopsy on both bodies" so using it in the singular might not mean anything other than a manner of speaking.

Well, this was a Rexburg PD press conference, which is in Madison County. Chad is booked in Fremont County, so they might still be working out details and haven't communicated them yet.

I agree, that was BS what they did. They could of and should of given us some pliminary facts.

I'm not trying to sound rude but why? I get we're all sitting on the edge of our seat watching this unfold. However, this is not just some 2 person team in Rexburg. The FBI has literally been there for months and they don't allocate resources like this for no reason. I posted earlier that they may have been instructed to limit the presser after they announced it (hence the terrible press conference...I don't know this. Just speculating)...While I'm as anxious as anyone to learn more, the last thing I want is to compromise the integrity of the case so us common folk can be kept in the loop as much as the people heading this case up. They have a job to do and it's not to keep up updated with every detail via twitter, FB, etc...(I guess that's Nates & Justins ha ha)

It's obviously one of the strangest cases ever.

Again, no disrespect but if they have literally 1000's of hours of FBI work alone, I'm cool waiting a bit for updates as the general population if it means they're dotting their "i" and crossing "t"

I think they are using the term simply to clarify that they were not able to immediately identify the remains onsite but that the remains have the potential for being identified after analysis.

They will no doubt be forbidden from contacting each other, directly or otherwise. So their lawyers would be wise not to assist in breaking a court order.

They said they would email it to those who signed up to request it. I don't know when that would be, hopefully soon.

According to the feed I was watching, the mod (a friend of Annies) stated that LE called Annie today with the update that remains were found, but have yet to determine who's they are... They wanted to prepare her.

The initial charges against CD (according to East Idaho News site) are as follows:

Chad Daybell was booked into the Fremont County Jail at 5:21 p.m., according to online records. He was arrested for destruction or concealment of evidence.
