Perhaps it was not Alex. Why is the anonymous Lori family member so certain it was Alex? Very convenient. We were getting Alex and Chad mixed up on the storage video so perhaps it looked like Alex on the Jeep footage but was someone else?
My thoughts exactly. And more probable IMO than the storage unit timestamp being broken.

My guess is from memory, video or both BB/LE identified the car but not the driver. Possibly they could even tell the shooter was a man, but could not make out identifying features. If they could that person surely would have been arrested.

While Alex was the primary family henchman, I’m sure he’s not the only one familiar w/firearms. Melani had the biggest reason to want BB dead but she’s probably smart enough to have a solid alibi. And Lori or Alex may have decided to “help her out” without her knowledge. Whoever decided BB had to go may well have found someone less obvious to do the dirty work.

Perhaps it was Chad (based on our storage video discussion we know it’s difficult to to distinguish him from Alex in grainy surveillance video), maybe Melani’s new beau soon-to-be-husband. Or some associate 🤬🤬🤬🤬 of Alex/Melani/Lori that we don’t even know about. Just because Alex wasn’t there doesn’t mean he didn’t arrange it.

Thinking about it, it was pretty damn stupid of whoever it was to use that car. Are they really that stupid, or was it a spur of the moment thing?

Is there a chance the guy (or one of the guys) on the storage video was IP?
I think so, or Chad even? Who had the use of the jeep at that time, around 2nd Oct ? Have we actually seen the 2nd Oct storage footage or were we just told about it.

Let's have the wording of this here, (I love words from the horse's mouth :) ) -

(from Lori to the LIFE Academy) -

Hi [redacted] and Life friends,

Since the circumstances in our lives have changed drastically
since my husband passed away last month. I have been
offered a job out of state and have had to accept it. We have
had to move quickly since the job started ASAP. So I'm sad to
inform you that Joshua won't be returning this year.

You have been so great to get him in this year and his DDD
funding and scholarship have just all finally been settled. I
really appreciate all you have done for JJ. I will continue to
recommend life to all of our friends like I did with [redacted]

We are doing our best to adjust to our new life.

Please let me know what you need me to do to withdraw him.
U can email me a withdrawal form or whatever needs to happen.

Thank you again Life Academy. We really loved our time with
you.

Justin Lum Fox 10 Phoenix

This is the subtext I am reading -

My husband passed away, and left us with no money. I've been forced to get a job! I'm really not lying or hiding my whereabouts from you - I wrote 'out of state' and not 'California' or whatever rubbish I told you on the phone because 'out of state' has been on my mind for some reason. That's more than I've told my adult son but my relationship with the school requires candidness!

I had to take the job offered and had to move quickly. It's important you don't think I instigated my plans to move job and house, even though I moved the very next day after JJ's last day. The job even started without me, or will start very soon!!

JJ won't be returning at all but if I put this year you can hope it's not final.

Let me offer you some butter, because we waited so long for the funding. I'll recommend you to loads of people I don't know, out of state, so please don't be upset we didn't do all the farewell stuff.

This new life is so darned hard.

I won't let you have my address to post me the form. Thank you, we did love you!!!

It seems like the Jeep changed hands a lot...

<modsnip: quoted post removed due to sleuthing family member>

Is it still very snowy in Rexburg? Does anyone think the police will start searching for traces of the kids in places local to where they were last seen?
Yes, lot's of snow. Hazardous weather conditions. Well below freezing and some days below 0˚F.

What I find particularly ironic is that Lori was a hairdresser, when she worked at all. Finding a new job in that profession usually doesn't require moving to another state (especially to a small town in Idaho). So I don't know why she thought it was a good line to use. Or was she telling people she had some other line of work?

It's beyond the realm of belief to allege that a family who has two missing kids rented a storage unit and put it full of one of the missing kids stuff for Innocent reasons.

There were belongings of Colby, Tylee, and JJ in there, it was not full of just one of their kid's belongings.

In my defense, that was before I noticed the bikehad pink handlebars.

I wonder if she told Chad that her kids are in hiding and he believes it?

When the storage video info first came out, I even thought of IP as a possible shooter in Gilbert, but then thought "no way that many people in the same circle in the same story can be sociopathic murderers"

Glad you found the reply button anyway. Tylee's baby blanket, girl's white skates, Colby's shirt also. And I am sure we did not see everything.

Labradoodles are usually non allergenic ie they don't shed.
True, but many people are allergic to dog dander, not the hair. Shedding dogs release more dander, but all dogs have dander. A highly allergic person will still react to poodles, schnauzers, labradoodles and other non -shedding breeds.

<modsnip: off topic>

Absolutely.

There were boxes clearly visible. The media only released images of a few hand picked things. I don't want to accuse them of picking only the things that would be shocking, like the blankets and family albums because they would never try to sensationalize to get better ratings, right?

The police photographed the contents of the locker, potentially they were the least shocking items. We just don’t know what was in the locker and what it was used for MOO

(As a kid I had allergies so we got a poodle. I was definitely allergic to her and the allergist said we needed to get rid of the dog. I quit going to the allergist and kept the dog. But I had to keep her out of my room and take allergy pills every day).

I know it varies. I have a relative allergic to cats and fine long haired fluffy dogs. That's why I said usually.

That would explain the seemingly random way the storage locker was arranged.

I think like attracts like.

Commercial flight would take 3+ hours. Private plane? Similar? Either way, time stamp is 3 hours difference (9:15 to 1:18 p.m. remove 1 hour for Daylight savings time the Idaho was in AZ wasn't in). Commercial flight again has to land in Idaho Falls 40 minutes away. Private (ETA: plane, not jet) could land at Rexburg Municipal 5 minutes away, but we're still grasping at straws - and that's a lot of moving parts to make an alibi for a missed shot.

Rex, are we sure the day/date is right?
