Man. They are trying hard to distance themselves from Chad and Lori. On their homepage after the post about 2019 and 2020, there is a post about this case and they said they considered him a good friend. Now he’s been demoted to just a random speaker? Next they will say they barely knew him and he might be the coffee boy.

NONE of that was there when I was looking at the site earlier, it appeared to be scrubbed of most content when I checked out the site this morning. Interesting!

Yes when members start to publicly post, speak out or convince others against the church or live outside of the covenants they have made, like affairs, immoral acts, abuse, just to name a few, they would be excommunicated. Not as a punishment of sorts, but to protect the name of the Church. We teach and try and live as we are taught, and when we make bad choices we can repent and change our ways. But in this case, they were probably defiant, an just like we see now, its confusing to people outside our church when people like them connect this craziness to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We don't believe what they are selling. So they can go their way, but then they are excommunicated. Everyone has a chance to repent and be re-baptized but it is a very long process and repentance also requires humility. Something it doesn't appear these two had. You have to be pretty narcissistic to claim what They are claiming. I've listen to some of their stuff, not much but the stuff I have is.. EWE!!!
I knew a Mormon, she has died, sadly.
They were quite a lovely bunch is my memory of them all.
Is there any info available on how the sect came to be on the SPLC anti-gov list?
Are they affiliated with the Patriot movement, Sovereign Citizens or others? I know there are hundreds of sub-sects of each of the bigger players in these categories
I just wonder which of their activities alerted government?

The Vallow grandparents have also been speaking out, I believe they are (the deceased) Charles Vallow’s parents.

Here's where it gets confusing: KW (grandmother) is Charles' sister. So it appears that Charles' niece/nephew had JJ and he then adopted him.

Jumping off this post one more time: can anyone confirm that the only family member of LV's who has gone on the record in the media is BB? He's the only one I can find, which makes the family memberS statement a bit misleading.

This statement can also be seen from Joshua Vallow's grandmother on Facebook, but as she is not considered "sleuthable" by website rules we can't link to it.

It IS mentioned in this Fox coverage though:
2 missing kids, parents wanted: What the FBI, several law enforcement agencies are investigating

edit: I guess I wasn't the only one responding to this, sorry for duplicates

Don't want to post info specifically sleuthing the daughter, but I am positive that it is in fact Lori's eldest daughter. She seems to have been raised nearly entirely by her father and not much in Lori's life from what I can tell.

So, is the daughter out of the picture and not at all wrapped up in this? Or is the “niece” actually the daughter?

From the description of the second book in Chad's "Standing in Holy Places" book series: "Six months have passed since the LDS prophet’s memorable visit to Manti, and the United States has suffered though a harsh winter. Meanwhile, the Coalition forces have methodically taken control of the nation—except for the Rocky Mountains, where the ice and snow have kept the Saints hidden away from the world."

I bet these two "Saints" are hiding in the mountains too.

That is so weird! I wonder if they know anything.

Also their lost about 2019/2020 reads like my former MIL’s terrible holiday letters.

If you are looking at Lori's Instagram (www.instagram.com/lolo4kauai), her posts are of her children 100%. If that is in fact who you are referring to, I would indeed venture to say she is not at all wrapped up in this and is living a very happy life with her father's side of the family. I don't know about any references to a niece.

No, it is not just BB. JJ's paternal grandmother and grandfather spoke to the media in the same news feature. They spoke quite a bit about their relationship with Lori. I posted the video a few pages back.
Those are Charles' relatives, not Lori's.

ETA: BB was only a relative by marriage. No one in Lori's biological family appears to have made any statements.

BB is not Lori's relative either by that measure. He married (and then divorced) a cousin of JJ. He has no biological relation. BB is related to the grandparents, KW and GW, through marriage.

Yes, sorry, I edited my post. Interesting that Lori's family seemingly has nothing to say. On social media, it's easy to see she isn't completely estranged.

Edit: wasn't BB married to Lori's bio niece?

Thank you. The information in the DailyMail article confused me. The bride pictured with Brandon, who is referred to as Lori’s niece, shares the same name and bears a striking resemblance as the Instagram girl. Wild coincidence, not the craziest part of this story by far.

I wish I could keep up, but I can’t.

I’m trying to find properties the two own in the hopes that one might have a shed or bunker. I personally think that with the prepper mentality they have, that’s where they are right now.

I did a couple of county gis searches for properties in the Daybell and Ryan last names in various counties, including Fremont and Madison in Idaho. I saw a Lori something or another (Ryan? Cox?) but I ran out of time!

Can somebody please check for any aliases on the property records? It’s easy; just google the county name and the word gis. Then put in the search terms.

I always feel like law enforcement does these things, but sometimes I think we can help them out, too.

I don't know either. My brain hurts. The person in the Instagram is definitely very happily married with a newborn, definitely not Brandon's SO.

Who knows, Daily Mail is trash, so nothing there surprises me or rings me as being the truth.

ETA: I just rewatched the news clip and it says Brandon is indeed married to Lori's niece, so that seems to be accurate. Either way, she is not the same person as the IG post.

I'm still waiting to hear back from website staff regarding Insider Verification (it's been 2 days but it was over the weekend, so I'll give some more time).

In the meantime, I have the opportunity to investigate in the Springville Utah area, (Chad and Tammy lived there 14+ years, Tammy's grave is there, and the separate cemetery Chad worked at in the past is also there, Springville High is where Chad went to highschool) is there anything in particular I should look for? I'm not as gifted as some of the people in this thread when it comes to knowing where to look, but if there's something that can't be found online I'd be more than happy to help. Unfortunately until the verification process is done this may be the most I can do. Thanks!
I have no idea what to suggest that you look for in those cemeteries, but that is a BRILLIANT idea!!! Godspeed!

"We're members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and we film events." -Michael James, Preparing a People founder.

Eric Grossarth on Twitter

The group says they are "not anymore connected to Chad (Daybell) than some line-up of speakers at any other event ... we are incensed at the recklessness that this couple seems to have chosen."

Eric Grossarth on Twitter

So....if they are no more connected to Chad than any other lineup of speakers...what about Lori, their number 1 podcast gal? Seems like quite the copout.

I just came across a picture of when they served the warrant on Lori’s town home. They were armed to the teeth. I’ve never seen a warrant served to search a place, so maybe this is the norm? Do they normally have people in military gear to serve warrants?

I have read the entire thread here, and wanted to add some clarification to a couple points. I am a life long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS or "Mormon"). I live in Utah, and I am friends with several people on AVOW as well as good friends with one of the authors Chad Daybell published. If needed I can verify whatever you like. I am also a member of the Preparing a People facebook group because I got drug in there by some other member before facebook stopped allowing people to be added without their permission. I've never really read anything there until the last few days, but because I have - I have seen a very long message from Nancy and Mike James about this particular situation. But first I want to explain something about the groups you're dealing with..

LDS Church full membership
--> Subset of those active and interested in last days and preparedness teachings
---->Subset of these have AVOW accounts
------>Subset of AVOW account holders includes those who are very deep into this stuff
-------->Subset of the deeper folks goes into behind the 2nd paywall that Chad had set up with Julie Rowe (more coming about her)
---------->Subset of these folks mingle with those who attend Preparing a People conferences
------------>Subset of all of these is the inner circle of Chad, Lori, Hector Sosa, and Julie Rowe

It's the bottom subset here that are their close associates. The rest of those folks above there are pretty oblivious to this particular secretive group. They believe that in anywhere from a few months to 10 years time there will be massive earthquakes and that all the special "elite" people that are "truly prepared" will be taken to cities of light (per Julie Rowe's books) and spared much of the tribulations. LDS do not believe in the rapture like protestants, but this is similar, just not the same. These secretive groups often operate in paranoia of the government at large believing everyone is party of secret combinations (conspiracy groups) that are out to get them. Many stockpile ammunition, food and water and other necessities right down to fish antibiotics to replace what is needed for humans, and bunkers as well as fancy tents and long term ability to go off the grid.

THIS IS NOT A NORMAL PREPPING GROUP. I should stress that even the majority of prepping mormons, AVOW members, and PAP group people are not this extreme with it all. Most just emphasize these things while following the mainstream LDS faith.

Technically if this is a "cult" it's unlike most cults since there is no one charismatic leader involved... it's more like an extremist group.

Also, I do not know if Chad and Lori were still LDS members or not. Chad's children have spoken up on facebook saying that they are members still, others have said they think they were ex'd. It's private so if anyone knows, it's likely only family members.

Regarding temple sealings (marriages) - Chad could easily have remarried in the temple as a man since a man can be sealed to more than one woman, but Lori would have had to have a cancellation of sealing for a previous husband IF he was LDS and they were married in the temple. If not - it would not matter. My best hunch is with the quickness of this marriage, they almost certainly eloped in front of a judge.

(Edited to remove content I think is likely not allowed. The remainder is directly from my personal knowledge.)

Does anyone know if Lori has a profession outside the home? I was wondering if maybe she had medical training? Access to drugs that could mimic a heart attack or someone dying in her sleep?

  • #440
You don't need training, really. Just google. For instance, putting eye drops in someone's drink can cause them cardiac issues and death. Just read of a paramedic accused of killing his wife with eye drops. Previously there was a woman accused of killing her husband with eye drops. You don't even need a prescription to buy those.
Here is a woman who is accused of killing her husband with eye drops.
"She told investigators that she put eye drops in his drinking water from July 19 to 21."
