Identified! ID - Kootenai Co., Skeletal remains in woods, Feb'15 - Billy Davis

Wednesday at about 12:45 p.m. a hiker in the Bayview area reported he had come across what appeared to be human skeletal remains. Deputies responded to the remote forested area off Cape Horn Road and hiked into the area where they found several bones that appear to be human remains. The remains found are likely not from a recent missing person, but it is too early to tell how old the bones are.

Considering the amount of drug abuse and transiency in Idaho..my money is on it being a vagrant or an addict who fell victim to foul play. (Or a bear.)

The Kootenai County Sheriff's Office says the human remains recently found near Bayview, ID belong to a white, adult man who may have been 30-50 years old...

The sheriff's office says it received the early results from the the King County Medical Examiner's Office Thursday. Detectives say they had King County analyze the bones because of their expertise in the field of Forensic Anthropology and Odontology.

The Medical Examiner's Office says it looks like the man has been dead for less than two years.

Detectives announced Tuesday that the remains found in February near Bayview were that of Billy Vaughn Davis, 44.

The Coeur d'Alene man was last seen by his family in July 2014. He was reported missing in November 2014, according the detectives with the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office...

Detectives described Davis as living a "transient lifestyle" before he vanished.
