Police said the 1989 Z28 Camaro was grey – its original color – at the time she disappeared, but "it may be a different color now." The vin number is 1G1FP21E3KL147418.

The Camaro's last known location was Sun Valley, Nevada, roughly 20 years ago. Wednesday's news release said detectives have tracked the vehicle as it has been sold and given away "multiple times" since the year of Dunlap-Bosse's disappearance.

“Even though it’s been decades, we have reason to believe that this Z28 Camaro could be the evidence we need to help solve what happened to Krystyn and find justice for her and her family,” Boise Police Sgt. Justin Kendall said. “We are looking for any information that will help us figure out what happened to this vehicle and where it might be now.”

“Please check old salvage yards, hobby/part shops, etc. It’s possible that as of about 2000, it was no longer running and was being used as a parts car, potentially ending up in the amateur car racing/car building circuit.

<<In mid-December 1994, friends lost contact with Krystyn. She stopped cashing her social security checks from the death of her father and never returned to work. Her social security information was traced back to a hotel in McCall where she worked, however, the McCall Police Department does not have any records of Krystyn in its system.

Boise Police Department reopened her case in 2021. BPD and Krystyn's family are asking the public for any information about a gray 1989 RS Camaro, as they believe it was used to transport her body after she was killed. The car was last seen in Sun Valley, Nevada in 2000 and has not been registered since, or destroyed or recycled in any way. Detectives have tracked the vehicle as it has been sold and given away “multiple times” since the year of Krystyn’s disappearance.>>
